I travel to St. Joseph for work at least three times a year and I come here every single time. Have…read morebeen doing it for years. After today I won't be coming back. My work colleagues and I got sat and were informed of a long wait as there was only one server - cool. No problem. It happens. We are sitting about 20 minutes when a table of 8 gets sat next to us. The cook immediately came from behind the counter to bring water for them. We were still sitting there with nothing. Our server came over - apologized and got our orders and brought out our drinks. Our salads came out and all was well. Then we waited and waited. We were informed that one of the potato pizzas we ordered couldn't be made because they were out of potatoes. No big deal. We changed the order. Then the group next us - who came in 20 minutes after us and ordered after us all got served their pizzas(including a few potato pizzas). While we waited and was not served. Finally realizing that our diverse group of 5 was being shafted for the very non-diverse group of 8 we asked for our pizzas to go and we left. So if the intention of Il Lazzarone was to make us feel sidelined and "othered" - congratulations. Job well done. Because we left there being reminded of just how how bigotry feels. The pizzas was still great in my hotel room. But you will never see a recommendation from me or dime of my money again.

The waitress did a great job explaining and her recommendations were spot on! We started off with the bruschetta. It was very fresh and layered with flavors! We then ordered the Salsiccia Italiana (Mozzarella, Sausage, basil, olive oil, sea salt) and the Crepa (Mozzarella, bacon, basil, garlic, balsamic glaze, olive oil, sea salt). We both agreed the the Crepa was our favorite but they were both very good! The Italian sausage was very flavorful. We ate half of each pizza and saved room for dessert. Our waitress recommended the S'mores with added cookie dough. It was so yummy and worth the calories! We love supporting these type of specialty restaurants in St Joe. We will definitely be back!

Wish we had just one more piece of garlic bread to eat with it! It was exactly what I was expecting. The pasta carbonara had a nice meaty flavor throughout from the guanciale. My husband loves meat so he added an Italian sausage which it really did not need. But I'm glad he did because the piece I stole from his plate was amazing with the tastiest char. I want to go back just for a side of Italian sausage. As for the wood fired lasagna... it was good. I saw reviews where people said it was the best they've ever had. I can't say the same. When the description says sweet marinara or sweet red sauce, believe the sweet part. This sauce is SWEET. It's definitely oriented for those who eat and love a lot of sugar. I personally think if it had a splash of béchamel on top to counterbalance the sweetness, it would be better, but that would totally change the dish. I'd DEFINITELY try their white lasagna anytime if they ever have that on special. The pistachio butter Panuozzo Dolce is pretty much exactly how it looks. Think of the pistachio butter just like peanut butter in texture. It's just green instead of brown, and tastes of pistachios instead of peanuts. It's wood fired dough and the pistachio butter. I think it needs some whipped cream on top to jazz it up. I'll try the tiramisu next time! I appreciate the decent priced bottles of wine. One thought on the decor (which is pretty cool), is that it would be really nice for those patrons sitting facing the big black wall, hanging some big black framed mirrors would be fabulous so we have something to look at besides our table mates. We will be back.

I would rate this about a 2.5. I was woth my 2 kids. They loved the spaghetti and pizza. I had…read morethe lasagna, and it was ok. Breadsticks were great. My main issue was cleanliness of the restaurant. Just felt a bit dark and dingy in some places. The restrooms were unusable due to being dirty. Would we go back...unsure. Possibly for drive thru only.

I recently visited this location to pick up takeout pasta through the drive-thru, and unfortunately…read morethe experience was very disappointing. The employee taking our order seemed uninterested and had difficulty listening to what we were ordering. Our order was taken incorrectly the first time, and when we politely corrected it, her response was noticeably rude and dismissive. We were then given a total of about $50 for three pasta dishes, which didn't seem accurate. When we later reviewed the receipt, we discovered we had been charged for four pastas despite correcting the order. After taking payment, we were told to pull forward and wait for the food to be brought out to us. During this wait, we saw the employee leave the building to go to her car for a smoke break. When our food finally arrived, it was cold and still not prepared correctly. It's unclear whether it was cold from sitting or from being made incorrectly again, but either way, the quality was not acceptable. Overall, the service was unprofessional, the order was repeatedly incorrect, and the food quality suffered as a result. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I won't be returning. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, as simple improvements in customer service and attention to detail would make a significant difference.
