ABC stores are the only retail outlets in Virginia where customers may purchase liquor. This particular location is located in a strip mall next to Food Lion on Godwin Blvd. I am not a big drinker, and especially so when it comes to liquor. I went to ABC to buy some rum for a glaze I was making for Christmas (http://steamykitchen.com/7699-ham-blackberry-rum-glazed.html). My first trip was quick just to pick up the rum, so I decided to stop by again today before I wrote my review. I was surprised to find out that they do not carry beer or wine--just liquor. Since every state has different laws, I didn't realize this about Virginia until today. You have to buy your beer and wine at a grocery store, and then go to ABC to purchase your liquor--at least this one is nearby Food Lion. This ABC store is very clean and organized. It's a medium-sized building but I think you will be able to find what you need there. The staff was extremely professional and courteous--I was impressed. If you need to hit a liquor store in Suffolk -or need lottery tickets- this is your place.

There are spaces by the door for curbside pickup. I placed my order online for a HTF bottle that is a new addition to VA ABC offering. My order of Bardstown Fusion Series #4 was paid and packaged when I arrived. I had also confirmed my order with staff Joey who was fantastic! The store truck had arrived a few hours earlier and all the boxes with inventory was shelved. Everything was neat and clean, however the bourbon section was not as large as I've seen in other stores. Still a great selection and they were full stocked. This will likely be a store I do not return to due to its proximity from my Virginia Beach home. 3.5 rounding up with great service.

Looky looky! I have…read morebeen in the area for almost a year now and had no clue this store was tucked away off of this main street in the Suffolk area. I travel this road from time to time, but I guess you can say, I do not pay attention to my surroundings like I should... smh. Well on NYE, I stopped by this store to see if my brand of Tequila was available... nope! Ugh... While other brands were available, I was set on a particular brand. Nevertheless, upon walking in, I was greeted and the store was pretty steady. It was NYE and the store usually closes about 6pm. So people try to get in and get out before it gets too crowded and before the lines get super long. Well this NYE, none of that... the stores are running low on options. Well, while I left with nothing, I will definitely be checking out this location more and more. This store is located in a strip mall as well near a few eateries and shopping. However it's always about who has what and the drive can be worth it. I continue pushing ahead to visit Virginia ABC's in the 757 and provide up to date photos and reviews. I called a head with travel and traffic on a Friday. The two clerks were very nice even though in the midst of unloading a late truck. They confirmed a bottle I was looking for. The business is located on the right side of the strip as you face it. Plenty of parking and the lot was clean. Signage was good at the storefront, however I never saw on the road. The floor of the store is pretty small and the bourbon area smaller than others too. I asked the staff for the Bardstown Discovery I was looking for and was led to it on the shelf. Checkout was efficient using my card. All the staff wore mask. The clerk let me self package with COVID. Over a $100 it's necessary to sign. Not a store I will most likely come back to with distance and tolls, but it's a good option. 3.5 rounding down.

They normally have all the liquor you can I imagine, from tequila to rum just to name a few, they also have miniatures if you want to purchase smaller sample bottles if you're on the fence about a particular beverage. They also run sales on certain items if you can catch them at the right time,if you don't see what you want you can ask the cashier or any other employee and it's a possibility of them having more in stock at the back of the store.
