They were doing renovations on the patio when we visited so, sadly we could not sit outside. The menu has a large variety of lunch/dinner options however, we came specifically for the brunch menu on Sundays. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not open until 11 on Sunday so I would not consider this "brunch" but we tried it anyway. Sadly, no coffee! There were about 8 food options to choose from and we all decided on the biscuits and gravy. For $10 these are delicious. The biscuits are extra large however, it does not come with enough sausage gravy to completely cover these large biscuits. The biscuits either need to be smaller OR they need to add more gravy. But great flavor. Not sure if we will be back for brunch but glad we tried it and hope to try dinner soon.

This past visit, the owner struck up conversation with us. Such a nice gentleman who we really enjoyed chatting with for a few minutes. The shop itself has a nice variety of wine and other goods such as cheese, crackers, oils, etc. It is laid out well to allow for the flow of customers if it gets busy. Aesthetically pleasing as you linger and browse the selections. It is businesses like this that give Cape Charles the small town charm.

With us taking the day off after Thanksgiving, we thought it was best to take a look around for any spirits we found interesting. Let's see how the visit turned out. Sophia feared that a lot of people would be here due to Black Friday but it was hardly anybody inside. Perfect for the both of us. The goal was to buy Yoju beer which I discovered after one Yelp Elite event last year. But unfortunately, they were out of it. So I decided to buy some Soju beer (one Peach and one Watermelon) which are very strong in alcohol content. Also, we took a look around just like last time. It's amazing to see how much can come from different countries. A whole lot to choose from. You can't go wrong at all. Even though I was bummed there was no Yoju beer, I was satisfied with the stop. This definitely won't be the last time we'll be here :)

However it was educational and interesting to see places I would have never otherwise been to. There are different routes, and the route we did included a meadery (honey and mead tasting), two rum/gin/whiskey stops and a brewery. I inquired about skipping one of the rum establishments and going to both breweries (other routes had this option), but I was told that people booked and were expecting the route with only one brewery. I told them I was in that group, but they never responded. Turns out the only other people (2) on the tour were asked to switch to the afternoon tour because no one else had booked the evening tour. (The evening tour was the route with two breweries). So there was no reason, with the justification provided, why would couldn't have done two breweries. The liquor tasting is not enjoyable, way too strong. The establishments, especially the Copper Fox Distillery was interesting and a wonderful tour of the grounds was provided. The downside with that place was when it came time for sampling we were told you could either sample the products or get a mixed drink. I chose mixed drink, because it is much easier to drink than straight liquor. But when it came time to pay (I bought more than the sample provided), I was told that wasn't part of the tour, it's either sample the straight liquor or nothing. So I felt mislead and had to pay an additional $9 that I was no expecting. The brewery we did stop at did not provide a tour, but they did provide a flight of four beers for each person on the tour. This was completely ok with the group as we were more interested in drinking than touring.

After a brief wait Cydney brought our meals, the presentation was excellent but the taste was even better. I'm usually a big eater but I could not finish the entire meal. I would certainly give this restaurant five stars. As we were finishing our meals the Chef came out and asked if we enjoyed our meals and both of us told him the meals were exceptional.
