Can't remember the lady's name but went and got our hair cut, and my daughters hair is so incredibly uneven and choppy. Mine is not good either, but my daughter is so bad. Her first hair was cut, and she got butchered. Will never go here again. DO NOT LET THIS WOMEN CUT YOUR HAIR. SHE WILL MESS IT UP SOOOO BADLY. My poor baby. So let me start with I always give the last word to the professionals. I told her I wanted layers and the shortest at my collar bone but I wanted to keep my hair length as I was growing it out. She told me that she would "frame" layers to my face. Cut barely anything off. Literally nothing. My mother, who is ,70, said she would pay I think she knew I was a ripped off. Asked if she could get a senior discount and the lady said no. Wtf?! It's literally 2 dollars off and she spent maybe 8 min or less on my hair! When I was paying she made it clear she was annoyed that he had gel in his hair, told me next time to not bring him in with gel and implied she didn't give him a good haircut because of it. Came to find out it was even worse.. my son told me after that the whole time he was in her chair she was making comments to him about how ridiculous it was that he came in with gel in his hair. Back story: went to super cuts across the street initially. They said it was a 30 min wait and past the 30 min mark I was still 3rd in line. I was irritated because I had another appointment to go to. I literally googled "hair cuts near me" and this place popped up, 2 min away. I got there at 1:13, checked in, and was out by 1:35. Amazing. Not only that, my stylist Desiree was very sweet and attentive. She took time to explain the different styles and help me pick out what I wanted and gave me a lot of information on how to upkeep the health of my hair. Two different employees have at separate times completely destroyed my kids hair. Today was the last time I will ever set foot in that place again - my 10 year old son had been growing his hair out for a year for a specific hair cut, which we brought a photo of. The lady said she could do it and then proceeded to cut his hair so short that it looks like a buzz, nothing even remotely close to the image. He was in tears. What a way to treat the elderly! A few weeks ago my 85 yr old mother went in for a haircut. She asked her hairdresser if she could come back in a few weeks for just a style for her granddaughters wedding. "Of course she said" The stylist she got was horrible!!! She didn't get that my mom just wanted a simple style for her short gray hair. My mom is not a fancy woman and wanted to look pretty. The stylist kept asking her if she wanted a hair cut. My mom kept saying she didn't need a hair cut just a style. After going back and forth my mom pointed to a picture on the wall and said just something like that. Just a nice style, nothing fancy. Finally the stylist told my mom that a hair cut and style was $24 but just a style was $40. My mom politely said "no thank you" and left and did her own hair the best she could at home! SOOO my 85 yr old mother could not get her hair styled for her granddaughters wedding!!!! After hearing this story and without my mothers knowledge, (she would not approve of me causing a stir ) I stopped by the salon and spoke to the assistant manager. Honestly the hairdresser you get makes the biggest difference, but the last 3 out of 4 times I ended up with different ladies who all rushed to get me in and out as fast as possible. They literally spent 5 mins tops cutting my hair....the worst part was the last time I was literally the only person in the shop. There was absolutely no reason to rush. What an absolute joke! $18 before tip for 5 mins. The one time I got a lady who actually seemed to care it was actually a great haircut. First off Its taking a lot in me to not go any lower than 3 stars since I know this is normally a good location and great stylists but today I had a very bad experience when I got home and realized what my hair looked like after I showered. Her name was Donna. To start she didn't have much to say it's usually good for a customer service business to be friendly and ask how my day was but that's forgivable. She never asked how I wanted my side burns or if I wanted the back of my hair rounded or square (I'm a male btw). I have been coming to great clips at many locations for YEARS and they always ask those questions she just assumed. My normal cut is a 4.5 - 4 on the sides and back (I went 3 today) and about half an inch off the top. She said she doesn't have half sizes but again that's not a big deal. My hair on top was atleast 4 inches. I wanted about a half an inch off the top to get it clean and sharp looking. When she showed me the size it looked a little more than half an inch but I went with it since I figured it wouldn't hurt to go a tiny shorter. Throughout the cut she started to get lower and lower and eventually cutting about an inch off in some places. I got out of the shower and realized that my hair is quite uneven on the front. Some points it is as short as about an inch which is VERY short for me and I don't know how to work with it. Then on the opposite side of that, it slowly increases to about an inch maybe more. I have 2 callics (cowlicks?) in the front and thick hair. The only way to work with them is to have it longer than 3 inches. The reason i am as mad as I am is I have 2 job interviews tomorrow (first job, im in highschool) and I was trying to clean myself up and now I have ZERO clue what to even do to my hair now. I guess I'll have to wait for it to all grow out again. Ugh Again I usually have good experiences and most of the stylists (usually the younger ones) are super friendly and can hold a good convo and always asking me if what she's doing is good instead of waiting until the end when it's too late. read more

Horrible experience yesterday! First off I usually always take my little guy here because they are always super friendly with him! I decided to take my 17 month old in to get his haircut along with my two-month-old and the lady who cut his hair obviously didn't want to be there because she did not greet us or welcome us with open arms,her attitude was foul. She had me hold my 17 month old On my lap and was constantly telling him he needed to stop moving. Hair was going everywhere, even onto the baby! I stated to her I didn't understand what the problem was because we always go in there and he never has any issues with any other of the girls. She then stated to me do I look like the other girls? For a walk-in salon, Great Clips provides quality haircuts at a terrific price. This was my first time there, and I was happy to have Sally Jo, the manager, cut my hair. She did exactly what I asked for, gave me some suggestions for more layers, and I left with a perfect hair cut for only $16. While there I looked around and saw that they do as many men's cuts as women & kids, so it must be good for the whole family. Sally Jo said they have ala-carte menu so if you want to add styling you can, but it keeps the price low by just doing a wet spray (shampoo is extra $6), then the cut, and leave without the blow-dry/style. Great clips is horrible. I decided to go for a new look. A comb over kind of hairstyle. The lady cut way too far for parting my hair. I looked like an unfinished hedge that needed to be shaved. I was so displeased and agitated I shaved my head to make everything even. I asked a family member how the comb over looked and he even said "what the hell is that?". Thought I give this place another try after a year in a half ago with my other horrible experience there but I was dead wrong. Thank you Great clips. I'm forever shaving my head so I don't have to worry about styling my hair or even care about it! You would think professionals would suggest good ways to style or correct a customer on their way of wanting a particular cut. I had to do 4 stars instead of 5 as it's the first time so I can't compare it visit to visit but next time I bet it will be 5:) My mother in law and I came in today for haircuts. We are fairly new to Auburn, about 5 months, and I have been driving back and forth to Pinole to go to my hairstylist there. It was just getting less time and mine efficient so I really wanted to find a stylist close to home. Krista took the time to really listen to what I wanted. She looked at pictures of my past cuts. I have a bit of a complicated super short style so if it's wrong it's a painful grown out. She was very patient and worked with me and I came out with a really nice cut, what I had explained and asked for. I think it was Kristen that cut my mother in laws. She has very fine thinning hair and wanted something to make her feel she had more hair while still easy to care for. She also was so pleased with her cut "I feel so much better" she told me. I gave the lady cutting my hair very specific instructions to not take off very much and to only trim my bangs(which go to the side). She hacked like 3 inches off. Didn't listen to any of my instructions. Chopped my bangs so terribly short that I can't even pin them back. I'm furious and incredibly disappointed. The first time I had my hair cut at GC the girl was new and had to have a manager check her work which was uneven. After it was fixed and cut shorter then I would have liked, I decided to give them another try. Yesterday went for a trim and my neck was cut with the clippers all the way across my neck and once again my hair was uneven.
