TRIAL - I used my engagement photoshoot in March 2025 as my trial for my wedding day hair and makeup - for the trial you go in person to the Auburn studio location which is a little house perched on the hill converted to a studio WEDDING DAY - initially had 4 people (myself included) for hair and makeup for my wedding day, which would have had me have 2 hair and makeup artists; however, my SILs decided to do my MIL's hair and makeup, so it then became 1 hair and makeup artist, Zoe COMMUNICATIONS - I had interviewed and emailed multiple hair and makeup artists/companies and moved forward with All Dolled Up due to location, pricing, portfolio, and because they were the only ones I spoke to that had airbrush - I liked how all communications were through the main portal/email - very professional; loved that there were email check point reminders and instructions as it got closer to both the trial and wedding day HAIR & MAKEUP ARTIST - Zoe was my hair and makeup artist for my engagement photoshoot as well as for my wedding day - during the trial we jelled; Zoe was very warm, welcoming, bubbly, and such a hype woman! - I will say that I got a bit nervous because we went over time (if I recall correctly) for the trial by approximately 15-20 minutes; so I knew (and was instructed by my photographer) to give a hard stop for the wedding day because hair and makeup can notoriously go over your time - advice given to me by all recent brides was to give a buffer for yourself so that if/when hair and makeup goes over your hard stop, you'll still be OK and not rushing in the end - trial hair and makeup was great! - MOB and MOH on wedding day loved their hair and makeup by Zoe! - for my wedding day, I would have still liked if the front of my hair had more volume, but it was what it was; Zoe also underlined me for my lips, but an easy fix I was able to rectify; never be afraid to speak up too! once I saw the finished hair and makeup I was dissatisfied initially with the way my hair was parted, but Zoe had no issues redoing my part - another thing too that was commented on by the MOH was that it was interested that no touch up kits or samples are provided read more

I am writing this review to share my experience with All Dolled Up so future brides can make an informed decision. While I was happy with my own hair and makeup, the overall service for my bridal party caused significant logistical issues and unnecessary stress on my wedding morning. When I reached out to the owner afterward, her response was to blame our group for too many re-dos, rather than addressing the actual service failures. Here is what objectively happened: Scheduling and Staffing Issues: The chair schedule provided by management completely conflicted with the artists' notes on-site, leaving our flower girls displaced. My bridal party had to pull up past emails from the company to clarify the timeline. Furthermore, the stylists on-site were not cross-trained as expected, meaning they couldn't adjust to the scheduling error. Lack of Professional Communication: The overall energy from the team was quite disengaged, making the morning feel tense rather than celebratory, despite advertising that they could create a hype squad energy, calm spa energy, or a balance between the two. The stylist did not interact or even ask us any questions, and I had some of the most bubbly/easy to talk to bridesmaids out there. As well, when my mother requested blue eyeshadow, the first artist simply stated she didn't have it and began packing up. I had to step away from my own preparations to look into it, only to find out the second artist did have the color. I ended up spending my morning stressed and problem solving rather than enjoying my morning. Stylist Capability: The junior stylist assigned to us struggled with standard requests. Despite notifying the company in advance about two bridesmaids with curly hair, the stylist struggled with their hair texture, which put us significantly behind schedule. She also did not know how to work with tie-in extensions (although they advertise experience with extensions), requiring multiple corrections, and used so much hairspray that the style couldn't be reworked. Flower Girl Services: Because of the prior delays, we ran over an hour behind. When it was time for my 3-year-old niece, the stylist stated she did not know how to do a basic French braid. The alternative style they put together fell out before the ceremony even started, and the "shimmer and shine" add-ons we paid for were skipped for both flower girls. The Impact: Because the team ran over an hour late, my wedding timeline was derailed. The rush and stress impacted my morning, and I missed irreplaceable bridal party photos that cannot be recreated. The owner was unwilling to take responsibility for these training and scheduling errors. She ultimately offered a $72 refund for one flower girl and a $175 goodwill refund. While I appreciated the gesture, a $247 refund on a $3,000 package does not address the missed photos or the logistical breakdown on a wedding morning. The hair and make up "artists" seemed more interested in chatting with one another than doing the job they were paid to do. They did a terrible job on my hair and make up for my friend's wedding. I brought pictures of what I was looking for and they didn't even come close. I ended up with caked on makeup, and Asian eyes, not Smokey eyes, and they missed a spot on my chin. I also ended up with a stiff hairsprayed ringlet like I was 5 years old going to my first day of kindergarten, not a natural look that I asked for. I could have done a better job and saved the bride a lot of money. One girl had naturally curly hair and they waisted time curling her hair then put a decorative clip in her hair. She looked no different than she would any other day, minus the hair clip. Several girls were not happy with the makeup as they did not get the look they requested. The youngest bridesmaid should have been all glammed up like JonBenét Ramsey, but you couldn't even tell she had makeup on. This was an evening wedding!! The daughter of the groom had her hair done and it fell out before the wedding even started. We had to try and fix it for her. I believe the bride was the only one who turned out nice. When I reached out to ADU they were quick to reply and very helpful with my many questions. They even asked for inspo pics after I explained my concern over finding the look I wanted. They then sent me examples of their work similar to what I wanted. I booked with them for hair and makeup for myself and mom. As the bride, I also got a trial hair and makeup. My artist was Zoey. I loved the look after my trial and even decided to buy a veil after trying one on at the trial. Even though I loved my look I still wanted something more dramatic, and they absolutely were open to all my feedback. And boy did Zoey deliver!! I loved mine and my mom's final look the day of. Zoey was professional, friendly and early to both appointments. There was a snafu with the timeline and photographer (my error) and she seen I was stressed and really comforted me to bring my anxiety down. I had worked with this company before when I was in a magazine. I thought for sure my experience would be the same for my maternity photoshoot. Very disappointed to say it was not! I came to the salon with no makeup on and washed and dried hair as instructed. I showed the artist my three options for my makeup and my hair. I feel my makeup looked great, even though it wasn't specially what I asked for, but my hair was horrible!!!! She spent so much time on my makeup that she had barely any time for my hair. My hair looked nothing like I asked. It was super flat with a few curls. She barely touched my bangs until I asked her. The problem was I had to be in Tahoe and we were already 30mins over the time I needed to leave. I just can't believe I paid $250 for a few curls and flat hair. I booked All Dolled Up for my 11/29/25 wedding and unfortunately had a very poor trial run that did not reflect the skill or professionalism promised. The makeup and hair were far below expectations, leaving me uncomfortable about using their services for my wedding day. When I raised my concerns, the company offered a retrial or alternate artist, but by that point my confidence was lost due to how the situation was handled. I requested to cancel more than 30 days before the event, but was told the booking was completely non-refundable under a 90-day clause -- even though my location was still listed as "unknown." Their replies were overly legalistic and dismissive, focusing on contract wording rather than customer experience. The good news is the owner immediately recognized this, took accountability, and offered me another trial with the original team I was supposed to have. Once I met them, I knew I was in great hands. My second trial was amazing, and on my wedding day the team (Destiny, Crystal, and Olivia) completely delivered. They were prompt, professional, and even finished ahead of schedule. Every single bridesmaid loved their look. Destiny was incredible with my makeup--she took her time, checked in with me constantly, and the finished look was even better than I imagined. Crystal nailed my hairstyle and made sure it could support my long, heavy veil--it held perfectly all night long. They got my makeup absolutely perfect--natural, yet flawless, which was exactly what I wanted for my wedding day. I wish I didn't have to have a thank you letter ready and waiting for the company upon the end of their hired service. We opted for the Hair only service. A total of 8 women, the bride and groom received their services. Out of the eight attendant's only 2 needed no further tucking, pinning, hair spraying, or all out style change. One of the stylist was extremely late from the start time. When one of the stylist left to take care of the groom 2-blocks away, the groom asked about using products to help with his look. She replied that she only had product for black people, which I couldn't understand, as she left all of her products at the previous site and was called back to retrieve them. I had hired All Dolled Up to do my hair and makeup and bridesmaids' makeup. For my hair, during the trial, we agreed my requested hairstyle needed hair extensions. I bought hair extensions through them. Come the day of my wedding, THEY FORGOT MY HAIR EXTENSIONS. They then told me that they were not going to go pick some up and that I would have to pick a different hairstyle. My whole dress revolved around the hair I wanted and I was not going to settle for that. They wanted me to be happy with just a refund for the extensions. My fiancé had to go out into a bad neighborhood to a beauty store to pick up hair extensions for me right before the wedding so I could have the hair I wanted. This delayed everything by a hour. I have no getting ready photos and neither did the groom. Following the wedding, I reached out to them for further reimbursement. They refused to see the emotional and mental toll they had on me and said they didn't see the point of a refund because they "rendered all their services." I just used ADU for my own wedding, and I ended up choosing them because I had been a bridesmaid at two weddings they did hair and makeup for in the past, and I enjoyed my look at those weddings! However, I feel the quality of service given for my own wedding was much less than what we received at my friends weddings (which were both in 2021). My venue was about 3 hours from their location in Auburn, so I was told I would need to provide rooms for the 3 artists coming the night before on Friday. I had to clean the rooms between the artists and my guests staying Saturday. Not a big deal, but one of the artists actually showed up at 6am Saturday, so she didn't stay in the room anyway I guess? All the girls scheduled to start first were on time and ready to go. I did not show up that early as I was the bride and wanted to sleep in a bit. When I showed up about 1.5 hrs after the scheduled start time, the artists were already behind. By the time we all finished, I think we were close to an hour behind on certain artists, maybe half an hour behind on the other. My planner had to play catch up since we were waiting on them to finish before moving on with the day. I was told I would get 3 artists for the 9 people getting hair and makeup. This seemed fine and I spent time making a list of who would go when as I had certain people who could not go early. But the week of the wedding, ADU sent me an email with a whole new timeline, not even filled out with the girls names. It was different because now the girls had to get their hair done in two chairs - one was to curl it, the other was to "pin it" or put it up basically. Only one of the artists was the "master artist" that could put hair up. The other was not allowed to put people's hair up, only curl it apparently. Then the third only did makeup and didn't touch hair. This seemed odd but I went with it and had to remake the schedule the week of my wedding. There was some confusion over this too, because my mom didn't want her hair put up, only curled/styled. It was not communicated to her that she should just get her hair finished by the first artist that could only curl, so she waited for her second turn in the chair to get "pinned", but she didn't want it put up. So when she got to the second artist, attitude was given to her on what she wanted if she didn't want it put up. She wanted it finished as the curls were not exactly what she wanted or brushed out or anything, but the artist was kind of like well what do you want? about it. I also asked for individual lashes after doing my trial, and the artist did not use these the day of. All of this would not have been a big deal at all if not for my hair. I got tape in extensions well prior to the wedding. I had them for my trial hair and makeup, so it was nothing new. My artist, the "master artist", finished my hair fairly quickly and took a picture to show me. I was not able to see everything super clearly since it was just a photo and I did not go look closely in the mirror, which was my mistake I guess to approve it and move on without inspecting closely, but she left many of my extensions showing! At least one right by my temple which was super obvious and many showing in the back of my head too. She pulled my hair back too tight, and some of my scalp was showing too. Which is NOT what we did in my trial. I was very disappointed seeing that when I got the first sneak peek from my photographer knowing they were showing all day. My friends fixed the one near my temple because they noticed it. Of course I hope nobody else noticed, but a person who styles hair for a living should definitely have noticed. My photographer had to edit A LOT of my photos. I contacted them and they said they could not refund my prepaid tip (mistake on my part, but they didn't offer any other refund either though), but they did send me a goody box. I attached photos and also a photo of my trial run (in the blue shirt) which shows how it should have looked. We did tighter curls day of since they fell out a bit after the trial, but that was fine since we discussed it previously. It wasn't the curls that was the problem anyway. They also kind of tried to tell me maybe it was the angle of the photos or movement that showed them, but they are visible in EVERY photo that shows that part of my head. My photographer did a great job editing but I will always wonder if people saw them that day. That is literally the last thing you want when you have extensions is for people to see them. Again, hopefully they didn't but the artist should have. Overall our makeup was pretty and everyone elses hair was nice even with the hiccups, but definitely check your own hair very well, not just a quick photo, especially if you have extensions! 12/9/23 - After getting all our professional photos back and going through all of them, looks like they let my mother in laws extensions show too! Each time I've felt completely listened to and understood in my desires for my hair & makeup, and truly cared for from start to finish. We booked this place for my sisters wedding. If we could do it all over again, we would have 100% gone a different direction. The day of the wedding, one of the make up artists showed up SICK (not the best idea given it's in the middle of a pandemic) and delayed the whole schedule. When she finally arrived, she worked on my makeup. We had to stop a couple times because she felt like she needed to throw up but she insisted to power through. Our wedding director advised her to leave because she was putting all of us at risk. One of the bridesmaids had to step up and do half of the girls makeup, and we also had to call in another hairstylist since we were running late for a WEDDING because of this. The person who did my brides makeup didnt even refer to the photo they asked for and used black eye shadow we had to fix the makeup artists work after This all would have been fine if it wasn't for the heinous way the company handled this situation. Not only did they not reach out until WE DID and claimed "we beat them to it" but they felt that they only needed to give my sister $130 refund, for the $2k that we paid. We DID NOT get the service we were promised. If they weren't deleting reviews then this wouldn't be a post I'd be writing. So overall: the makeup artists were very nice and sweet. We get that bad days happen, and that's fine. There could have just been so many Other ways to prevent all of this from happening, which they didn't do. I cannot say enough positive things about the ladies at All Dolled Up! Lindsey did my hair and makeup for my wedding day. She was so much fun to work with during the trial and made my wedding day prep go so smoothly. My hair stayed put all night with so much (pre COVID restriction) dancing. The team did hair and makeup for my bridesmaids, officiant, mother, and future sister-in-law. We had a slight mix up with how many ladies I had paid for in the contract verses how many were on the day of schedule, but that was ironed out quickly by Melissa and well before the day of my wedding. They were so understanding and helpful in postponing, and Lynsee was a joy to work with leading up to the day. Super helpful, responsive, and accommodated many last minute changes :) Our team the day-of rocked! Jackie did my hair and make-up, and I couldn't be happier. It was even better than my trial (which was done pre-covid with a different artist, so quite impressive!), and I am so grateful for her! My previous hairstylist canceled just 3 weeks before my wedding, and so I was frantically trying to find someone else. All Dolled Up responded to my emails quickly and luckily had availability! Dania at All Dolled Up did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I LOVED IT! I had a quite a few concerns after my trial run and started to get nervous but I brought up all of my concerns through my Honeybook messaging and they were all addressed the day of! My sister and mom also wanted to have Dania put on eyelashes for them and they were able to accommodate that request with less than a weeks notice. My hair hung in there the whole night and Dania perfectly captured the updo I was wanting and showed off the hairpiece I had made for myself perfectly! My makeup looked natural and light, just the way I wanted. I was so happy with how it turned out I was taking selfies in the car on the whole ride to the venue haha I did have some communication issues through Honeybook where I guess messages and payment requests that should have been automated weren't getting sent? Melissa did my hair and makeup for my wedding at Scribner Bend and was beyond excellent!! She is a true artist and made me feel so beautiful for my wedding! The look she created was EXACTLY what I was envisioning and she took the time throughout the process to listen and make sure every detail was perfect along the way. I was concerned that the look I wanted would not be achievable due to my fine hair but it was nothing for Melissa--she had great tricks and tips and created the most beautiful look. In addition, Melissa has such a fun personality and made me feel relaxed on my wedding day! Two stars for my girls zoey and kayli. They were awesome and helped me so much. Their managers were less than helpful. My best advice is to really read through the contract before you sign, because once you sign, it is impossible to get out of. Also do your research before buying the hair extensions!!! The manager suggested I buy way more hair than I needed and not only was it expensive, but I couldn't use half of it because it was too much for my thin hair. But if you do book with them, I suggest zoey and kayli for sure. read more

AMAZING! The owner and primary stylist, Melissa, was such a joy to work with. She clearly loves what she does and goes out of her way to make you feel special throughout the entire process. Despite working at hundreds of weddings, she is still so excited to share in your special day. Everything throughout the process was seamless, from introductions, to payments, and of course to the hair and makeup itself, both for my trial run and the wedding day. As someone who rarely does hair and almost never wears makeup I really appreciated how much Melissa listened to me and created a beautiful and natural look. She suggested a few things like eyelashes and a little bit darker of a lip and I am sooooo happy she did as it really made my makeup pop in photos. All of my bridesmaids were equally happy with their hair, in fact one of them is using All Dolled Up for her upcoming wedding in September. What I appreciated most was just how important it was to Melissa that everyone be happy. After my mom had her hair done by another stylist, Melissa could tell she wasn't loving it, no problem she quickly sat her down and did it herself and my mom was overjoyed.
