It's been 4 days since I received one of the worse haircuts of my life. I wasn't going to post a review but I need to. The stylist ( loose word for her) did not listen to what I asked for at ALL. She gave me the standard, man's type hair cut. No sense of style and she cut the 16 weeks of growth I was trying to keep. We've gone to this location on and off for some years and normally I would give them 4 stars but this visit was not as great . I am still fixing pieces of long or uneven pieces on my middles hair . It really depends on who you get and the lady was nice I feel bad but this wasn't a great cut and we had a picture of the hair cut my middle got the last time we were there that we showed her. It's not horrible but only cause I know how to fix it . Went in today to get a haircut and the lady that did my hair did a terrible job. I asked for 2 on the side and a combover on top and the sides look fine but when she started cutting my hair on top the way she was cutting it was so weird. Most people that I've been to would have a technique to doing it or take their time to make sure everything looks good but she just brushed everything to one side and cut it and then pushed everything to the other side and did the same thing. Wow, what a travesty... My ex-wife took the kids to get their haircuts for the new school year, and I am still in shock that a "stylist" would think such bad haircuts were acceptable. The really sad thing is that my youngest started pre-K this year, so photos were an absolute must, but his haircut was beyond bad. Shame on you, Great Clips. I understand that your stylists are encouraged to spend less than ten minutes per haircut, but come on. Any respectable "stylist" would not want their name associated with such a horrible hack-job, and this isn't the first time my kids have gotten a bad haircut from you guys. I prefer to take them to my barber, and they have NEVER had a bad cut from him. Unfortunately, Mom tries to save a few bucks by taking them to you guys, and the results are always bad... but this time was over-the-top bad. I wish I could remember her name, maybe Tanya she had shorter hair w/different colors. She was amazing, I have a walker and she was very accommodating and made sure I was comfortable. She was so nice, cut my hair exactly how I wanted it and was so quick. The salon was very clean, a lot of room for each person, and no wait, didn't have to make an appointment. I had no clue how cheap the cut was, only $19. Way better than Supercuts and even most salons. Very impressed and will be recommending them to family and friends. Just wanted a trim. I got it. And because it was a grand opening, I only paid $4.99! Daniel did a good job--I mean you basically can't mess up cutting a few inches off long hair. The thing I DID like, was he didn't cut off too much. Anyone with long hair knows this is an issue. I've had stylists who think they know what I want and cut WAY too much off. This stylist actually listened to me and helped me by making reasonable suggestions. I'll go back. They take walk-ins only but you can go on line and get in the que then show up a few minutes before--this way you can avoid waiting for an hour or more. I'll go back and review again. I usually like coming here, and I tell everyone how great it is. But today I have no idea what went wrong. The lady asked me how I wanted my hair and asked i told her to take it up higher (just because of the way my hair grows) she ended up taking my hair all the way up on one side and faded the other side. So now it looks like I have two different hairstyles going on at one. It so inconsistent and unprofessional looking. I know it's just hair and it'll grow back (especially because mine grows fast) but if you're going to pay to get a haircut, you should expect something that doesn't look like you did it yourself. This is actually outrageous. My child went in for a haircut today and the lady who greeted me at the front was very disrespectful. Her name was Ashley. Big Latina with the long thick bird wing lashes. Her attitude is shit just like her skills. From the minute she was searching his name she was giving attitude. I went up to her after she started to tell her to cut 2 inches off the top and she raised her voice and replied okay with a terrible tone. Even my child noticed when we got in the car he pointed it out. He said she was being very rough and pulling his hair when trimming the top. Frankly, this is unacceptable. Someone who is in a bad mood or just have a terrible personality should not be working in customer service or let alone with kids. I dont pay $20 just for bad service and a horrendous cut. I'd rather pay a couple more dollars for great haircut and great service. Definitely will be my last time. As a family of seven, you lost seven customers. read more

The last time my husband got his hair trimmed, I noticed each girl was cleaning and sanitizing their stuff. That made me happy to see. I'm giving a high rating to this place not because I am any expert in hair styling or how well they are doing that here, but because they did what I needed them to. I usually get my hair cut elsewhere, but my regular barber has decided that he doesn't believe in masking. As one who lost a close family member to COVID in November, that is not OK with me at all. I settled on Great Clips today because, frankly, it was the first place I found in Clovis where it appeared that masking procedures were indeed being followed. And, in fact, I did notice there that all of the workers and customers were masked, with partitions between the chairs. Second, I wanted to get out of there quickly in order to minimize any potential exposure time. Accordingly, I started my stopwatch when she began work. Less than twelve minutes elapsed between that moment and the time I ended up leaving. Granted, my hair is pretty simple to cut (especially since there is nothing left in the front or on the very top to worry about cutting), but I was still glad that it was an efficient process. There are other reviewers here who have comments on how well the stylists do the job of actual, well, styling, but I cannot speak to that very well myself. It has been three hours and the back of my neck is still red and hurts. She had the clippers going sideways on the back of my neck. Were you taught anything in hair cutting school? came here during their grand opening, got a basic male haircut. for $6.99 special. i should have called and made an appointment, because it was super busy! i only waited about 10 minutes so it was okay, they were very nice and helpful. i told them i wanted a double 0, i've never had a problem with that before at any other stores (i.e.) supercuts and other places. this place only one of the staff members had the 2x0 clip so i had to wait for just her, but once it was my turn i told her how i wanted my hair she did a great job, made sure that it was the way i wanted. the only thing i would recommend is that make sure you make a reservation ahead of time, well on the weekend unless you have extra time to just wait and sit around. read more
