I usually have great experiences at Great Clips and have been going there since moving to AZ 10+ years ago. I normally go to the one located on Smith-Enke and never have bad experiences; however, yesterday, my daughters and I checked in online at The Wells location. We made it in a little before receiving a text to walk in. We were called on and advised that all we could get were trims and no layers as they had other people checked in after us. I asked her if our cuts were based on a first come first serve basis and if cuts are determined on who gets what before they close. She said we normally could get what we want but since there are people behind us, all we could get were trims. (Definitely a first for me.) All this being said with passive-aggressive rudeness. My youngest had her hair trimmed and my oldest and I decided to hold off since we wanted to re-layer our hair. I noticed the hairdresser did not part my daughter's hair prior to trimming. She just brushed out the tangles at the bottom and proceeded to trim. The trim itself took no more than 3-4 minutes. Once she finished, she realized no one else came in and then offered to layer our hair. My older daughter and I declined for fear that she would do a rush job once someone else came in. (Mind you, we were in the salon 1.5 hours prior to their posted closing time.) This morning while brushing my daughter's hair, I noticed her hair was trimmed a little shorter on one side and there are stands that were still left long. The hairdresser literally had one job; nothing extra and nothing special-- a trim. (Also, let me mention that this specific hairdresser took her time with the man before us and even went as far as trimming his eyebrows.) Customer service training, skills training and even system management for their online check-in system is definitely needed. If I could, I would give no stars but I'm giving 1 star for the fact that there is an online check-in system that tells you how long your wait could be; however, with yesterday's experience, it seems even that is useless. read more

This place is awful. Time to get you in, great. Quality of a man/boys haircut, absolutely horrible. My son asked for a fade and to leave it long up top. Extremely simple and something all ENTRY LEVEL stylists should be capable of doing. You could see 3 different hair level lines in his hair. The guy messed up the back, cutting the hair line choppy/wavy, and didn't even attempt to straighten out. When asked about it, he said that's a fade, a great fade. I don't see anything wrong with it. They offered to have another stylist fix it, but while there I saw two other "stylists" mess up 2 other boys hair cuts. 3-4 stylists there messed up 3 fades with 10 minutes of each other. One cut too short around one ear and didn't adjust for the other side. Kid had a cul-de-sac behind one ear. The other had a huge patch on the back that wasn't blended. Looked like a patch of grass skipped over in the middle of a yard. Close this place down and take their licenses. None of them should practicing. Go at your own risk. read more

Went in for a simple trim and facial framing. A young girl who looked very nervous and looked unsure of herself trimmed my hair. She didn't talk at all or make any eye contact. She doesn't know how to trim hair or work with customers. My hair didn't look good. If someone can't even trim hair, they shouldn't be in a salon. read more

Terrible haircuts. I took my two kids there to get their haircuts. One was a trim with a comb over and the other spiked, both by separate stylists and so help me lord, they are some of the worst haircuts I've ever seen. I had to tell the old lady to put gel in his hair because she put nothing but water... after I bought the gel. This place is a joke. For 60$ I could've done it better myself. I will never again go back to great clips. EVER. It seems as if both of the stylists got their licenses at auto zone across the street. read more

Entered the salon early Saturday morning. Tim was exceptional. Did a fabulous job on my short hair.

My daughter went there for a haircut and told the stylist exactly how she wanted her hair cut. Well the stylist just wasn't listening and cut her hair the way she wanted. I don't go there now for a while and now I'm sure she won't either. read more

Went in to get a men's haircut. My haircut is an easy combover the only oddity is my cowlick. The black lady cut my hair about two weeks ago completely cut my cowlick and now I can't do anything with it, it just poofs up and I can't comb it down. I will never go to a great clips again because of this experience. read more

Seriously I will never go there again, the non service was unreal. All I wanted was a neck trim and it was like I wanted a full on hair cut. She was very inhospitable. Done never again they must realize there are many good choices out there. If you go ONLY USE BROGAN! The only great stylist they have ever had. read more

I sent my 2 year old with her dad to get a trim and her bangs cut away from her eyes. These people completely botched my daughters bangs. My mother asked me if I cut her hair myself because it's so uneven and awful. Complete waste of money. Update: they just fixed my daughters bangs free of charge. Never come here unless you want you hair fucked up, the worst hair cuts my kids have ever gotten and my mother in law came here and they had to cut her hair so short because they messed it up that were NEVER EVER coming to a great clips again. read more

Online check in is great especially on busy days. I got there and only had to wait a couple minutes and was helped by Brogan, she was very nice and did a really good job on my hair. I'm pretty simple when it comes to my hair. I will be back to see her for sure! Thank you! read more

If I could this a 0 stars I would,first of all the person who was cutting my hair cut it way to short, I told her just below my shoulders and she cut it right at my shoulders, second of all she absolutely DID NOT do the layers like how I said to do it she did it her own way, I said only a couple long layers she did a lot of layers, YOU THINK IT LOOK BAD IN THE PICTURE YOU SHOULD SEE IT IN person DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE!!!! read more

My first visit to this place was awesome however I went back today and had a stylist who kept telling me how my hair sucks and thanks for coming in to give her a difficult head of hair to do. I figured my hair would just grow back so I let her have a go. I wanted a square fade with a simple part and she rounded it. She also was very shy of using a come and clippers without a guard so the cut turned out choppy. Attempted my fade with a guard on the clippers the whole time. It's almost like it was her first attempt at cutting hair. Was a horrible experience and I was as polite as I could possibly be. Even still gave her the $10 tip. Don't go here. I'm going back to the best stylist on Earth, my wife. read more

It is difficult to explain to anyone how you desire your hair to be cut, and I think they do a great job! I have always been very happy with my haircuts!! The stylist are friendly and there are plenty of folks that go there for a hair cut. Some people are way too critical! read more

Most of the staff is nice that's why they got two stars however the closer you go to closing time the less they want to help you or all of a sudden this clipper or the scissors or this or that is broke or it's not clean so they don't want to use it which of course mostly was going to make you leave but that's what they want if you want stylist that love to cut hair don't go here. read more

Ive been to multiple locations to have my son's hair cut, never had a problem. If there is something I don't like about it, they always fix it. But that rarely happens. Only complaint about this location is the front check in person. In assuming she doesn't cut hair, she is just there to check in customers, answer phones and help clean. She is not friendly at all. Not once did she smile at anyone coming in, I'd hope you all would want someone that had SOME customer service skills at the front desk. She has none. read more

After setting appt for perm to be done and confirming with 4 follow up phone calls to them, I arrive at appt time to be told NO. Did request a specific stylist to handle the perm and then to be told NO again due to allergic reaction to chemicals. How does this happen? I did all the right things and still no serivce.
