My hair cut only took 25 min and i just noticed a week after the hair cut my hair is not even. She never showed me the back of my hair with a mirror I just trusted it was fine before she curled it. The hair washing was really fast didn't seem to wash it very thoroughly. My first time there wasn't to happy about the uneven hair length. I just moved to Maricopa and am generally very picky who I let do my cut and color however, I was attending a Bridal Shower out of town over the weekend and threw caution to the wind , and choose Trend Salon and Spa based on their YELP reviews. I was lucky enough to get an appointment in a timely fashion with a new stylist, Brenna. While I paid about 20% more than I was accustom to in my smaller home town, I had expected as much due to the location of the salon to the " big city". I really wanted to like this place since it's local. I initially booked an appointment with a girl who ended up moving. I was never given a phone call/text to notify me that my stylist was changed, and when I figured it out on my own after double checking my appointment and seeing a new name I called to confirm that the newly assigned one was comfortable with blondes. The receptionist was less than ideal about it (another story but responding with "I don't even know your name so I have no idea what you're talking about" isn't exactly great customer service). I appreciate that you have confidence in your stylists, but your clients are booking with certain people intentionally and deserve to be notified of a change. The manager got on the phone and reassured me that the stylist was experienced ("several years doing hair") and had never had an issue with any of her clients. The morning of, I had severe anxiety over going to a stylist I knew nothing about (there are zero pictures of her work and she is even listed as only a "stylist assistant" on their website) but I went anyways. Let me say, the color up top that she did do looks amazing, but you can see a clear break between the new color and old color all across my hair as one distinct line. The assistant curled my hair before I left so I didn't realize what the cut looked like until I did it this morning. When it's in a ponytail, there are several randomly long chunks of hair. I am heartbroken and likely have no choice but to chop several more inches off. What should have been $171 (I booked long cut, full highlight) somehow turned into $290. I know I have a lot of hair, but the only additional charge I was informed of was the $20 Olaplex that the stylist added to protect my hair. I told the stylist at the beginning that if she didn't think she could get through a full highlight in the amount of time she was supposed to then to do a partial highlight but she assured me she could do it. I walked out an hour and a half late (only 15 minutes of that was the assistant curling my hair). I would ask for a refund but based on how the receptionist treated me over the phone about my stylist being changed, I can only imagine how that would go. read more

I've had a few decent haircuts here over the years, but on my last visit, I had scheduled a haircut for my little girl. When we showed up, I started explaining to the stylist that my daughter's hair tangles easily so she had some knots and we just wanted a shorter cut to make her hair more manageable. The stylist immediately looked annoyed and said she didn't have time for this (I guess due to the knots...that would have been cut off anyway?) and it would take far more than an hour. Then she walked away and told us to reschedule a longer visit another day with the front desk. It was really off putting and rude. We weren't asking for more than an hour of her time, just a haircut, but she didn't even stick around to talk about the plans for her hair. My poor daughter had been so excited for her haircut but left in tears. We went to another salon and they gave her the haircut she wanted with no problem and no attitude about it. I used to recommend Trend and was excited when they opened, but I just can't support them anymore after how my daughter was treated. read more

WORST experience, terrible haircut, and my new car was KEYED! If you want to get your beautiful locks butchered and have a stressful experience, this is the spot! Not only did my hair get butchered, the stylist Tabitha walked out on the job, door slamming dramatic and I discovered my new car keyed the next day. The male owner of this shop was rude, defensive and uncooperative in providing whatever surveillance he may have (probably because it was their employee). I was the last customer, left in tears, I didn't pay attention to where she went but I discovered my new car keyed the next day, only car parked in front of the shop, you be the judge. I called the police, made a report, and will most likely have to pay for the damages myself without proof. This is all I can do, warn anyone interested in coming here. Think twice! read more

I was hesitant to write a review but after further contemplating I'd like to share my experience. I set up a wax with the new waxer/nail tech. It was my first experience with this waxer as well as using muslin cloth as I've only used hard wax for years. 2nd strip into my wax she completely tore off my skin from my panty line. Having to get up bleeding off the table and me asking for what I needed was horrible. This was excruciating, embarrassing and a painful 3 weeks of healing. Yes, she was apologetic. The owner was apologetic but tried justifying but she was not in the room during the incident, as upset as I was asked what she can offer for the botched job of a wax. She offered 20% off of next service as they all work on commission. Instead of the "Owner" possibly giving a gift certificate some type of compensation for the horrible experience to bring my business back to the salon. No real empathy shown from the owner but to make excuses. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND WAXING THERE EVER! read more

I booked with Amber as a recommendation from a co-worker. Since I had previously seen Amber's work on my co-worker, I knew I could most likely get what I desired. I booked an appointment well in advance, and forgot to confirm it but the salon gave me a call to confirm the day before. I appreciated the phone call because I always forget to confirm these things and many times appointments get cancelled when they aren't confirmed so going the extra mile and calling me meant a lot, especially during COVID. I arrived promptly at 9 am (I booked an all-over color and hair cut which I believe was a 2 hour time slot combined) and was sat at Amber's station. There was a small issue with another customer that Amber needed to take care of as I believe she is the owner, and she resolved it promptly and compromised with the customer to make them happy. I explained what I wanted to her and made sure to have photos ready and she was able to do that for me without a problem. While I was processing, she started her second appointment, but promptly came back to me once I was ready for the cut/style part of my appointment. I again suggested what I wanted, and she provided great input which helped me make a decision. At the end of the appointment, she did not try and sell me on specific and usually costly shampoo/conditioner products to maintain my color. Instead, she suggested a product line that is pretty reasonable in price that I had actually been looking at to test the color before I made the dye plunge. I will say that it did cost me a pretty penny. I believe it was $160 with tip. However, I have long hair (bottom of my shoulder blades), which requires substantially more product, and she used high-quality products which always cost more. Usually my hair feels dry and dead a month after getting it dyed, but it is still soft and the color is still lovely. The frizz is reduced and I'm still super happy. It's an overall win for me. Suggestions: Don't complain about the price. You get what you pay for. All the stylists were lovely and worked as a team, the ambiance was great, and she clearly uses high-quality products so it is going to cost more. Like I said, my color still looks great with minimal maintenance (color depositing hair mask once a week with cowashing color depositing conditioner when I wash my hair 3-4x/week; I've replaced my products so I only use three to maintain: the mask, conditioner, and a color-safe shampoo for post-dry shampoo) and heat styling basically every day. Be prepared for your appointment and be honest with your stylist. I had pictures prepped and ready to go and had made notes in my appointment when I booked letting her know that I wasn't sure if it could be done but would be getting a cut regardless. She appreciated that I was prepared since I didn't waste her time trying to find the right picture. Also, I made a mental note of which color she used so that way if she can't remember, I have it on my phone. Most people have smartphones nowadays and they almost always have a notes app or you can text yourself the information. Although it is important for them to know what you have done previously, it is not necessarily their job to have a book detailing every last action at your last visit. General notes are usually there, but don't expect a full story detailing every part of your last two hour appointment. Make your follow-up appointment when you check-out. I know Amber is busy, so I rebooked that day to ensure I could get back with her to recolor. I wouldn't recommend calling two days before you're leaving for a 3 week vacation in the Bahamas and expect her to fit you in no problem. Be courteous. Maricopa is literally an island for everything. We have very few grocery stores, restaurants, salons, etc. Therefore, the ones that are above average will be busy and can feel overwhelmed. This is even worse with COVID. Give all the employees some grace and realize that they are just trying to make you happy and give you a great service and they may be having a rough day and feel overwhelmed. They're people too with families and lives. read more

I recently moved into Maricopa from out of state and was nervous about finding a new salon for myself and my daughters. I heard good things about Trend and thought, "well, let's try them out." I was first impressed when I made our hair color appointments. The woman making the appointments was friendly, helpful and very patient with me as I explained our needs. I was next impressed when my 16 year old daughter went for her partial foil and cut- this was going to be her very first time getting her hair colored. I intended to go with her but ended up not being able to go as planned. So she went on her own, and Chelsea, the stylist, put us immediately at ease- we spoke on the phone during the appointment and we were able to come up with a game plan. I felt confident that my daughter was in good hands. And boy was she, because she came home looking like a million bucks and was on cloud 9! My appointment was the next day with Chelsea also, for a partial foil. I walked into the salon and instantly loved the way the salon was set up, very chic and modern yet approachable and comfortable. I sat in Chelsea's chair and showed her my reference picture and we again, came up with a plan. I felt comfortable and confident with her skills to take my hair from crazy roots and grays to something great. During my time with her, she let me know she was moving out of town. I was definitely bummed to hear that, as I could tell she would have been an awesome person to continue seeing. However, she gave me a referral for another great stylist in the salon. But she said, all the stylists were amazing. And as I watched the others around me during my appointment, I could see she was right! At the end of my appointment she dried and styled my hair and I was blown away- my hair was super shiny, and looked incredible! Probably one of the very best highlights I've ever had. So impressed with the service and skills and also the friendliness of the staff at Trend. I was so happy to make my return appointment and an appointment for another daughter. I felt pampered and pretty as I left, and relieved and thrilled to have found such a gem! read more
