I had shoulder length hair and requested a trim. After about 1-3 minutes the young lady was finished. When I got home and looked at the back of my hair it was ruined and chopped up on one side and the other side was basically untouched. Found out later she was just in training ?? I went back the next day to see if another person could straighten it out for me. The lady was very sweet and tried and after a lot effort I had still very uneven gaps in my hair and short just below my ears. It looks horrible and there is no way to make it look ok. A short time ago my friend got her haircut at Pooler location. Michelle cut or tried to cut her hair. My friend was so very upset at the cut. Front one side longer than the other. Back was a mess. Totally bad cut marks that looked terrible. Anyway a complaint was made n they never offered a refund or even a sorry. Michelle left very soon after that was end of her shift n my friend's haircut was result of end of her shift. The other stylist said that they would get manager to contact us. Never happened. My friend tried again calling to speak to manager n they said they would get back to her. Well we were just wondering if 2024 was the year they would offer an apology n refund of money. Absolutely the worst haircut of my life! When you sit in someone's chair, you trust in them that they know what they're doing. I asked for a trim and got a complete opposite of what I wanted. My hair was one length to the middle of my back, and now I have uneven layers that are choppy, it looks like I have shelves and it's right before my shoulders!!!! Never have I ever have seen such a horrible haircut.. I've cried and cried because I've tried flat ironing it to see if maybe I can style it, or maybe hide some problem areas, and honestly it made it worse because you can see where the blending isn't even there! I will NEVER EVER come back to the place!!!!! Even giving my money back would even matter.. if I can save someone who is new to this town, save your hair and go somewhere else hunny because I don't want this to happen to anyone else! My whole family gets their hair cut here. They are pretty cheap and are constantly mailing coupons for $7.99 haircuts. You can check-in on-line or on a free smart-phone app and as soon as you walk in the door they take you right away. They also take walk-ins. They keep the clipper settings for my husband and son in the computer which is always nice because sometimes my husband forgets what kind of guard number he usually likes. Every stylist we have had has been nice and professional and we are always happy when we leave there and feel like we got a great haircut at a steal. read more

Getting your hair cut any one of these strip-mall-franchise-chains is always a hit and miss proposition ... I've had horrific cuts at this location before, as well as the competing chain across the highway and others in the local area. The bottom line is, some stylists are good, other lack experience. With those odds, getting a trim here can be a lot like a trip to Vegas: you hair either comes out a loser or a winner. Fortunately, this location has Cathy, a mature stylist who knows what she's doing. Not only will she have your hair cut fast, but it will be done exactly the way you like it. She's precise: No touch ups at home or trimming or errant patches of hair that might have been missed are needed. You can tell that she has the knack just by the feel of what she is doing. Plus, her cuts last a few weeks, minimum. So, take my advice and call ahead or make an appointment over the Interweb and ask for Cathy. I can only hope that she doesn't quit or find another place to work when the staff churns, for if so, it's back to playing those cutting games of chance ... read more

My directions were simple. give me the lowest fade you possibly can and don't touch the top. it's a pretty simple haircut and you should never even come close to the top of my head. lo and behold, my incompetent stylist starts cutting the hair the rests on the top of my head. I stopped her and pointed this out to her to which she replied that she wasn't and began arguing with me. fast forward 5 minutes and she is spraying my hair with water and getting scissors out. I stop her again to ask her what she is about to cut since she has already messed up once. she then got upset and asked if we wanted to trade seats claiming she knew what she was doing while looking at the stylist next to her and rolling her eyes blatantly mocking me as I sat in the chair. To my stylist, whatever your name is. I think you may forget what the customer/stylist relationship is at any hair cutting establishment is. I tell you what I want and what to do, and you do exactly that. If you do anything other than that, then you in fact do not know how to do your job and are not good at cutting hair. Your only job as a stylist is to cut my hair exactly how I tell you. So if I tell you, you are going to high, that means you're going to high. so in closing, thanks for messing up my hair, which will take two weeks to fix. you suck. anyone that wants to avoid the same mishap, just don't go to the lady with the blonde "let me see your manager" haircut and the loud annoying voice. she is pretty hard to miss. read more

Just look what this woman did to my hair in the photos section. End of story. I have gone to this location once before and they only cut 1/4-1/2 an inch off exactly like I asked since it's only supposed to be trimmed... my notes say the same thing for all great clips (trim 1/4 inch and angle bangs). This time a woman took more than 3 inches off and even more where she used her crazy layering "technique"... it usually comes out one length, doesn't have holes in it, or chunky shelf-like layers that aren't even straight. Would give NO stars, if I could. Used to be a decent place to go for a cut when it first opened, but not now. Why do they even bother to have you check-in on line, only to have you sit way beyond your wait time. Then they send you a text saying, "You're up...in about 15 min. You may still have to wait." They call names of people that aren't even in the shop (likely walked out without a cut!). People walk in after you that are obvious friends of the staff and they take them right away. They also spend way more time chatting than cutting hair. Don't stand there with the razor in your hand for minutes at a time just talking and not cutting a single hair. This all happened to me once, but I thought I'd give them another try. But no, the exact same experience again. This location is not a business, it's a social club, is so mismanaged and just needs to close. read more

After I moved to Poolar area I went to this Great Clip store for last three times. Two times Shelby and another time another young women (cannot remember her name, but was done on August 5, 2018) cut my hair. They did a wonderful job. This morning (Oct 14) I went for hair cut and this time I was looking for the same hair stylist(s) but did not find any of the previous one at that time. I winded up with Denise. My hair cutting was completed in less than a minute and then she removed the black cloak (I donot know exact terminology). I pointed out my hair is not done yet. I clip/comb my hair from the left to right ant there is part all my life which is more than 50 years. When I pointed out to Denise not finishing the job, she started cutting back again without putting the black cloak back and became angry. Top of it she started arguing. I directly and on her face told her doing a very sloppy job. She became more angry and finally completed my hair cutting in less than five minutes..., extremely misbehaving and argumental instead of behaving professionally, and giving a customer satisfaction. I wanted to talk to the store manager for her unprofessional job. Denise provided a name, Annette, as a store manager but she was not available at that time. Been going here for almost a year now and got a horrible haircut by an older woman. I definitely will not get one by her again even if I'm assigned to her. She was gruff, barely touched the top or front of my hair and said she was done. Had to tell her she wasn't, she just gave me attitude the whole time. Went in and 2 employees had customers, signed in and waited more than 40 minutes for them to finish cutting their hair then 1 got off work and left, the other walked around on her phone for 10 minutes while a new employee clocked in. I went to Great Clips in Pooler GA today. I explained how I wear my hair and told Heidi, the stylist, that I wanted the same cut and only cut off one inch. I watched 2 to 3 inches of hair fall in my lap and on the floor. I had told her that I hadn't had my hair cut in 5 months because it was cut way too short. When I left, I told her that I would have to wait another 5 months for my next cut. I am NOT happy. I am angry!!! read more

I have been going to Great Clips for years. I go to to different stores depending on where I am but the Pooler location is by far the best. The stylist are all older and experienced. No giggly young girls that can't cut hair. I have had many bad cuts at the Great Clips in Port Wentworth and Richmond Hill but never a bad cut in Pooler. I actually go to Pooler to get my haircuts fixed when I go to other Great Clips. Sign in online and you will get an estimated time to arrive at the shop. There are a few instances where a business large or small, has a chance to really make there customers feel valued. Well this is not one of them. Ok so the app to sign in is pointless, since they will simply skip you for the next walk in. I signed in. I Didn't know that it was cash only due to an error with their register. I was early and checked in. I noticed the cash only sign and informed the lady I would be right back. I walked next door to the ATM and was back in 4 min. Only to be told that the lady who walked in right before me, who had not checked in and was earlier told would most likely have to wait about an hour had been put in my place. When I returned I asked if I had been skiped. Her reply was matter of fact and careless "Oh, yeah, well you wernt here." to which I replied "but I told you would be right back, and I would have been if I didn't have to go get cash." she relied by Simply quoting to me that it was policy to take first come first serve. Yet as I waited. Another gentleman walks in and had checked in. He checks in at the desk and is immediately taken to get a haircut. What happened to policy, and first come first serve. I was there before that guy. So what gives. I'm not disturbed by being passed over what I'm disturbed by is her seemingly unapologetic attitude and her willingness to make me feel as a customer insignificant. No attempt to try and work with me. I as a customer am doing you a favor by signing in on an app and letting you know I will be there, and that I am a loyal and regular customer, the least you can do is make me feel like a valued customer. read more
