Julia at the Shrewsbury NJ Great Clips is a lifesaver. I went to a very high-end salon and got a terrible haircut. It was uneven and not what I wanted at all even though I brought a picture. After being told the haircut 'looked fine,' I went to Great Clips in Shrewsbury and Julia recut my hair. What a difference. It's still shorter than I wanted it because the high-end stylist butchered it, but it's even and will grow out beautifully. Thank you Julia and thank you Great Clips! read more

Went in with no one physically waiting. Monica kept telling me about other people checking in online would be taken 1st. Got it. She then took me because no one showed and I got nothing that I asked for. She was told to cut it short and remove all dead ends. My husband needed a haircut while we were home visiting family. I suggested GreatClips to him though he usually goes to SuperCuts and I didn't want to fight crosstown traffic to get there and this was on our route of errands. Overall, I was happy with the service. The price is right, the place was clean, and our overall wait time was about 10 minutes for him to have a chair. (Though, does that seem long? For a Wednesday afternoon? Not sure.) I was surprised that this stylist didn't have thinning shears -- though his cut came out well. Overall, I would return. read more

I've gone to Great Clips in Shrewsbury for several years. Always using the same hair stylist, who always did a really good job. Apparently Great Clips in Shrewsbury changed management sometime in June. Fine. I discovered my favorite stylist was no longer there. OK, that happens. A sweet gal named Jenna did my hair on that visit. OMG, she did a fantastic job. I called today to check her work schedule for next week. Now she's no longer working there. Great Clips is quick, easy, and very reasonable. If you need a quick cut or trim this is the place to go to. Adult haircuts are $15 dollars and about 15 minutes long. I had Olga and she did an excellent job. She asked me what I wanted and gave me exactly that, very thorough. She was also very nice to talk to. Will definitely be back! read more

I had a horrible experience at Great Clips. I stopped in Great Clips for a shampoo and blow dry. The stylist who serviced me did such a horrible job with the blow dry that another stylist had to step in, re-wet my hair and blow it out. Although the second stylist did a good job, I had to wash my hair the next day because they put so much serum in my hair it made it very greasy. I would normally get 4 days before another was wash needed. Neither stylists apologized or seemed very concerned that I was so unhappy. When I got the register to check out, to my surprise and shock, I was charged $41!! Outrageous amount for a wash and blow dry. Not a friendly place. Written on the bottom of the receipt it states " Your complete satisfaction on all services and products is fully guaranteed!" Not the case. I do not recommend the Shrewsbury Great Clips. I had been a loyal customer at this location for over a year. I recently went back and discovered my usual stylist does not work there anymore. Apparently there is a new owner which caused a mass exodus of the better stylists. I had a $6 coupon for haircut, so I went forward with the haircut. My hair was cut by Fabiola who is the biggest clutz. She dropped the comb FOUR times on the dirty, hair-laden floor and she picked it up and used in my hair again without rinsing it off. She also dropped the hair clips on the floor and put them back in my hair without trying to rinse them off. She justified the comb droppings and explained that she is only cutting hair part-time and has an office job full-time. I now have the biggest lice infestation. The haircut may have only cost $6, but I had to spend $16 on lice shampoo. Fabiola also had the audacity to ask me my nationality. Now that all the experienced stylists are gone, the quality of this salon has declined. There is nothing left there but novice, inept stylists who don't even know how to hold a comb in their hand for a ten minute haircut. read more

I was told that Great Clips was under new management and was informed that two of the hairstylists, that I thought were gems, were no longer there. So I thought I would take a chance with the new group on staff. As I sat there watching the girls work I noticed one girl who was working a gentleman and said to myself, wow she is so meticulous and really took her time to perfect his haircut. She did a beautiful job. I thought, I hope I get her to do my hair (there were three girls that Saturday). Well let me tell you, she did a lousy job on my hair. As nice as she was to that man she was totally arrogant with me. I asked for a trim and shape, she had me done in five minutes. She did not take any of the time and care she did with the gentlemen and I actually was taken aback at how quickly she shuffled me out of the chair. Later found out that this Mina does not like to do women's hair, well if that is the case she should be at a barber sop and not there. I will never go back there again. Sorry it used to be a quality salon but wit that kind of treatment I wont go back for substandard work. read more
