I've been in the area for a couple of years now and have finally found my new go-to salon! As a newcomer, it was a little daunting trying to find the right hairdresser, but my experience with Salon JaDor has been amazing from the very first phone call. The woman who took my appointment was so friendly and thoughtful. After hearing about my hair type, she recommended Dora, an experienced stylist who she felt would be a perfect fit. That was so appreciated, and it showed me the salon truly cares about its clients. When I met Dora, we instantly clicked. It felt like we had known each other for years, and our conversation flowed so easily. It's a rare and wonderful thing to find a hairdresser you connect with on that level. She made me feel so comfortable and we talked about anything and everything. The salon itself is beautiful--newly remodeled and much larger than my old one. I love the layout; there are spots for clients to chat, but the chairs are also spaced out enough for a sense of privacy. Dora is not only a fantastic stylist but also a great person. She listened to all my stories and even offered some great advice. She also suggested darkening my hair a bit, which has made my eyes pop. It's a great example of her expertise and creativity--my previous hairdresser, who was an expert in her own right, never even mentioned a change like that. An inviting, relaxing atmosphere awaits with a super friendly staff & amazing hair stylists who carefully pay attention to every detail. Nicole was absolutely amazing! She took her time on my first appointment to really get to know me as a person, not just as a client, and understand what I was trying to do with my hair! My hair is complicated and not nearly as thick as it used to be, however I still want it to look great if I can. Nicole understood this and cut it in such a way that it covered a balding spot on the back of my head and everything just flowed together with my new cut from side to side and front to back! She really focused on those difficult areas and shaped my hair in a new way to maximize my style! She even showed me a new way to use a blow dryer to build volume and then style it with a special cream to create an even thicker, fuller look after I shower each morning. My new haircut makes me feel 10 years younger! I could not recommend Nicole high enough for a man or woman! She is amazing! What I really like most about this salon is the fact that the stylists do not rush when they work on your hair and they are friendly and talk with you and keep asking how you like the way your haircut is going. Nicole was super friendly and made the entire haircut a terrific experience! The inside of the salon is beautiful! Before my haircut I had a wonderful massaging shampoo. Everyone is treated like royalty here from the moment they enter the door until they leave. This is a first class operation with a large number of stylists on hand at any time and a fully staffed front desk. They also carry a large number of hair products for whatever your needs. I just dropped 125.00 ( not even including the tip!) for a glaze and a trim. No blowout or style. I left the salon with damp hair after a casual go around with the dryer to see the color. The person who cut and colored my hair was good, but for that price I probably will not go back. My advice is to be careful, and definitely ASK to clarify the prices of everything! read more

The haircut was pretty cute and the hairstylist was pretty skilled, but she was borderline racist. She kept on talking about my accent (really I have one? Wow I didn't notice before), when did I come to America?, that my English was too fluent for only be here five years, that my hair had to be curly because I was Italian ( ?????), that I sounded Russian (I legit told her I was Italian fifteen seconds earlier). She could understand why I said my husband was American. She said "but which nationality. I'm Italian American for example. My husband is a mixed so we call him mud" really? That's not nice. I tried to change the subject several times but she kept on going there. I felt like I needed to show her my passport with my visa to stop her comments. She also talked about politics and some other things that shouldn't be addressed during a haircut. In conclusion: I rather die before going there again. read more

Super thrilled with my hair cut! Ariel did my hair and she was wonderful. Super sweet! I just told her to go ahead and cut it short (it was originally maybe 6 inches longer so it was slightly drastic!) I told her a couple long layers to lighten it up and that I often use the wand to curl my long hair so I'd probably do the same shorter. I put my trust in her and came out super happy. I appreciate that she listened to me and said that she was going to add some curl like I said I normally do :) Also Gina at the front? Super welcoming, very sweet! And I unfortunately didn't get the girls name who washed my hair :( but she did an incredible job and massage my scalp. Really wonderful experience! read more

Lengthy review: After carefully considering if it's worth posting a review of my 1 experience at this salon, I felt it's in the best interest of others looking for a new salon to do so. Following a detailed consultation with a "master blond colorist" in March I had an appointment early April for full highlights, toner & blowout. Understandably it may take several sessions to highlight my hair from a warmer blond grown out highlight to a cooler shade I was overall satisfied with Julie's work & technique. After my 4-hour session I did point out a small section that was pulling brassy. Julie & I discussed & she recommended using purple shampoo in a few days & if it still bothered me to call back & she can break it up with a highlight. Not wanting to over-process my hair I figured we'll get it next time. Well... there's no next time. After calling a few weeks later (4/23) to schedule a partial foil with Julie for mid June, & after receiving appt confirmation, I was told by the receptionist Julie wanted to talk to me. We spoke that evening along the tune of Julie telling me she's not the colorist for me. She felt I was unhappy with my service & that questioning the area that was still brassy "overwhelmed" her on top of a bunch of other excuses like cutting back on hours & personal stuff. She even went so far saying she spoke to her manager after I had left (this was 4/1) & they agreed it's best I see someone else. Umm... no one contacted me following my appt with this feedback. She offered 2 other colorists "above" her (although she's a "master" colorist) & even recommended consulting with the owner Natalie to "see what she can do or if they can even offer what I'm looking for" because "they want me to be happy"... What's so complicated with simple highlights on straight shoulder length hair to warrant this bs? Anyone who goes to a new salon will "over-scrutinize" if pointing out a small area that remained brassy was a concern is considered as such. Again knowing it may take more than 1 session to achieve the highlights I want this shouldn't have been taken as an insult. If anything I was satisfied overall with the color. Now... when I checked out of my first (& last) appt on 4/1 I questioned the $320 charge as it was slightly over the $300 estimate I was quoted at the consult & was told by receptionist they charge for "quantity of product used $25 per ounce".... what!! Isn't that part of what I'm already paying for? And I was not disclosed this at the consult either. Needless to say after the excuses the colorist told me 3+ weeks after my appt when I called to make a 2nd appt., & the ridiculous charge for quantity of color used, I will not return. I guess when most businesses are struggling due to COVID restrictions this business has no interest in retaining a new client. Rude is all I have to say. read more

This is a phenomenal salon. I have been twice and have had wonderful experiences both times. My second time my stylist, Rachel, turned my medium length hair into a pixie cut. She took time to understand how I wanted my hair cut. She intentionally started my "side bangs" of my pixie longed to ensure I felt comfortable with making it shorter. When I said yes, she cut it shorter. When I asked again, she brought it even higher. She gave great suggestions on how to style it and took time to show me how. The salon is clean and modern. I wish I read the reviews before going to Salon JaDor. I see that others mentioned the pricing and how they seemed to be SHADY . That was my experience and recommend going elsewhere. During my consultation I was told my hair would cost $175 for the color process that would be done. I was pleased with the amount and seemed aligned with what I thought it should be after cutting 13 inches off 2 days prior. Knowing my cost should be less considering the drastic amount of hair- I cut off- half my hair and have been to salons in the city and overpriced ones in NJ, this def seemed on point. During checking out the front desk seemed to be going back and forth with the hairdresser Julie and was changing prices.... They than said the total would be $275! Ladies stay away them seem shady and definitely dishonest . It's not like I went from brunette to blonde with long hair. This was a just above the shoulders partial highlights w/ touch up on roots. Stay away and wish I could give a negative star review. In addition there was no haircut or blowout with hair just above the shoulders and not a drastic change. Only went due to my normal stylist and a nice salon being on vacation. read more

I L.O.V.E. this salon. This was my first visit, but there is no doubt I'll return when I am in the area. My long strawberry brown hair had a spring, summer, winter look - varied by my time in the sun. I needed highlights, lowlights - something to pull it all together! After being offered tea, coffee, or a cold drink, I took a seat at the color bar. Several customers were finishing up and it was rather late in their day. I asked her to thin my hair, cut off an inch, and gave them free reign to do as they pleased to get me together. They brought out a board of colors and consulted each other to pull my look back together. It was fun and relaxing to have them play with my hair to arrive at a resounding "Yes!" by all. They went with the basic color of my darker brown roots mixed with a tinge of red to prevent a drastic change because as it continued to grow over the summer it would be accented evenly. Megan was my wonderful stylist, and did an amazing job painting on the top color and other spots which needed attention. She also did an amazing glaze which was not an expensive addition as I expected. They made sure to let me know & approve the price before beginning. No surprises! As my hair is surprisingly thick, Megan & another more trendy adorable stylist both dried my hair at the same time. I felt spoiled by the attention. I went to this place after getting three bad haircuts in a row at different places. I just wanted to find a place where they listened to me, they were competent and it was a calm atmosphete...and I did! When I walked in I was greeted right away and after about a minute my stylist Robin was ready for me. . She was very friendly and took her time because I wasn't sure what I wanted. I ended up getting highlights a glaze and haircut. She did the highlights exactly how I wanted them, showing me a book so I could pick the color. The color and glaze were great and she put layers in my hair, something that wasn't done in the previous salons I went to. I am very happy with the result and the price was very reasonable. DO NOT GO TO SALON JADOR IF YOU DONT LIKE BEING TREATED LIKE A STRANGER!!!! Im new to N.J. and the salon is very close and convenient to My home. My hairdresser is ARiel, she knows her stuff and gives a great blow out. Ive been going there for the past year for blowouts. I have used Redken shades eq on my hair in the past and told my hairdresser that I like the results with that product. She said she would do it for me, she did and it came out gorgeous!!!! I was so happy!!! I asked her what color she used, she didn't tell me but told me don't worry she would remember. I told her write it down because im coming back in 2 weeks , I want to do it again, I have a wedding to attend to on july 17th. She said she would be on vacation until July 27th but she would leave the name of the color so someone else could do it for me. I go in a week later for a blow out with Brittany, I told her im coming in next week to do the process again. she said " we don't carry redken shades any more" I said I just got it done here a week ago!! she replied "we got rid of it this week. But we have goldwell products, I said I cant take that chance with something new, I have a wedding next week. So now im off looking for another salon which carries redken shades beside the fact that I cant find one in freehold where I live. I go into the salon today , the front desk girl who I never liked from day one ,who has no personality, and not accommodating at all. Gives me a half a hello can I help u when I walk in. I asked for Natalie the owner, she says "why what do u need"? I said " I need the name of the color Ariel used on my hair , I have to find another place to do my hair before the wedding next week. " oh no our policy is we cant tell you the color. Me- call your boss let me speak to her. her- umm shes busy doing a color now. soooo I start yelling she goes and ask Natalie if I can know the color, she comes back said no, I cant tell you , you will go somewhere else to get your hair colored. I said " Im gonna go regardless, you don't carry my product anymore. Her - no I cant give u the name of the color.. so I told her where to stick it!!!! I said you lost a weekly customer, I still would've came for blowouts and updos, and they lost mysister for blow outs toooo!!!! sorry story so long. but their personalities in that place suck! and if they come off nice at first its just phoney!!! My hairdresser, Natalie, just took over this salon, she is the new owner. She will be changing the name of the salon and re-doing the entire salon. Natalie has done my hair for over 5 years now. She also does my mother and sister's as well for a long time. She is amazing with picking out the right color for you, and I always leave t the salon super happy with the color itself. She also is open to new ideas and I have let her done what she thinks is best and its always great. She gives a great haircut too and is NOT scissor happy! Which is so important especially when you are trusting someone with you hair. Natalie is a classy, funny, down to earth and sweet woman. She is always there for clients and always fits me in when I am desperate for some hair-time! Her staff was also very nice and down to earth. They were friendly and courteous at all. Since moving to Freehold two years ago, I feel fortunate to have found Salon JaDor. Brittany J. is my hair stylist, and she has literally made my hair feel beautiful. When I first came, my hair was severely damaged from over 20 years of highlighting, and it was burned from over use of a hair straightener. I thought it was ready to break off.
