The salon itself is super clean, bright and welcoming. I especially love that they have Oribe products. We were offered something to drink and of course we went with the champagne! We were sipping on that while we got our hair blown out and it was such a nice touch! My stylist listened to exactly what I want and it came out perfect! I don't think I've ever felt softer hair on my head before! I couldn't stop running my hands through it! For those of us retired that regularly come in that is just out of my price range. In checking the surrounding area, it is not the standard to charge for gloss and blowout. In addition, no one had said upon booking that tips had to be in cash or that the blowout or gloss were additional charges. Lucky for Danielle I had cash that day. It is a real inconvenience to have to carry cash . Danielle did a great job but I regularly go in for services and the salon charges are cost prohibitive and not the norm for the area. The is not a negative on the skill but my thoughts and experiences.

Avoid this like the plague - my experience will take YEARS to rectify. Shocking experience - they shouldn't be able to operate.

Even when I don't want a huge change in style, but looking for something slightly different, my hairdresser - Cheryl - always know just what to do to style it for a little extra something without going overboard. It's also so great that she really listens to what I want and is always spot on with her execution. And she's very familiar with the way my hair reacts and behaves, so she's very in tune to what needs to be done. Aside from the hair care, I always love what a welcoming environment this salon is; the staff is always so good and friendly with their clients like the local hangout. I feel as though a lot of salons do miss this aspect. Also appreciated is the fact that there's always a plethora of current magazines. It's also right across the street from The Grove and Bagelmasters, so I can get a fabulous bagel and shop afterwards, so I make a little day out of it.

I've been going to Alison for the past 6 years at three different Fox & Jane locations, and I will follow her anywhere in the country (and probably overseas too). I went to Alison after a decade of box-dyes because I wanted ombre/balayage highlights. I showed her a few pics of ridiculously platinum blond highlights and she straight up told me: 1) I have 5 different colors of box-dye that she needs to remove first 2) She will not bleach my black/brown thick pin-straight Asian hair to be THAT blond in 1 sitting because my hair will fall off That honesty is EVERYTHING! Many of my gfs went to other salons with the same (outrageous) request, the hairstylists complied, and those women now have dry brittle hay straws on their heads. But not me - after 6 years and gallons of bleach - my hair is still thick, shiny and healthy, all thanks to Alison truly TAKING CARE of my hair. Alison listens and remembers my preferences; I hardly ever give her direction other than "more/less blond", "cooler/warmer" and "longer/shorter". She knows how to cut Asian hair!!!! . She also cuts my man's long curly hair and taught him the benefits of "layers". Most importantly, she taught me that toner is my friend, otherwise I'll look like a traffic cone. Again with that honesty. I was super excited to be Alison's first client on opening day. I took the Seastreak Ferry to Highlands, NJ (40 mins) and then a Lyft to Red Bank (20 mins). WOW, Alison's new Fox & Jane in Red Bank is GORGEOUS. Unlike the typical loud cramped salons of NYC, this salon is so spacious, and the décor is chic and relaxing. It's like doing your hair in West Elm. This time around, Alison did heavy babylights (which helps camouflage my grays as my roots grow out) and textured long layers to add volume.
