I visited this location while on vacation, and it's by far one of the stupidest things I have done in recent memory. The stylist, Samantha, was reasonably personable, but did not take into consideration the requests I had and instead just kept reiterating that I needed to step outside of my comfort zone. I will admit that was partly my fault (which is why this is getting two stars instead of only one), because I didn't have a set style in mind when I sat in the chair, but my approval for "long layers" meant the topmost layer on the crown of my head ended up being about 3" long and she gave me long bangs without discussing it with me first, which was extremely disheartening since if she had she asked, the answer would have been a firm "No". I hate the haircut and it makes me super self conscious, especially since my hair grows very slowly and even after a few weeks, I cannot find a way to style it that does not result in the top layer fluffing up and leaving essentially a ridge around the top of my head. This is especially noticeable when I put my hair into a ponytail or pigtails, both styles which I specifically mentioned that I wanted to continue to be able to wear after the cut, but the top layer makes that impossible, since it's too short to capture within the hair band. After arriving home I visited another stylist who advised to just leave it alone and let it grow out; she also suggested frequent cuts to blend it better since currently the layers are "stacked". I remember, a couple of decades ago, when Great Clips was my "go to" place for a shampoo and haircut. Not anymore. If this was my first bad experience with the chain in recent times, it would be one thing. But it wasn't. This incident just happens to be the most egregious. Oddly enough, other negative reviews for this location are strangely similar to mine. Go figure. So, let's get one thing out of the way: while it may work for some people, in our experience, the Great Clips online "check-in" system is absolutely broken. You show up at your appointed time (or simply arrive early and wait for it); and either way, it's a complete waste of time. After not finding us in the system - and then talking to us as if that were somehow our fault, even though we'd done the check-in at home on our PC - we were asked multiple times for our names, then told it would be...40 minutes. And that was just for one of us. We had an appointment in just a few hours, and that would have completely screwed up our evening. So what's the point of their system? You've got me. The manager was also rude, was absolutely unapologetic about having just ONE stylist on the floor...and rather than help deal with it, took off for the day, leaving the customers to wait. And wait. And wait. No thanks. We left and went to SportsClips a couple of miles away and I was in and out in 15 minutes. I was also dealt with cheerfully and with a smile. Enough said. Hmmm.. Ok..I've been here twice to get a hair cut, mainly because I'm cheap and I can't talk the wife into my cutting my hair. The first time was a Saturday afternoon, when I needed a last minute haircut before we went to a wedding. I called ahead to make an appointment so I didn't spin my wheels waiting in line; they obliged and told me to be there in 15 minutes. I get there a couple minutes early and proceed to sit there an wait for another 20-30 minutes while they take others who've been waiting and walked in as I did... Apparently appointments at this place are just like having a doctors appointment, they will get to you when they get to you. 2nd time around, I was in the chair within 5-10 minutes of walking through the door and out the door within 10 minutes after getting in the chair. This is my predicament as I find getting my hair cut relaxing, but don't want to pay the $25-$35 to have someone actually take their time and do it right. At great clips they churn through you as quickly as humanly possible, and this location is no different. After these 2 experiences, I may have finally talked the wife into taking the time and cutting my hair, we we always end up fixing up a couple loose ends after a 'professional' haircut from Great Clips. I had started giving up on all Great Clips because it always seemed very rushed and impersonal. However, today today Terrie did my hair and she was so friendly. She took her time getting to know what I wanted and what worked best for my hair type and face. She was very thoughtful, personable and she had me laughing the whole tile. I felt like I was getting a haircut from a friend. It didn't feel like the generic awkward small talk. She was the epitome of southern hospitality. Terrie is the reason I will continue going to great clips again and I will always request her. Apparently, she has a fan base though because there was another gentleman who came in requesting her. So, when you get here, make sure to ask for Terrie too! :) read more

Got a hair cut with one of the ladies. Very nice, however she smelled like cigarettes really bad. I asked for a fade & she did not know how to fade, left my hair very blotchy... had to go get a haircut somewhere else to get it fixed. read more

When my kids were small we went to a kiddie specialty place. They got "traumatic" haircuts. The stylist was rough, they were cut by the clipper and the cuts were sub par. Fast forward...I've been bringing my twin boys here for 6 years now. They love Miss Kathy and beg to get their hair cut when it touches their ears. She greets them like family, cuts their hair exactly as I ask, takes extra time to make sure they are comfortable to blow off the "itchy" hair. It's really hit or miss here. Sometimes you get an awesome haircut that is just perfect. Other times you get a cut that you could've done better yourself. But if you're only paying less than $15 for a haircut with no appointment, sometimes you just have to roll the dice. Besides, it always grows back. read more

Since I did make an appt and came in. I was put second to the guy that came in 10 mins behind me since he made his appt online to. The hairstylist was worried about getting her tip money out of the drawer and talking nonsense to the others hairdresser to work. Very unfortunate the black hairstylist doesn't work there. ( I forget her name) she was the best. I ended up leaving after 20 mins without a hair cut due to a long waiting time with others keep coming in. Very disappointed. read more

Yesterday my daughter who is very well behaved had a very bad experience. The stylist claimed she understood what was asked of her -shorter in the back, leave the front the way it is. She layered the back and cut my daughter's (8 by the way) to cheek length, she looks like the little dutch boy on the paint cans. The stylist blamed it on my child saying that it was because she was wiggling in the chair. her hair was to her shoulders before the woman did this. If you do go here, i hope that if you have a young daughter she does not have to start the school year with a horrible, un-fixable hair cut as mine received. read more

i told the asian lady that was cutting my hair to stop 3 times because she was cutting it way too short and my step mom even told her to stop twice ,AND SHE KEPT GOING. she did this to my brother last time we were there too. i've been going to great clips since i was 7 and have never had a worse experience. she needs to be fired or trained a little better read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY IN THIS PLACE all of them need to go back to school and learn how to cut simple hair cuts again... they have no idea what they are doing... my husband and 2 kids went to get their hair cut and it was horrible one of the ladies that cut my 13month old baby cut him twice in tha back of his neck... and i told her that he still had some long hairs and to clea it up a little bit more and she did not wanted to she said it was good thats how is supposed to look... my husbands hair was horrible as well they dont even know how to do a simple mohawk... honeslty i never leave bad reviews on anything, but this time i had to... What a difference a year makes! The wait times have gotten worse and worse as well as the stylists. They change stylists constantly! I checked in online with the wait time of 15 minutes. When I arrived it showed I was 2nd in line on the screen with 2 chairs filled and 3 stylists. One of the stylists was too busy walking around worrying about what she was going to eat. Once one of the other stylists finished they took someone else on the list that was 4th in line. They made up a bs excuse as to why as well for it. read more

I took my mother to this Great Clips this past Sunday and she was given Andrea as her stylist. We are new to the area and find it hard to find a stylist my mother likes, but the first time out she did. Andrea took her time with my mother, and accommodated to my mother's physical needs. My mother is in a wheelchair and a lot of salons I've taken her too prefer her to struggle to get out of her chair and we have to struggle to get her in the salon chair. Andrea quickly moved her salon chair so my mother could simply park her wheelchair in her station. My mother asked for a style that was easy for her to maintain and Andrea gave her exactly what she asked for. I will gladly be taking my mother back to this salon as long as Andrea remains there. read more

They are not kids friendly. My little one had haircut for the first time, the hair stylist is not nice to my kid or me. It didn't look good. She was rude and not listening / friendly. May not be all stylists like this, However I don't suggest this place. read more

I will never take my 5 year old son back to a great clips ever again. Today I took him there bc it was a Monday and all the barber shops are closed on mondays. He has school pictures tomorrow and was in need of a cut. I went against my instinct and decided why not? How bad could they possibly mess up a 5 year old boys hair that is pretty much getting shaved off?!? Well let me tell you, they all had attitudes and he was in the chair 5 mins. I told the lady exactly how his barber normally does it. Mind u he got a fade in and what the barbers call a edge up.. The lady who cut his hair didnt blend it in at all and took one side in the FRONT where she was doing the edging up way to high. She proceeded to say she could take the other side up to match.. I was like no thank you, you have done enough. When I really wanted to cuss an scream and cry. I knew not to take him to a great clips.. why did I go against my reasons and give them the benefit of the doubt? ?? They dont care at all. They hire people who knows the bare minimum of anything with hair and the ones that can get the job done the fastest. Why do u think they accept all walk ins?? I do not care what the occasion is next time or how bad he needs a haircut I would never take my son back there again. I wouldn't even take my dog to any great clips. They are all the same.
