I use to shop here all the time, and could spend all day looking through new products and wouldn't leave without spending at least 300. Today I decided to dress down, and instead of greeting me or offering help they kept walking past me and staring me down/hovering me like I was stealing. Got my essentials and left. While the store was well staffed and not very busy when I visited, there was literally zero attempt at offering any customer service. I was in the store for over 20 minutes attempting to find a new eyeshadow primer as Lancome discontinued theirs recently. As I went aisle by aisle back and forth - no less than three sales associates made eye contact with me as they passed by multiple times not once acknowledging me, asking if I needed help or even returning the smile. The trickery when you check out...I almost fell for a credit card as they did not explain what questions I was answering..they said "if you want 20% off today plus double points just answer 5 simple questions" I proceed to answer the questions until it go to Social security number...then when I said ohhh it's for a credit card never mind, the cashier was clearly frustrated with me which made the experience super uncomfortable. Newbie here to the makeup field.Not once was asked if we needed help or even acknowledgement.I had to call my daughter in Houston and video chat with her to get assistance,thank god she answered her phone! My husband was helping me out as well! I got my eyebrows shaped, waxed, and tinted at the Brow Bar and this is the best they have ever looked!! The person who did them took their time and made sure I was satisfied! I got there right before her lunch break and she postponed her lunch to take care of me! I wish I could remember her name, but it was TWO names and unfortunately she said she was moving back to her home town :/ makes me sad because I would go back just to see her because of how well she did. Omg I am so happy and excited and I owe it all to Bella!! I was visiting my family back in my hometown of San Diego California. Me and my sister and niece were out doing Christmas shopping. My niece saw a lipstick by Beauty Bakerie that she wanted. I stealthily slid behind her and snapped a pic of it. Later I went back to get it but they were all out. Not only was the two stores near me out, the entire area of California was too. I went online and it was out so I decided to wait till I arrived back in Tennessee. I called store after store. Finally someone told me I could just do store pick up online and they would show the stores that had it. I did and talked to Bella and they had 1 left!! An Ulta like any other, minus one thing: this location has a Lancome specialist named Ravin. She is engaging and always helpful. You can tell that she is a makeup artist as she knows everything about everything in that store. I think that my favorite part is that no matter how long it has been since I have been in the store, she remembers me and the last thing that we talked about. Ravin alone makes me keep coming back to this location (the staff being down to Earth and happy helps a ton too). read more

I had my first appointment here today. My appointment was scheduled for 10:00. I arrived at 9:55. Two women were standing in front of the doors, when I said "excuse me" and attempted to enter, the doors were locked. One woman looked at me and said "It's not open. We work here". Then went back to her conversation. The doors opened at 10:02. I walked back to the salon and waited. A staff member came by and took my information, seated me, and went to get my stylist, who still wasn't there. After sitting for about 5 more minutes, I asked the same staff member if there was someone else who was there and could do the cut - it was my first visit and I didn't have a stylist preference. She again went to find my stylist. The stylist finally came over, she was friendly, but did not say a word about starting late or apologize for keeping me waiting. We went ahead, and the service was average. Nothing stellar, nothing terrible. I definitely will NOT go back. The haircut service did not balance out the unprofessional start. I would suggest that they don't schedule services to start when the staff hasn't yet arrived and the store isn't open. read more

Salon at Ulta Beauty Smyrna - I generally like going to the salon at Ulta. I've been going to various ones (based on where I live) for the past 6 years. But this is by far the worst guest experience I've had with one. I've been to the Smyrna salon 3 times and each time they don't have me on the books, even though twice were re-books and I sat there and watched the stylist key it in and got a confirmation text. I understand system glitches, but all 3 times?? Not only do they never seem to have my appointments in the system, but out of the 3 stylists I've talked to 2 stylists' customer service skills are lacking (to put it nicely) and they just seem clueless. The guest experience here is the worst out of all the Ulta Salons that I've been to. If you book an appointment at the Smyrna Salon, call and confirm your appointment before hand. The Smyrna Salon at Ulta has lost my business... which sucks because I really loved my stylist! read more

I live in Nashville and drove 20 minutes to this location to get a few things before I left town the next day. I needed help at the brow bar and didn't see anyone around, so I waited or about 5 minutes. The first person I see(a manager), I asked for some assistance at the brow bar. She told me they didn't have anyone working the brow bar that day. I said can someone else help me? She reiterated that they didn't have anyone working the brow bar that day. I guess nobody else in the store knows anything about the brow bar-not even the manager. To drive 20 minutes to a store because I trust they are professionals to just be turned away by a manager who either couldn't or didn't want to help me is very disappointing and upsetting. You're in retail and you're a manager. You should be able to assist and cover in ANY department in the store. That's part of being a manager. I now go out of my way to shop at the Hundred Oaks location. read more

Love this store location! Went here recently to get a new straightener and protective spray. The staff was very helpful and they had almost everything in stock that I needed. The only thing I wish was that the store was maybe a little bigger. I normally go to the one in Cookeville, and this location seemed a bit smaller. Overall great. read more

I came here to get my brows done at their brow bar, and man was it a good choice! Jenna was working, and she is absolutely fabulous. Seriously can't sing her praises enough. She took the time to map out my eyebrows and really define an arch. She showed me everything about them before she did it, and just did such a great job! She then colored them in, and they looked great. I will definitely be going back in the future, and am so glad I found a place that does such a great job! read more

This place is awful. I dislike unprofessionalism and bad customer service skills. I like for employees to e professional, proficient, intelligent, and good listeners. But clearly I can't be mad. You have to know what to expect in these small towns and stores. Thank God I am mature, educated with almost 4 degrees, intelligent, have excellent customer services skills, and professional. I asked a young lady if she would please do my eyebrows and lashes. Although she acted as if she did not want to, she stated she scheduled me an appointment for 3:30, I came back around 3:32, she stated the appointment was for 4:40pm, I came back at 4:30 pm. She was like what is your name and I don't think I have time to do it etc. To make a long story short, if they did not want to provide me services in the store, she or they could have said so from the beginning, instead of having me come back to the store. It was not like I would get mad because a store did not want to provide me services, besides I have been to better places and received better services. This is unprofessionalism and if employees don't want to help customers when they come in the store, then maybe they should start their own businesses and work for themselves and stop being rude, having pics and chooses. It was funny because I was very nice to her and no one in the store wanted to. So one lady came back and said she did not like how I spoke to her. So the young lady lied on me. I said let me leave before one of them lie and say I was stealing or something crazy. I hate it when good brand name companies hire people, who make their businesses look bad, give their business a bad reputation. To save the trouble, I would have appreciated if Jeana had of said, she did not want to provide me services from the start. They look at beautiful women and get in their feelings, as if doing my eyebrows or lashes was going to make me look even beautiful. I literally got denied services at this store and I did not do anything. The supervisor and manager should be fired too. It's against the law to deny customer services, and if customers come in their stores disorderly, then they should call the police if they feel a customer is doing something they should not be doing. Because if they had of called the police on a customer for doing nothing in the store, then the police could have arrested them for misuse and abuse of 911, with a fraudulent call. read more

This is by far my favorite Ulta location and I am a frequent (maybe too frequent lol) customer here. The sales associates and brand ambassadors are always more than willing to help locate and suggest items even if that means going out their way or to the back to look for them. I love Ulta stores, and their products are amazing! However, this store has the rudest employees. Now I'm not talking about the managers; they seem pretty friendly. And I can't speak for the ladies in the salon because I haven't used it. But several (not all) of the girls on the sales floor and register just seem like they hate their job and don't like helping customers at all. I'm a pretty introverted shopper and prefer to do things myself, but on one instance I asked for help picking out a shade of new foundation. She acted like she was so annoyed even though all she was doing was walking around the store. It was completely dead. They dont smile when they're checking you out, and I go in there a whole lot. It's always the same experience. I don't know, it's made me not enjoy going in there at all, but you can't keep me away from an Ulta. Even though the one in Murfreesboro has way nicer employees! read more

I have been to this location several times. It is just your basic Ulta, but last week I called my usual salon only to find out my usual stylist didn't work there anymore.
