While my husband was in the chair getting his fade on, I watched kids, and adults indulge in some of the many games around the shop. Coming to a place like this, where the barbers are known for their Skillz, artistry, professionalism, outgoing attitudes, high energy along with having a bar, big screen T.V.'s, and offering games while you wait really makes it difficult to leave when your cut is done. Got it done at 330pm and was ignoring the discomfort til I went…read moreto bed and realized my scalp was already sore so I googled "cornrows hurt" and found out that such tightness can DAMAGE YOUR HAIR / SCALP. I went to sleep anyways hoping it would be better when I woke up. It wasn't. Got up at 430am and took those braids out myself to alleviate my headache and minimize any PERMANENT DAMAGE caused by dangerously tight braids. Taking them out I realized the EXCESSIVE GREASE she had put on my head, which can't be good for the hair/scalp either. Best choice ever to take them out. Something I read online stuck with me: "Those ladies know exactly what they are doing when they braid your hair up that tight." She laughed at me and said "look at you trying to turn your head!" I informed Ona the same day I took them out and she acted shocked, and get this, "generously" offered to put more braids in for free! No thanks, my scalp is extremely sore and I have a headache! I gave her the option to refund me (full or partial) and of course she refused, so I hope she loses business with this review. I'll add it to any other sites as well. PS: I should also add that Ona will not cut/shave any of your hair to finish your styling. So if you choose to risk it with her I guess you should bring your own scissors / clippers?
