I came here before 8am and the breakfast items such as muffins and scones just came out of oven. It's my first visit so i asked for recommendations. She recommended blueberry lemon muffin and cinnamon scone, which were great. She also recommended cinnamon rolls but they were not ready. I can't wait to go back to try it soon.

    This croissant is enormous!

A "must try" from their stand at the Saturday Downtown Greenville market! We are visiting Greenville and I love going to the Saturday market. There are so many choices for baked goods and pastries. This enormous croissant was buttery, flakey and so very fresh. I couldn't wait to try it, so there is a corner missing, lol. Breakfast with my family the next day, my croissant was still perfectly fresh. I had some Kudzu Blossom jelly, fresh ground coffee and my croissant.

I came here to order some bread for my daughter's teacher since she requested fresh bread as a treat item for her. I ended up getting three loaves. I told the guy what I wanted and he told me to go wait in the other line to pay. It took a while to pay and when it was finally my turn she asked what I ordered and I told her. Even though they were sitting on the counter I saw her proceed to get my order on the displays. Someone stopped her and told her that my order was already ready. Not a huge deal but a little time consuming overall. I got 3 loaves of pepperoni bread. Very delicious and savory. I will get this again for her teacher and myself!

    Over baked

I've been to many Great harvest Breads from Michigan to South Carolina. This one is the only store that overbakes every loaf of bread by about 5-7 minutes. (Either this or the ovens are running too hot). It is unfortunate, because the flavor of the bread is good, but the whole crust area is dark brown, and super tough. it ruins the softness of the inside bread texture too, as it is somehow "too dried out." Bummer!

    Oh so tasty.

I am truly upset with myself for overlooking this gem for so long. I must have driven by this bakery at least 2 times a week over the last year and never recognized it as a bakery independent from Starbucks, so I never stopped in. Now that I know it is an independent bakery, I want to kick myself squarely in the butt for not visiting it sooner. Good, well good is an understatement. This place warrants a huge Friends and Family recommendation. I will be back, again and again and again. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. The sample platter is exceptional and the bakery items....well they speak for themselves. Insanely tasty!!!! Simply put...you need to check this place out. OUTSTANDING establishment!!!!!!

Stopped in to check it out this bakery. The aroma of baked bread as you enter is Amazing! They provide lots of samples. We are a big group and they were happy to give everyone a try . You'll find things like scones in a variety of flavors, chocolate pumpkin loaf, pepperoni and cheese loaf (like pizza), pretzel wreath, seed loaves, low carb breads, non dairy choices and so many more. They have nut spreads including a peanut pecan one! We tried the cinnamon butter which was delicious. The front staff is very knowledgeable about the breads and ingredients. We found out about them when visiting Happy Cow Creamery. Happy Cow sells their pepperoni and cheese loaf. We're happy we came here. Locals are lucky to have this amazing bakery in town. Great service, wonderful staff with a really happy attitude. We'll be back for sure!

    A peek behind the curtain.

DON'T FORGET THE TREATS! Following breakfast, we decide to stop by and get some treats for later. This store is about 1/4 the size of my local store so that was totally unexpected. This was not a problem because they still have enough room to do what they need to do. In our local store the samples are on a raised self-serve platter away from dirty little hands. You are able to help yourself, (with utensils), and get what you want. In this store, you will have to wait until they are available to actually serve you because they don't want your grubby little hands in the mix. Anyway, it's something to know. After sampling, I decided to purchase the pumpkin bread and my husband decided on the apple tart. I also requested a sample of the banana bread which was more of a serving but who's complaining. I love the quality baking that has become a standard with Great Harvest. The products are fresh, simple, (not overly dressed or too sweet) and delicious. They are perfect for breakfast or a snack. If you really want to get dirty, you can warm them up and add a scoop of ice cream. We both loved our treats and will return to Great Harvest again on our next visit to the city. Give it a go!

This good ice cream shop is in proximity to other restaurants that's ideal for dessert after a meal. Personally, I'd go in the summer time after a haircut (Julio's best barber in Greenville). Prices aren't bad at all. In 2025, anytime you can get ice cream for well under $10 is a win in my book. Quality of ice cream is good. Not the largest variety, but they have a seasonal menu. The honey lavender flavor is one of my favorites and one that I'd get the next time I go back. My only complaint is one time I went and they closed at 8:20pm when the sign says they close at 9pm. Perhaps it was a one time thing that it happened. Every time I've been, I've consistently seen young family present with their children. If you're looking for a family orientated place with well priced ice cream, this place is for you.

Not pictured was the charcuterie board and Brie appetizers that were all split and devoured. What was documented was the roasted duck breast with potatoes and asparagus. The duck was roasted perfectly with the skin, crispy for the texture and seasoned divinely. Yall the potatoes were crispy on the outside, well fluffy like little clouds inside, and had a punch of flavor. The asparagus was rich with a butter and lemon note. If a plate could sing! I was in the mood for some homemade soft-serve ice cream. To our surprise we stumbled upon River Streets Sweets- an homemade candy and ice cream confectionery located in the heart of downtown Greenville. I was in Oh, with the desserts they had ranging from candy, fudge, chocolate covered apples, soft-serve ice cream, popcorn, nuts, chocolate covered pretzels/marshmallows, and so much more. Thankfully my family was there because I would have bought everything-it's a child's dream. At last I got the soft-serve ice cream I was craving all day. Let me tell you, the ice cream, gelato, and sorbet were truly homemade. To my surprise the prices were not as pricey considering they were in downtown Greenville. My family got two scoops in a cup costing $7.95 a single scoop is $4.95. The scoops are a decent size for the price you are paying. River Streets Sweets has some unique flavors that I have never heard of before, such as Bear Claw, Blueberry, Hazelnut Coffee Crunch, and Pink Grapefruit. They also serve Raspberry Sorbet sugar-free which is nice. My family decided to get Rocky Road and Bear Claw. The ice cream was so rich, creamy, and flavorful. It did not taste artificial like some ice creams in supermarkets. My whole family was pleased with the purchase. The staff were extremely friendly, especially the one member who was mending the ice cream section. She was so kind and energetic, letting my family sample the flavors before purchasing, which a lot of food businesses do not do. In addition, to my surprise, the store was huge, leaving plenty of space to walk around without running into other customers. The store was organized, making it easy to see all the yummy treats. There was no visible dirt or dust, the businesses looked polished. The only downfall would be the parking situation, since they are located in the heart of Greenville parking is limited. I would recommend walking and parking in a free or reduced parking area. The next time I am in downtown Greenville or around the area, I will be stopping by River Streets Sweets to indulge in some of their other sweet treats, such as their fudge and chocolate covered apples. I would recommend checking out River Streets Sweets if you are in the area.
