I spend a great deal of time at The Domain. I asked myself why while I was back at the Domain…read moreagain today. The Domain is now a sought-after destination - where shopping (casual and high-end), dining, night life and other fun experiences converge. You can go shopping, meet a friend for happy hour, or do something completely fun and adventurous in the course of the day or evening. One of my Finance groups hosts a monthly Finance meeting at The Domain. Shopping...some of my favorite fun stores are at the Domain such as J. Crew and Anthropologie. I love these two stores because they have unique goods at great prices, in general, and specifically, have amazing sales. If you are a big baller, you can shop at stores like Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Tiffany's and whole host of other high stores. I'm a tiny baller. Smile. Dining - At the Domain you can get reasonably priced foods to high end fare. Some of my favorite places to dine in the Domain include Glorias, Flower Child, Paul Martin's and Haywire. Important to note, most restaurants have great happy hours and associated amazing prices. Nightlife - Some say that The Domain (especially on Rock Rose Avenue) is the new 6th Street (known for its bars and Live music). I would not venture out that far. However, if you want to party in the wee hours of the night, you can do it at The Domain. Fun Experiences - You can transport yourself to fun such as IPIC movie theatre, Museum of Illusion or the Battle of the Games. Last weekend I discovered the Barkin Creek Dog Kitchen & Bath...so, The Domain is not only for humans. Love The Domain...I am sure I will see you there!

Outdoor mall with lots of popular stores like Neiman Marcus, Lululemon, Alo, Anthropologie, Bath & Body, Aritizia, and many more! An exclusive store that you can find here is the Coach Coffee Shop - there are only 2 in the US (New Jersey & Austin)! A lot of the retail staff are friendly and there seems to be stuff going on during the holidays, so definitely check it out. Also, lots of parking garages.

When you think of the Arboretum, you likely think of businesses from Capitol of Texas Highway and Research Blvd including Great Hills Trails and Jollyville Road areas. This area has evolved over the 25+ years we have lived nearby. Some anchor stores include the Cheesecake Factory, Soma, and Chico's in one section of the Arboretum. Another Area include Target, Jason's Deli and World Market. The Arboretum also includes stores like Hallmark, La Madeline and TJ Maxx (for all the Maxinistas). The Renaissance Hotel is a notable hotel used for special events and conferences and has been around as long as I can remember. You can find just almost anything in this area of the city. We lost some key businesses like TGIF, Macaroni Grill, Pier 1 Imports and Gap. However, places like Trader Joe's and Modern furniture have been great additions. The mix of stores is nicely balanced between... local and national level businesses. The layout is especially walkable with places to sit and relax. The green space at the Arboretum is truly a highlight from picnic areas near Amy's ice cream to the Arboretum duck pond. The Arboretum offers a plethora of business to frequent. The Arboretum, in general, has moderately priced goods and great customer service. We welcome you to try our niche of Austin.

I usually try not to write bad reviews, but this was very concerning to me…read more Today, when I went to visit this location and attend a event there I asked to use the bathroom adjacent to the hockey ring. There were two security guards, a short one and a tall one. The short one was friendly and opened the door. Apparently they have locks on the bathroom doors now. The the second taller security guard named Joe, who I believe is autistic, FOLLOWED ME INTO THE BATHROOM. Without me realizing it, he was WATCHING ME PEE from behind waiting for me to finish. I thought he needed to use the urinal so I stepped aside as I was done. I went to wash my hands, HE THEN FLUSHED THE TOLIET for me as if I'm a five-year-old, not knowing what to do. I thought it was a joke. I think he was trying to keep the place very clean. Needless to say this is where it started to get creepy. As I was drying my hands, I joked with him about the heavy security, and what was he doing following me into the bathroom? He then in a stone cold almost robotic tone, asked me to leave the property that I was now trespassing. Now I came to this location for an event around the corner at that same location. There's multiple businesses here. There were no signs for my event. That's why I asked for directions and then I needed to use the bathroom. There is nothing outside the realm of weird in me doing any of this. I drive a nice vehicle, and I was properly dressed for the event. At that point, he began following me to the parking lot. I asked him "what are you doing, I am going to my event" he said you need to leave, I laughed, and I said yes trust me I am leaving. And he was also filming me with his phone. (who is this guy and who hired him?) and said he was calling the police on me. At this point, we had crossed into the world of weirdness and I asked him I need to see your superior. I mentioned this to the other security guard working who pretended to be his superior. He didn't think it was very big deal or outside the realm of strange. I'm a grown adult and this was bizarre. I'm not some homeless person. I was dressed nicely, and these two people were acting like I was some homeless person camping out in the bathroom I don't know who runs that place but both of the security guards need to be fired immediately. I felt very shaken up afterwards I have never been treated like that. There's no excuse. I can only imagine what travesty of justice actually happens here I wasn't shaken up because I done something wrong. I was shaken up because this 6' 5" autistic person has some role of authority, and he should not be working at this job whatsoever. He had no emotion when he spoke with me. I'm not kidding when I say he was like a robot. It was creepy. I was more worried for the women and children that attend the hockey ring next-door, and may have a similar experience with this nut job who again followed me into the bathroom and watched me pee and proceeded to tell me I was now trespassing after I was done. I've seen this before people buy a piece of property and then they have some management company who doesn't know what they're doing oversee and manage it. The actual owner of the businesses and property have no idea what really happens here If that's how this business operates, you need to sell your business it's not appropriate. This is Austin, Texas not California. We don't treat people like that here. I have nothing against autistic people, but in this case and point this gentleman should not have any authority. He should be bagging groceries and maybe not even working with the public.

One thing I really appreciated was the kid-friendly area--a nice playground space that makes this mall a solid option for families as well. We spent a good amount of time just strolling, browsing, and taking in the variety of shops without feeling rushed. Overall, it was a fun and relaxing experience. Some of the stores in the mall are decent, there's Hollister, Pacsun, Aeropostale, Journey's, American Eagle, Pink, ect. (which are the ones I normally visit). There are some stores on the other hand that aren't great and to be honest most of the stores are pretty underwhelming. I would say most of the people working here are nice and chill but aren't interested in small talk (I can't blame them they're just there to do their job). The food is fine, I normally never get the food though because I don't really trust mall food if I'm being real. If you come here to have fun, I'm sure you'll find somewhere even though the mall is pretty boring. You'll see in the photos I put that there escalators are broken and they have been broken for months "temporarily" out of order? More like permanently out of order. Honestly my favorite part of the mall has to be the AMC movie theater the food is overpriced but I will say the theater is clean, has a good selection of movies, and is comfortable. I also got really sad when they removed the Starbucks from the mall! It was my favorite. If you want a better, bigger mall to go to, I would go to Barton Creek Mall.
