Why did Marie Callendars close? It was my favorite restaurant in Austin! The food was delicious & the waiters were great!

This is a pretty typical shopping strip. Lots of nice stores, lots of free parking. Lots of very horrible Austin drivers.

Pretty pricey theater, but the popcorn is good. And at least the drinks are big. The screen is huge too, that's a plus for me.

The Domain is now a sought-after destination - where shopping (casual and high-end), dining, night life and other fun experiences converge. You can go shopping, meet a friend for happy hour, or do something completely fun and adventurous in the course of the day or evening. One of my Finance groups hosts a monthly Finance meeting at The Domain. Shopping...some of my favorite fun stores are at the Domain such as J. Crew and Anthropologie. I love these two stores because they have unique goods at great prices, in general, and specifically, have amazing sales. If you are a big baller, you can shop at stores like Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Tiffany's and whole host of other high stores. I'm a tiny baller. Smile. Dining - At the Domain you can get reasonably priced foods to high end fare. Some of my favorite places to dine in the Domain include Glorias, Flower Child, Paul Martin's and Haywire. Important to note, most restaurants have great happy hours and associated amazing prices. Nightlife - Some say that The Domain (especially on Rock Rose Avenue) is the new 6th Street (known for its bars and Live music). I would not venture out that far. However, if you want to party in the wee hours of the night, you can do it at The Domain. Fun Experiences - You can transport yourself to fun such as IPIC movie theatre, Museum of Illusion or the Battle of the Games. Last weekend I discovered the Barkin Creek Dog Kitchen & Bath...so, The Domain is not only for humans. Love The Domain...I am sure I will see you there!

When you think of the Arboretum, you likely think of businesses from Capitol of Texas Highway and Research Blvd including Great Hills Trails and Jollyville Road areas. This area has evolved over the 25+ years we have lived nearby. Some anchor stores include the Cheesecake Factory, Soma, and Chico's in one section of the Arboretum. Another Area include Target, Jason's Deli and World Market. The Arboretum also includes stores like Hallmark, La Madeline and TJ Maxx (for all the Maxinistas). The Renaissance Hotel is a notable hotel used for special events and conferences and has been around as long as I can remember. You can find just almost anything in this area of the city. We lost some key businesses like TGIF, Macaroni Grill, Pier 1 Imports and Gap. However, places like Trader Joe's and Modern furniture have been great additions. The mix of stores is nicely balanced between... local and national level businesses. The layout is especially walkable with places to sit and relax. The green space at the Arboretum is truly a highlight from picnic areas near Amy's ice cream to the Arboretum duck pond. The Arboretum offers a plethora of business to frequent. The Arboretum, in general, has moderately priced goods and great customer service. We welcome you to try our niche of Austin.

They have a little bit for everybody and the selections are very diverse; they sell all types of things from tech to furniture to gift shops galore. There are a bunch of eateries, cafes, and dessert places as well, so when you're tired of shopping you can fill your stomach up easily. So far, my favorites to hit up are the Amazon Bookstore, Herman-Miller, Gong Cha, Bakery Lorraine, Theory, Apple, and the beautiful earthy-themed Starbucks. I'm excited to try out more places here post-Covid, especially the bars and clubs. During my recent visits, I noticed all the festive touches the whole place seems to add to each venue and major walkway. There is no shortage of cute photo ops and murals for those wall pics if you're trying to spice up the feed! Another plus is that parking is FREE and there are a ton of spaces since they have different garages available. If you're in Austin or Round Rock, you should def come visit and spend a few hours perusing this impressive behemoth of an outdoor shopping mall.

Over the past two weeks, I've had the chance to enjoy both, and each has its own unique charm. Let's start with Barton Creek Square mall, which has great customer service and stores at a variety of price ranges. It's a sprawling indoor mall filled with multi-level stores, comfortable air conditioning, and welcome relief from our Texas heat. Once you step through one of the main entrances, you're immersed in a world of shopping where it's easy to lose track of time (retail, jewelry and toy stores, hair salons and always a food court). You can wander from one end of the mall to the other, browse store after store, and simply enjoy the experience without worrying about the weather outside. Walking through the mall stirred up a wave of positive memories. As a teenager, the mall was the place to be. It was where friends gathered on weekends, where paychecks from part-time jobs quickly turned into the latest outfit for a dance, date, or movie night. It was also where a shopping trip wasn't complete without grabbing a quick bite from favorites like Panda Express or Chick-fil-A before heading back to browse a few more stores. This visit brought back those fond memories to the forefront. I found myself strolling from one side of the mall to the other, peeking into stores that caught my eye and enjoying the simple pleasure of window shopping. I didn't leave with any shopping bags, but I did leave with something just as valuable...a pleasant afternoon and a reminder that sometimes the best shopping trips aren't about what you buy, but the memories they bring back.

Everything felt clean and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. There are plenty of dining options scattered throughout the mall, so it's easy to take a break and grab a bite while you explore. One thing I really appreciated was the kid-friendly area--a nice playground space that makes this mall a solid option for families as well. We spent a good amount of time just strolling, browsing, and taking in the variety of shops without feeling rushed. Overall, it was a fun and relaxing experience. If you're looking for a comfortable mall to shop, eat, and unwind, this one is definitely worth a visit.

Some of the stores in the mall are decent, there's Hollister, Pacsun, Aeropostale, Journey's, American Eagle, Pink, ect. (which are the ones I normally visit). There are some stores on the other hand that aren't great and to be honest most of the stores are pretty underwhelming. I would say most of the people working here are nice and chill but aren't interested in small talk (I can't blame them they're just there to do their job). The food is fine, I normally never get the food though because I don't really trust mall food if I'm being real. If you come here to have fun, I'm sure you'll find somewhere even though the mall is pretty boring. You'll see in the photos I put that there escalators are broken and they have been broken for months "temporarily" out of order? More like permanently out of order. Honestly my favorite part of the mall has to be the AMC movie theater the food is overpriced but I will say the theater is clean, has a good selection of movies, and is comfortable. I also got really sad when they removed the Starbucks from the mall! It was my favorite. If you want a better, bigger mall to go to, I would go to Barton Creek Mall.
