One word -- NIGHTMARE!!!!!! Of all of the businesses I have ever dealt with this business was by far the worst experience I have ever had -- and I am a business owner myself!!! Let's start from the top: 1. We (my wife and I) book our fight in January of 2014 to fly from Phoenix, AZ to Page, AZ to go white water rafting down the Grand Canyon with my father in law. For those of you who aren't familiar, those rafting trips have to be booked a year in advance, for private trips often multiple years in advance with a lottery for who can raft it (population caps on the trips). 2. Four Days before the flight Great Lakes tells us that it is now FIRST COME FIRST SERVE ON THE FLIGHT!!!! Wait what? First come first serve seating? NO FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BOARDING!!! If we don't get there before the other passenger's we're screwed, and if we do get there before them they are screwed. 3. We had already booked flights with Southwest so we knew we would only arrive an hour before the other passengers. Needless to say we did not get there in time to get a seat on the plane. NEXT you would expect Great Lakes to say "oh sorry we couldn't get you a seat, let's get you a refund -- and some compensation for the $400 and 7 hour car ride you are now going to have to spend on a rental. Did we get that? OF COURSE NOT! Did we even get a refund? NOPE! Luckily we were able to get our credit card company to reverse the charges otherwise I would have likely called their phone number once a day to tell them to quit their jobs. Flight cancelled less than 24 hours before takeoff I purchased a connecting flight for my son in November to fly from Page Arizona to Scottsdale, and then connect via Southwest to San Diego. The ticket was a round trip purchase leaving Page on Friday April 11th and flying back on a Monday April 14. I booked through a travel agency as I was told that was the best option for booking with Great Lakes. The day before my son's flight, I received a confirmation email and phone call from the travel agent. It had been over a year since I had seen my son, and he was coming out to see my little sister get married. My father is quite ill, so we were going to pack in as much as possible for his short trip. A few hours later, just after noon time, I received a phone call from Amanda with Great Lakes Airline. She informed me that my son's flight has been cancelled. Her reasoning was that the pilots had flown too many hours and they didn't have any planes at the airport. She also mentioned some kind of mechanical issue. She said there was another flight on Saturday, but she couldn't guarantee they would be able to fly my son that day. Seriously??? I booked this flight months in advance. How can they be so disorganized to not plan for this? Additionally, I would expect them to offer alternatives, but all she could offer was a lack of trust that even if we booked for a day later, there would be no guarantee anyone would be able to fly my son to Scottsdale. With this lack of trust in Great Lakes Airlines ability to fly my son, we didn't want to chance that on Monday he wouldn't be able to make it home. We were forced to cancel both flights. The lack of compassion from Amanda and the sheer carelessness of the airline has left me highly frustrated and very upset. I do not feel at all confident that I can book a flight through Great Lakes Airlines. While I understand things happen, the lack of customer service I received in this situation is highly unacceptable. Sadly Great Lakes Airlines has taken advantage of the monopoly they have in Page to offer flights and in turn it reflects on their subpar customer service. read more

WORST AIRLINE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. WOULD NOT LET ME ON THE FLIGHT BECAUSE THEY OVERBOOKED IT, AND THEN REFUSED TO REFUND ME AND MY FAMILY....EVEN THOUGH I HAD A REFUNDABLE TICKET. Bought flight tickets in January for a trip down the Grand Canyon that left the following morning at 6am. They canceled our flight in March and rescheduled us for a later flight. Then 3 days prior to our flight they told us they overbooked our flight and could only take 9 out of the 11 people they booked. After more than 15 calls to them including the corporate headquarters they said they absolutely would not compensate us for having to drive to our destination now, there was no way they could guarantee our flight unless arrived onsite 24 hours in advance (no more no less), and that they had no idea if or how they could refund our flight. Despite us having to miss our entire trip that cost thousands of dollars by telling us 3 days prior to our departure that they are unable to take us to our destination. They are also unfortunately the only airline that flys into this site. We arrived 3 hours before the plane took off, but they would not let us on the plane, and refused to refund our tickets. We lost all of the money, were stranded in page, and had to spend 400$ on a one way rental care to page. I would rather drive anywhere than deal with this airline ever again. Worst customer service. I've flown this airline for years, and I'm not sure why it has taken me this long to leave a review, but maybe on my 15th+ cancelled flight, and this being Christmas time, I've finally lost my patience. I unfortunately have to use Great Lakes for traveling to work from Phoenix to Page, and honestly I can't understand how they are still in business. I have had so many cancelled flights, some a week in advance, with no other flights that day, and no reasonable explanation as to why. Some the same day on as I arrived at the airport, on a 80F sunny day with no wind "for weather." This airline is a travesty and I hope someday for an alternative airline to fly to page, because I will be on the inaugural flight. read more

this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They lost my luggage and would not even try to track it. Thank goodness for United Airlines or I never would have gotten my luggage back. The staff at Kingman AZ were amazing they really tried to help and kept me informed (Candy and the weekend person) The people at LAX rarely answer the telephone and if they do they never get back with you for needed information read more
