Check-in felt a bit like standing in a slow car rental line. We waited about 15 minutes while a line formed behind us, and there was a form with disclaimers to sign before getting the room key. Our room was in Building 7. The rooms feel dated, and housekeeping seemed inconsistent. We had 2 bath towels, 2 makeup towels, and 1 hand towel, but no washcloths and no pool towels. The front desk said pool towels should be in the room, but there are none available at the pool itself. Our bathtub drain was clogged, so water pooled during showers, and one of the bed frames had something unpleasant on the fabric that clearly should have been cleaned. Amenities were also disappointing for a property charging a nightly resort fee. The hot tub jets were broken, the water wasn't warm, and it looked pretty dirty. The pools are not heated, so they were ice cold in April. Ironically, the hot tub appeared to finally start working the morning we checked out. Food options on site include the Driftwood Lounge, a breakfast deli, and the Rainbow Room for buffet and dinner (reservations required for dinner). The buffet was just okay -- next time I'd skip it and order an entrée instead. The hot & spicy wings at the lounge were decent. Overall, I gave it 3 stars because the staff were very kind and the views are fantastic. If we stayed again, we'd come with the expectation of enjoying the scenery rather than the amenities.

We had friends come from around the country to spend a day on the water…read more We booked a pontoon boat months in advance because it was large enough to fit us all comfortably. When we arrived we were told they were all broken, but they'd "upgrade" us to a smaller boat. It was 2ft smaller and much narrower, and it didn't fit our group comfortably. When we voiced our concerns, the two women behind the counter were the most miserable and unhelpful people we've ever encountered. No apologies, no solutions offered. When we pressed them to help us figure something out, one of them yelled at us and told us to just cancel and leave. How did these people end up in customer service? They totally ruined our day with their attitude and reluctance to make good on the problem they created. Some of the other staff - who were great - told us this is normal behavior for these women, and a regular issue for customers because all of their boats are constantly "under maintenance". We ended up having to rent two smaller boats and splitting up our group at an extra cost.

Judy was very pleasant and helpful at the booking time, and she provided us with a recommendation for a hotel. We arrived at our hotel and called Ambassador Guides to confirm. We talked about the time to arrive and what to bring including our lunch. We got up early and were about to depart our hotel when Bill called and said that a red flag was up. He said he could not go out with a red flag per his insurance. At that time, I indicated that we had to keep moving with our itinerary and thus there was not an opportunity to stay around and fish on another day. Further, I described that we were not planning to come back to that part of the world, as there are so many other places to see with the kids. At that time, Bill nicely volunteered to return the down payment. I told him I was very grateful, and we hung up. My son was very disappointed that we could not go fishing; however, we ended up having a great time swimming as the day turned out to be nice after all. Since returning, Ambassador Guides has never returned my down payment. I have called and left messages twice with no call backs. In early November, I spoke with Judy who said I had to speak with Bill who was out of town but would call me back after Thanksgiving. I never got called back. I wrote them a letter in early December and I have still not heard back or been refunded my down payment.

You need to realize that people make arrangements in advance to make a trip like that. You can not just go to Page from Phoenix any day if you have a full time job and busy life. We think it is fair to say that people should expect from a guide some knowledge sharing, good stories and at least good mood. We think that a guide can try to make the best out of circumstances even if a day does not start perfect. All we remember is how enthusiastic you were on the phone before the trip and before you received the payment and how completely ignorant you were during the trip and in person with us. Imagine being on a boat with a guide and feeling like he just wanted to wrap up that trip asap? It was the shortest "fishing trip" we were on. $400 for that???

He drove us by the Dam and showed us some really cool markings/shapes on the sandstone walls. He even gave us a little bit of history as we drove around the lake. This was the highlight of our trip. The day before our tour, Julia called to let us know strong headwinds were expected and asked if we wanted to adjust our time. We already had a different morning tour scheduled, and they were incredibly accommodating with our plans. At the launch site, we met our guide Logan, and we were lucky that it was just our family of four on this tour. Husband and I wore aqua shoes and my daughters opted to wear their Birkenstock sandals and go barefoot, which was fine if you're okay with getting red mud on them. Logan was friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. I was a bit nervous since I'm a beginner kayaker, but he let us move at our own pace. It ended up being a great workout while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The scenery was absolutely stunning. The canyon was quiet, beautiful, and not crowded at all. We paddled across Lake Powell and into the canyon, and the cool lake water felt amazing in the warm end-of-March weather (mid-80s). They provided life jackets, offered bottled water, and Logan even took photos of us both on the water and at the end of the canyon, which we really appreciated. He also shared helpful paddling tips along the way. The entire tour lasted about 2.5-3 hours and was a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. They provided awesome recommendations for things in the area and also future outdoor related activities in the U.S. Be sure to pack enough water. Remember you are in a kayak and your items will likely get soaked. Luckily they provide one water proof bag per kayak which can hold your phone and camera. If you feel the need to pack more, I recommend that you bring your own waterproof back pack. I opted to go barefoot in the kayak and wear shoes on the hike. This morning, we followed the instructions to the meeting coordinates and linked up with our guide, Danny. From the first few minutes of meeting him, we knew we were going to have an incredible experience. Danny was genuinely one of the kindest, warmest, most welcoming, and humble guides we have ever met. Nothing about the experience felt rushed, scripted, or overly commercialized. It felt like we were spending the morning exploring Lake Powell with someone who genuinely loves this place and wants you to understand why it is so special. Before we even got underway, Danny made sure we were comfortable on the boat, helped us get situated, and took the time to get to know us. As we started talking, we learned that he has been doing this for around 50 years, grew up in Page, owns a home here, and has an incredible amount of firsthand knowledge about Lake Powell and the surrounding area. One thing that especially stood out to us was hearing about his business and his guides. Danny explained that his guides are locals rather than simply contracted seasonal help brought in from somewhere else. He spoke about them almost like family, and you can tell that he takes tremendous pride in the people representing his business. That personal connection makes a HUGE difference in an experience like this. Once we headed out from the marina, the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Danny took us deep through Lake Powell, eventually reaching an area where the water became shallower and the canyon continued to narrow. Seeing the enormous canyon walls gradually close in around us was incredible. It gave us a completely different perspective of Lake Powell than we ever could have gotten from simply looking at it from shore. We then backtracked and made our way toward the Glen Canyon Dam, where Danny explained its history, its relationship with Lake Powell, and just how important the lake and dam have been to Page and the surrounding area's economy and development. But my FAVORITE part of the entire excursion was Danny's ability to turn the trip into so much more than a sightseeing tour. Throughout the morning, he would slow down or stop the boat and point out different rock formations, geological features, landmarks, and details that we otherwise would have gone right past. He didn't just tell us what we were looking at -- he explained the history and geology behind it. His passion for teaching comes through completely naturally. You can tell this isn't simply a job to him. He genuinely enjoys sharing his knowledge and watching people experience Lake Powell. That combination of local knowledge, history, geology, storytelling, and genuine hospitality made this experience exceptional. My wife and I cannot recommend Danny highly enough. If you're visiting Page or Lake Powell and want more than just a boat ride, this is the type of experience you want. Having someone who has spent decades here personally show you the lake completely changes the experience. I arrived about 20 minutes early, but the staff offered no guidance or assistance. Instead, they were rude, slow, and acted as though helping customers was an inconvenience. It honestly felt like they were making it difficult for us to get where we needed to be. After waiting in 106-degree weather, a golf cart finally arrived and combined my family with another family before taking us to the boat rental office. Because of the delay caused by their own transportation process, we arrived at 3:32 p.m. Despite this, the front desk staff refused to rent us a boat, even though they didn't close until 4:00 p.m. The employee was dismissive and unprofessional throughout the interaction. To make matters worse, we then had to wait another 30 minutes for a golf cart to take us back. Overall, the entire experience was frustrating due to the staff's poor attitude, lack of urgency, and unwillingness to help. The customer service was among the worst I've experienced, and I would not recommend this business.

Despite it being a busy holiday weekend, she was able to accommodate us and even provided a valet service to the marina, which made the whole process so easy. Compared to other options, B&T was the most affordable! Tony really went above and beyond to make sure we were prepared and safe. She walked us through all the essential equipment we would need for the day--including a waterproof bag, water bottles, and life jackets--and gave us a detailed map with some fantastic local pointers. She also took the time to give us a thorough tutorial on how to operate the jet ski, along with some great safety tips and tricks that really helped us feel confident on the water. Tony is such a pleasant, friendly person with a great sense of humor, and she made our day even better. We spent four hours on the water (from 12 PM to 4 PM), and although it was a busy holiday, Lake Powell is so massive that it never felt congested. The main canyon area she recommended was absolutely stunning, and since there were no kayaks around, we were really able to enjoy the speed of the jet ski. Lake Powell is a reservoir created by the flooding of Glen Canyon by the Glen Canyon Dam…read more Unfortunately due to the southwestern North American megadrought that began in 2000, the water levels are lower than usual, and you can see the bathtub ring effect on the rocks. I visited Lone Rock Beach, however it's no longer alone, since the receding water levels has connected the rock stack the the beach itself. The paved road ends and turns into a quite sandy surface, so be careful and use your best judgement, especially since there is no guaranteed towing service if you get stuck in the sand. Beautiful place.

Page, while it has become touristy, is a wonderful place to visit in Arizona. I made a weekend trip…read moreto visit all of the top attractions, including Lake Powell. There are several different ways you can check out Lake Powell. One option is to see it from afar from atop cliffs and overlooks in Glen Canyon Park. This provides scenic views of the beautiful lake. Another option is to actually see the Lake up close and personal. There are several spots where you can do that. I decided to make the short drive into Utah to see it from Lone Rock. You have to drive through some rocky/sandy terrain so me careful to follow the path (unless you're in a car with four-wheel drive). Once you get closer to the beach, you will reach a sandy area. Do not drive through it. You'll see cars and RVs parked right where the terrain changes for good reason. Unless you have the proper vehicle, you'll get stuck in the sand. I saw it happen. That will ruin your day. There are even warning signs about this. Once we parked our rental, we walked to the shoreline. I dipped my toes in the water, a bit cold but pleasant. It's a great place to just relax and take in the beauty of your surroundings. The Lake is also a popular spot to rent boats. While I didn't do this, it is a popular activity. A must-visit while in Page!
