I love this place but the lady checking us out (young girl with long black hair) was not personable at all. When we asked for light ice on one of the drinks, she said they would have to give us less of a drink. I go to coffee places all the time and always ask for light ice & have never been given that response. Customer service is definitely lacking. read more

Regardless of changes I have always recommended this place to those I know. Recently they had a manager change, and I was unlucky enough to have an interaction with her. Brooke is not only unprofessional but condescending to customers and speaks inappropriately to the staff for all to hear. If the owners were looking for a way to reduce customers, they found her! Love this stop for coffee! They had a lot of options for brewed coffees ready to go. I liked that if I wanted just a drip cup I wasn't stuck to just one or two flavors like Starbucks. They have so many amazing flavors ready to go in bags for only $10! I've tried the Erie and Superior blends and have LOVED both. So fresh and flavorful, I will not be able to go back to a big brand. If your not familiar with the local area of Lancaster/ Bowmansville, NY it's located within 10 minutes from the Buffalo Niagara Airport. The business being fairly newer, has reasonable prices, friendly staff and eventually a sitting area with comfy couches, chairs and a tv...after covid subsitutes. Woooww this place is a hidden gem. I had the seasonal teddy graham shaken espresso drink with cold foam and little graham pieces. It was incredible and indulgent while being not too sweet, either. I really appreciated the strong but smooth flavor of the beans. I also had a jalapeño cheddar bagel that was pretty good. There was also a cool seating area in the back with couches and arcade machines that seemed underutilized but would be a great hangout spot. Also, the 2 baristas were very nice and friendly! I drove by Great Lakes Coffee Roasters on a Saturday and kicked myself for not turning around and stopping. Fast forward to the Tuesday after, when I was on my way to the office. (I work from home every weekday, except Tuesdays, or else I would have stopped Monday, since they are closed Sundays.) I arrived around 8am and I was the only one in the store. I was immediately greeted by the gentleman behind the counter when I walked in. There is a chalkboard behind the counter listing the various drinks they are offering including coffee and lattes/cappuccinos. I went with a cup of coffee, which like past reviewers have said, is just $1. It is only a dollar for a nice sized cup of coffee. I couldn't believe it! Why would you go support a chain, when you can support a local, small business and get a great cup of coffee for an amazing price?!? The gentleman behind the counter explained all the available coffee blends, and I liked that he told me what roast they were, etc. While he was pouring my cup of joe, I browsed the store and ended up purchasing a bag of 24 K-cups for $12. The flavors enticed me and included Lake Erie, Lake Ontario, etc., sponge candy, loganberry, hazelnut, French vanilla, chocolate cherry, coconut, and so many other ones. I will be coming back to get some bags of coffee as gifts, and also some K-cups. I will also be returning to get coffee on my way to work as well. The store also contains items made locally including honey, soap, pottery, tea, etc. The location is great, there is a large parking lot, and the prices are phenomenal. I go to this shop every day to get coffee for myself and my coworkers at least twice a day. every time i ask for a cup to put creamer in. today the owner said i can no longer get another empty cup for the creamer. He said they are going through too much creamer. So understandingly, I offer to pay for the creamer. He declined, then started to tell me why. during his "explanation" i asked a question and he snapped on me saying he won't talk to me if im going to interrupt him. I loved this place but after seeing and being treated like that, we will never go there again. it's a shame. we had never had a negative experience until today. what's the difference between putting the creamer in a cup of coffee rather than an empty cup? you are using the creamer either way! read more

Quite honestly, this review could be a 5 star or a 1 star depending on your customer service to product value ratio, opinion. That is partly the flaw of Yelp - wherein a review is really just relative to the reviewer and at the end of the day, you need to check the product or service for yourself. That being said, I have come out of review retirement to lay it all out because the service struck a chord with me. Let me explain.... The building is really cool. The modern rustic bar wood and clean line look has taken over most shops and this is no different. The ambiance is welcoming and although there is not a place to sit inside, there are options outside. KCups and bags of fresh roasted coffee is available along with some Buffalo themed items. There is flavored coffee beans, which I am personally not a fan of but that is my preference. Flavored syrups for me are good but I do not care for flavored beans for a litany of reasons, however, they have a great variety. They also have the single best prices for coffee and espresso drinks in the area and I should add that there are bakery items supplied by a wonderful bakery in East Aurora, the Blue Eyed Baker. Where I dropped two stars but your opinion can lead to tossing this review out or you may consider it a "nice to know, is that the customer service I received was bottom of the barrel. Although I was happy to oblige, I was next in line to order and the owner chose to help some different folks. He appeared absolutely miserable and clearly unhappy to be there but even in my attempt to make small talk, basically gave me some less than energetic nod. I perceived him to be even annoyed that I asked him about his roasting and the success for his business model since his prices are fantastic. I did order my latte and truth be told it was decent. Not amazing but not awful. Very fair for the $4. But I will say this, owning a coffee shop is a gigantic gift. Even if the business is struggling (which I do not have insight to and they were busy, so I doubt they are), you have this amazing opportunity to serve people your product, show them you value their business and have some form of an income. I certainly understand bad days but you are customer facing and perception does matter in the service industry. Valuing humans and where they spend their money, matters. That all being said, this could be a one-off situation which I hope it is for this business. I won't be back but I still hope you as a reader of reviews try them out. Should the customer service continue to suffer, there are other local options where your entry in to their business means the world to them. If maybe they about-face in their customer service, the area has a great coffee shop option. read more

Cute establishment! Definitely worth a visit. I have been there a few times already to purchase local ground coffee for gifts to friends out of town. Of course I spoiled myself as well with Salted Caramel flavored coffee(Yum!) and Key Lime Pie(Yum again!). They have k-cups, whole beans (which they will happily grind for you), teas, honey and more!
