Quality and service was excellent. Remodeling in an old house is challenging and they made it look easy. The bathroom is beautiful.

Terrible customer service, and they STOLE MY WIFE'S WEDDING RING! We hired Rebath (from Great Lakes Home Renovations) to remodel our master bathroom in December of 24. While they were completing the project, one of the workers went into our spare bathroom, rummaged through my wife's jewelry (which was partially hidden), and stole my wife's wedding ring. We discovered the theft while they were still working in the master bathroom and I spoke to the foreman (the only decent person on the team). He apologized repeatedly, and was very cooperative, but he knew, as we did, that the ring was long gone by then. They had already been in our house for 3 days and multiple members of the crew had been in that spare bathroom throughout the project, so there was no way to know who actually committed the theft. We filed a police report for the felony theft, but of course nobody admitted to the theft. Rebath has done absolutely nothing to compensate us! We have called multiple times, and are repeatedly told there is nothing they can or will do. Total POS company. DO NOT HIRE REBATH! read more

We had a bathroom remodeled, standard layout and in-kind replacement of everything. Cost $20k to get it done but they did what they said they'd do. I put half down when signing the contract and months went by and we hadn't heard anything. I called and called and it took weeks to get a call back (thought they took our money and ran). They got the demo and remodel done in about 5 days. The two guys on the crew didn't get along but they were nice to us. Overall a decent experience but the lack of communication and fact that the 20k price tag didn't come painting lost them stars. read more

We are fortunate that our house was pretty much move in ready, so all of our projects have been to make it more of a house for us. One of the last big projects on our list was to redo our master bathroom and guest bathroom. Both had been done on the cheap when the house was built, and they needed some upgrades. At the state fair we saw GLHR and decided to give them a try (mostly because they had some coupons for money off remodels). I would totally give the sales person that came to our house 5 stars. He was an amazing salesmen. Did not try and up sell us on anything, really spent time with us looking at different color options, and gave his honest opinion on things. He spent a good fourish hours at our house going over everything. He really is what saves this from being a 2 star review. Now before I get into the stuff that bothers me I have to say the quality of the material they use is quite nice. We went with the more upscale option for our master bath and the lower end for the guest. Both are big jumps over what we would have been able to do on our own and what was there before. I am not displeased with the quality of the goods. After the sales pitch is when things started to go south. Our salesmen took an initial measure to get a quote. We were informed they would send someone else out to do a second measure to get exact numbers. Now our master bathroom is funky. The tub and sinks both have counter space around them that have funky angles and shapes. The person came out to measure out bathroom and left. A little while later we get a call saying that they didn't trust the measurements and wanted to come out and do it again. I appreciate taking the time to do a job right, but why couldn't they do it right the first time? The next hiccup came when they went to install the new countertops. They put the new sink countertop on and we went to check on it. We discovered after they had done all that work it was the wrong color. Now the countertops were custom made, so it delayed our project by another 6-8 weeks as they had to reorder them in the right color. Ugh. When they installed the counter around the bathroom and the sinks there were some major issues. There were huge gaps between the pieces along the wall. What annoyed me was that the installers thought everything looked great. When we pointed out the issue, they said that was just how it was going to be given the strange layout. What I find strange is that the countertops that were there before didn't have gaps so large you could fit a golfball in there. It fell on us to come up with a creative fix for them that we now have to call a design choice. It doesn't look bad, but it defiantly feels like something they should have come up with, not us. It is a small issue, but the countertops are exactly even either. There are spaces where one piece is raised above the other. You have to really look to see it, but it feels like sloppy work given how much we paid. My final issue is the fact that the caulking they used can't be painted. What do you want to do after you put in some new counters? Probably paint the bathroom to make it look nice and match your new counters. We tried, and the paint just flaked off the caulk. So now we have these stripes around the new counters that don't match the new paint colors. Again, it doesn't look bad, but it isn't as great as I hoped it would be. I also feel like the work was lazily done for how much they charge. read more

We signed a contract with Great Lakes Home Renovations in August, 2021, which obligated us to post reviews on social media. After putting half down on our $13,000+ project of replacing a bathtub and sink and vanity, the work began on what we were told would be a 2-3 day job in April, 2022. We want to begin by stating that regardless of the journey in getting the job completed, it was still worth it to get the job done. Our bathroom had ungrounded wires, it flooded our basement when the tub ran, and other unsafe aspects like falling tiles that rendered this job necessary, and we're happy it's finally (after about a month) fully completed. That said, if your bathroom remodel is more of a want than a need right now, it seems like it's a bad time to get this done, and I'd avoid this company until they have sorted out some deeply entrenched company issues. There were multiple issues with items being incorrectly measured and inefficiencies in getting all the materials to the job site. Our contractor was working on multiple jobs at the same time, and was often at our house alone, which made it very difficult for him to complete the job at all, let alone well. It's clear these builders are overworked and stressed out, which results in longer work times, more mistakes, and less-than-stellar customer service. I genuinely believe the contractor at our home did the best job he was capable of given his circumstances, but unfortunately that still resulted in tasks that required re-doing due to mistakes and sloppiness. In fact, after placing our sink on the vanity crooked, our contractor did come back the next day to fix it (after we had all thought the job was done), the sink water flowed at less than a trickle, and after the 3 weeks of frustration for both us and I am sure our contractor, we opted to instead call a plumber, costing us more money out of pocket than continue to deal with this this company. It turned out it was another easy fix that should have been caught by our contractor--cleaning out the aerator screen after shutting off the plumbing to install the faucet. Again, we are ultimately happy this got done and for us, there were safety issues in getting this fixed in the first place that made it wholly necessary. That said, it was a frustrating time due to both the issues around communication and staffing with the business generally, but also with the contractors themselves. I know this is a difficult time for everyone right now, and I hope the company gets the contractors what they need to succeed. I also hope that the contractors feel empowered to speak honestly and openly to customers about realistic timelines and why things are done poorly onsite. read more

First of all, I am only giving this company a 2 star review based on the crew that worked on our project. They always let me know what was happening, they did good work and were on time every day. However, without this crew....I would be giving a 1 star. We made the mistake of not getting more bids. We hired them on the spot. Things you need to keep in mind: they do not do tile, they do not paint, they also do not do ceilings. It is VERY expensive for what you get. What we got included in the bid? The shower/tub insert, shower door, 2 small countertops, shower/sink fixtures, and toilet. We needed to buy everything else. Which we knew ahead of time, but it really added up. So beware! While the plumbers were working on the tub, they created a hole in our ceiling about the size of a baseball. I guess there was a slight leak, but we didn't know. We contacted Great Lakes to see what could be done. This is where I realized that customer service was beyond lacking. They did nothing to help us resolve a hole in our ceiling. Very disappointing, as we thought they would at least help us find someone to fix it. They just kinda shrugged and kept putting us off. We had to hire someone else to fix it. More money! Bottom line, we will not be using this company again. read more

The installers were very polite, clean, and explained all the features of our front door installation. It's a great value with offers available for referrals from friends and family. Everyone we dealt with was great! It took a month and a 1/2 to get the installation, but I understand that springtime is real busy and there was no rush on our end. read more

Very unhappy with quality of windows installed. Very drafty; noise level has not decreased, but rather increased since having them installed; cheap screens, and got tired of having them come out to our house to try to deal with any complaints because they would always say that everything looked good, but as soon as they were gone we would receive a call saying another appointment needed to be made to fix the problem. It is like they knew all along the quality was poor, but never want to say it to your face. So frustrating, and not worth the price at all. read more

We had 14 windows replaced, including a variety of new and replacements, as well as fixed, casement and sliders. We spent about $16k total. I'll preface my review by saying I have no concerns about the quality of the windows or the installation. The windows seem top-notch and the installation seems very sound. I'm satisfied with the current state of the windows, and the salesperson and installers were professional and courteous when at our home. However, the process was unacceptable. We signed a contract in early September, and the salesperson assured us that we'd likely have our new window project complete by Halloween, Thanksgiving at latest. Great. Measurement guy came out a week or so later, and thought windows would be about six weeks. Still ok. Halloween comes and goes, so I call the office a couple of times before I get a callback, and I finally get a response that the factory is backlogged but that we should have the windows installed by the end of November. November comes and goes. I call again--a few times--before I get a response. Finally, mid-December we get a call that our windows are in and ready for installation. After half of the windows are installed, we were bumped for a couple of weeks more because 'the installers wouldn't want to make another customer angry' since our installation took longer than expected. So, more of the windows finally get installed just before New Year's Eve. At that point, the installers let us know that two of the windows are the wrong size and will have to be re-ordered. So we wait for those to show up, and they eventually get installed weeks later...but without the required tempered glass, as they were bathroom windows. The installer waited to tell us until after he had left. So we wait another six weeks for the new sashes to show up. The installer installs the replacement sashes, asks my wife to sign off on completion of the project and our card gets charged. And then the installer calls me to tell me that the sashes he installed weren't actually tempered glass and that he'd ordered another set of replacements. After neglecting to tell my wife so that the company could collect payment. We had the replacement sashes manufactured, delivered and installed a week later...after previously being told there was no way to rush order with the manufacturer. My wife and I have had to arrange time away from work on five occasions to support installations, and I've probably made north of 20 phone calls to try to get answers over the course of the project. It took six months to complete a project that we were assured would be a 6-8 week project. Delays were not communicated, updates required multiple calls to the main office and errors--whether manufacturer or installer--were inadequately communicated. When I raised my concerns and shared my frustration, I was offered $200. So, we have well-installed, quality windows, but we also have a 6-8 week project that lasted 6 months. Communication and customer service are not a priority with this company. Steer clear. read more

Great company! We had them replace 10 windows 2 years ago and just had them replace the rest of the windows in our house. They found water damage issues from a previous window replacement and took the time to fix it correctly. I will never think twice about getting windows from these guys. Our installers (Joe & Elliot) worked relentlessly and were professional and friendly. They do such a great job! Also their product is wonderful. It does cost more but you get what you pay for and they explain all of the benefits in their sales presentation. Thanks guys! read more

On 7/26/17 - initial sales meeting with Jessi, Renovation Consultant. We decided to renovate the master bathroom. To keep the cost down, we did the tear out ourselves. We were told that we needed to get the bathroom down to the studs. This was reiterated by 3 different people within GLHR. I was told they wouldn't schedule an install until they verified all the parts were in stock. Additionally, I was told If I was not ready on install day I would be charged $500 if they had to come back. As we have 3 bathrooms, I told Jessi this was a trial run. If all goes well GLHR could renovate my 2 other bathrooms. 10/5/17 - original installation day. The installer showed up by himself and he had the shower base. This is a heavy piece. I had to help him carry it into the house. I received a notice from the city stating that there were open permits. I was told GLHR pulled a permit showing they were doing work; however, I was to pull a permit for electrical, plumbing, and mechanical as they were checked off on the GLHR permit. As a result, this cost me over $1000 as now I had to rewire my bathroom just to move an outlet 8" as it needed dedicated wiring. This had nothing to do with the bath panels GLHR was installing. When the installer was here on 10/5, we found out that GLHR never ordered the ceiling panel which must be installed first. The job was then placed on hold for a week so the panel could be ordered and delivered. I called & left a message for Jessi with my concern. She never called me back. I called back and asked who I needed to speak with about the issues. I was connected to Brandon to discuss the issues. He said for now on I was only to talk to him. He told me people are only human & he would reschedule for next week. When I told him I took time off from work and I lost money he responded I didn't need to be there. Because of previous issues with contractors, we do not let people work in our house without us being there or knowing the people personally. I'm glad I was here as the problem of incorrect installation would have happened as the installer didn't know there was to be a ceiling panel. While on the phone with Brandon, I let him know communication was very important to me & keep me updated. A week later was supposed to be the next installation date. Installers showed up an hour earlier than agreed upon with Brandon. I had to give installers the code for the front door as my wife was not there yet. When I asked Brandon about the time he accused my wife of lying about the time the installers were to be there. The new ceiling panel was 3" too short. This was the 2nd time GLHR was not ready. I waited for a call from Brandon to reschedule the installation of the correct size ceiling panel. He did not call me, so I called him. I said I wanted $1,000 off my bill. He said I just want money. I said I want them to be held at the same level they held me to. I reminded him about the $500 I was to be charged if we were not ready. He said it was only $300 so I looked at the contract and it was $300 for one reason and $500 for another. He said let's just install it first and then we could talk, and I'd love it. The contract states if they do the install they can charge me. I informed Brandon he personally lost the chance of doing my 2 other bathrooms and I would live up to my end of the contract and report my experience on social media as agreed upon. He responded in anger that I was blackmailing him and that was illegal. I let him know I was only being honest and I following up with my obligation to the contract. FYI this was two different phone conversations as we became so angry it was best without saying it, time to hang up. I called Brandon days later & nothing was said except to reschedule the install. 11/1/2017-day before install date. Brandon called and said there is a delay on my install due to a delay on another job and the installer will be there by 1 or 2pm. I asked Brandon to give me 1-2 hours' notice before the installers arrival; he assured me this would happen. 11/2/2017 The installers showed up at 1:30pm. When I asked if Brandon told them about the 1-2 hours' notice; they said no. At this point it will be a 2 day install and we are bypassing Brandon and the installer will call me directly. The ceiling panel was installed with no issues. The installer said he will be back tomorrow and he would call me as Brandon cannot follow directions. 11/3/2017 The installer showed up with a new helper. Finished installing the dens board. When they tried to install the first wall panel they damaged a corner while putting it into place. This panel must go in first so once again the install has come to a halt. We are no further than what we were 2 weeks ago with only a new ceiling panel. Now I'm waiting for a call from Brandon to find out when is the next install date. I'm frustrated with the lack of communication. I want this project done. read more

I would think twice before going with this company, at least get more than one estimate with other companies before committing to Great Lakes Window & Siding. My husband and I had a sales rep come over in July. We made the mistake of going with them right away and not looking at other window companies. Our windows and patio door were installed in September however the trim around the windows was poorly installed and the joists were not installed correctly. We have custom blinds that were supposed to fit the windows. When addressed with the installer, his response was "Can you go to Home Depot and get them cut down?" He then made a call and told me the replacement parts were going to be ordered. I never heard back from them. In November, I finally called twice and the order was never placed. I spoke to Derek and he confirmed via email the replacement parts would be 4-6 weeks. I emailed him yesterday with no response. It is now almost January and our windows are still not properly completed. I was thanked for my patience but this is really inexcusable. When we were at the end of our sales presentation, my husband and I were seriously considering for them to come back and redo our kitchen and bathroom. After working with them, we will looking for other companies for future home renovations. read more

We just had our Bathroom shower area renovated today. And Brent did a great job with it. Chelsea was the Sales person and all materials that were installed by Brent were exactly as promised. Brent was exceptional with his behavior, explanation of steps involved. Did an awesome job with the work itself. Beautiful finishing. Also, he did a perfect job of cleaning everything up and taking care that nothing in the House was damaged. We would highly recommended Great Lakes to anyone looking for renovation or other projects. Also, we shopped around quite a bit before finalizing with them, and they offered the most competitive prices. read more

I'd give them zero if I could. I wanted an estimate for some exterior doors. The salesman kept pushing to know how much I wanted to spend. I threw out an arbitrary number as a starting point. Based on research, I found it low but reasonable. This clown laughed at my wife and I, and proceeded to take out his cell phone and book another appointment while seated at our dining room table. I've never been so enraged. I wanted to throw his stuff out the door and onto the lawn, but unlike the sales people at Great Lakes, I have manners. read more

The rep wanted to do a 2 hour consultation. Mandatory. She did not want to budge on the time. This seemed like a huge over-estimation of the information to be given and consideration of my time. It was especially odd because I had 2 other consultations in the same week that were between 30-40 minutes. She did not want to look at my tub/tile or take pictures upon her arrival. I mentioned when making the appointment that I was getting estimates and had already gotten a couple of quotes for bathtub/tile replacement. Her first questions were what did I want done? This seemed uninformed since I shared that information with the person I made the appointment. I just thought, if you don't even know why you're here, we are already getting off to a bad start. Acceptable question should have been - so you want to have some work done on your bathtub? Next questions from her: How much was I planning on spending and what kind of material was the OTHER businesses going to use. She was very adamant about the other businesses information and expected me to share details of my other consultations. I was very uncomfortable with her presentation being guided by what the other contractors had offered. I wanted to know information about THIS company and what options they had for tub/tile/surround replacement. We went back and forth on the time in which she demanded she needed for the consultation. I had to end the visit by telling her I'm sure she could do the presentation in less than 2 hours, she needed to be more flexible with my time and if that was the only way she could do the estimate, we had to end it. Keep in mind, all this happened before she looked at the project to be worked on. It is NOT my responsibility to enlighten her about ANYTHING I have spoke about with any other company. Jussie offering information and bath options should not be dictated by my previous appointments. She refused to give me any information about her companies bath options because she said it may not be in my price range. Note: This is my main summer project for 2019. I will hire someone to complete it. The other 2 companies were thorough, professional, considerate and presented pictures, samples and pricing in a timely manner. This is not my first home improvement consultation. I have had complete roof tear off's including the garage, tile drain systems, complete basement renovations with full bath reno, furnace, windows to name a few. So I am not new to home updating. What I didn't need is some 30-something coming in reprimanding me for not knowing more about their company. Actually that is her job to inform me about her company(which I didn't get. I didn't get a business card on arrival, no "let me tell you a little about our company" speech). If I choose to go with this company(I'm not) then it's up to me to get more clarification on their business. This sort of 2 hour sought-after shtick is unprofessional, obsolete and not convenient in today's world and was a waste of my time that could've went to a contractor who could be flexible in their delivery, has a notion of what customers desire with information, pricing, bath option plans for service and materials and wouldn't be abrasive when asking and answering questions. Just had Jesse(sp?) come for in home consultation. Very disappointed. She was sassy and bad attitude and essentially rude. I guess I wasted her time. Well it's not like I purposely waste an evening just for the heck of it to get a bid for a remodel. I was honestly interested in the onyx shower product. But it was such a bad interaction, I lied and said not interested just so she could leave. There was man observing who I presume is new. He was great, he had to be embarrassed by her attitude. Great Renovations probably does great work. But Jesse assumed I wasn't interested. So I gave her what she wanted, a no sale. Too bad. read more

The most regrettable experience I've had as a homeowner is working with Great Lakes Window and Siding. The bathroom remodel I hired them for took longer than promised (3-4 weeks, not 3-4 days), and the work performed was shoddy and lacking in professionalism (the grout work was so bad we're already thinking of hiring someone to redo it less than 2 years later; if that's not bad enough, the water wasn't turned off prior to our bathtub's removal, leading to a burst pipe and water damage to an adjacent room's ceiling; Great Lakes' idea of resolving that issue was painting over the water stains -- but the splotches are still visible.) I hope those reading this will pause and decide to stay away. I don't care how good their quote might be, my experience tells me the work won't hold up. read more

This company had very pushy salesman and the quality of their materials is poor, especially the granite. We used them for our kitchen remodel and boy do I regret it! I am going to have to replace our granite because of the poor quality. They gave us bad advice and the guys who worked on our cabinets actually hit on my daughter! Very similar experience as others I'm reading. Thought I'd stop in and check out the show room for my bathroom project and learn more. No one available, so I wait - no problem, I want to look around anyway. Guy comes up and polite enough, however, he knew hardly anything about their products. I could still deal with that, maybe he's new - we all learn somehow. Here's where it got uncomfortable... within minutes, I was quickly rushed into getting me to move on to signing up to measure my bathroom when I'm still at why are we measuring, you can't even tell me about the quality and types of products stage. It was all impatient and rushed... it's a showroom. That's why people go there, to kick the tires, look around and get approximate price range. Filling out some form to give them last chance. I'm at a point where I'm doing a lot of updates to my home. Not a single other company has suspiciously interviewed me regarding "decision makers." Its my darn House - you can look it up, don't ask a question like that and then hesitate and eye me suspiciously when I respond with me! It's unprofessional and rude. There are several other approaches you can take, other than being offensive. I am a successful female who owns my stuff. I've hired several companies as of late, all knew their products, were patient and helpful, and did not ask offensive questions. I read a Great Lakes company response was that they come out and do measurements for free. Ok - so far, ALL the companies I've worked with have done that!!! That's not a good enough, professional, 'change your approach' type of response to show your listening to potential customer feedback. read more

This is a review of Great Lakes Renovations of which we recently had a bathroom renovation done as of Sept, 2019. This was a project completely planned and approved by my wife and had only minimal involvement by myself. Jessie was the primary contractor doing the work, and his work was exceptional. We enjoyed his involvement and his dedication to doing a great job! The job was a 20,000 renovation of a 1960 bathroom approximately 10 by 6 feet in size. The floors and sheet rock were removed and replaced, the shower was built from scratch, and overall the job was great! So here is my complaint and the reason why I would not bring on or recommend Great Lakes Renovation to others. The sales pitch was as expected, and the cost was estimated on the high end for this size bathroom remodel. My wife viewed this as her dream bathroom, and she came up with all the design and paid in cash! The problem we encountered was not with quality of work, but with the project management staff who placed unrealistic timelines to finish the project, did not run an effective team for the job, and did absolutely nothing to find a resolution to a misunderstanding between my wife and the sales person who wrote up the contract. The understanding was that only the ceiling would require painting and all other surfaces would be treated with the job being complete when the contractors signed off. As it came about it was discovered that three walls were to be unfinished and we would need to paint the walls upon completion. The original salesperson had left the company, and no one could confirm my wife interpretation of the contract, but the contract stated unfinished walls, and no one would hear my wife's concerns about having an incomplete 20,000 remodel project! The job has now been signed off on, and Brandon who was the manager of the project never responded to my complaints that his customer service skills failed at offering some type of resolution. They simply demanded full payment and even sent the workers to complete the work on Saturday so they could move off to another project on Monday. I come from a project management background and can honestly say they did not plan adequate time to complete this project on time. They pushed the employees to make up for inadequate planning and p[project preparation, and the customer service aspect of this job left my wife in tears and scores a complete failure! That's it! While workmanship was great, that is only due to Jesse who performed the work! Management on this job fails miserably as well as communication and planning between sales staff and project planning. I will not recommend this company to anyone simply due to those who run the company. read more

1/17/18 UPDATE: Terry the Repair Guy came out and fixed the window at no-charge. Great Lakes Window called and apologized, said they appreciated the comment and took care of the situation which made me feel much better. I'm increasing their review from 1 to 3. I still had to wait too long to get the window repaired but they followed up and did the right thing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I bought a window from Great Lakes Home Renovations 7 years ago. Recently I haven't been able to close the window properly and there's a big gap so I called for service repair. After the "5-7 days it would take to get a call back" I never heard from anyone so I tried contacting them multiple times leaving many messages with both the receptionist and person I was told that was assigned to my case, Derrick. Finally, after many attempts, I reached Derrick in the office. He never apologized for not getting back to me. Mind you, I live in Minnesota and we are currently experiencing sub-below temps and I have a window that won't close and freezing cold air is pouring into my house. Derrick informed me that the window installation is only covered for the first 2 years and it will cost me $75 for them to come out and look at it. He seemed to be put out by my request to have the window fixed and asked if I still wanted them to come out. Really??? I'm the most upset about 3 things; 1. The terrible customer service 2. The poor quality of the window because even though it's been 7 years I shouldn't be having trouble shutting it. 3. My bad, because I thought the window had a lifetime guarantee. I talked with Great Lakes Home Renovations. The salesperson was very friendly and helpful. He came when scheduled and showed various samples. He also helped evaluate what needed to be done with the bathroom so the renovation would be successful. I was told there were different ways to get a discount, such as promoting my project on Facebook. At the end of the consult, I was told I had to sign a paper to accept or not accept their proposal in order to get the discounted price. I felt I was being put on the spot and felt very uncomfortable with being forced to make an instant decision in order to get the lower price. I have other companies that are coming in and am not yet ready to make a decision. The only reason I signed the form (declining the proposal) was to not get the salesperson in trouble. I want to go with a company that doesn't use this type of sales strategy. read more

AWFUL. HORRID CUSTOMER SERVICE. This company contacted me after I entered a drawing at the state fair. I agreed to have a rep come and discuss a basement remodel. The appointment was set up and reconfirmed the day before the actual appointment. My husband and I waited, and waited, and waited. 2 calls later to the company I can't get anyone to return my call for response. What a waste of my time. I recommend you find a different company. We recently had a room in our basement finished with Owens Corning Basement Finishing System, by Great Lakes Window and Siding. We saw the product at the Midwest Home Show, thought it might be a solution for our cold basement. Gary came to our home, measured & quoted a price and explained the project. We decided it was worth the investment. The construction process was quick, and the workers were all pleasant and efficient. We had several "punch list" items to clean up after the major installation was complete, and that took longer than it should have. We have since carpeted the room and finished some window trim, and the room looks great. One of our goals to warm up the space, literally, as our basement is so cold. Even though the walls are now insulated, and heating vents moved to better cover the room, we still have a cold room, but at least it looks good. read more

We just had a basement room remodeled and wow what a difference. It is quiet and looks beautiful. The worker were great. They kept us informed and did nice work. We finished the project ourselves by installing a laminate floor. The window they added really makes the room come alive and creates a livable space. read more

I would not recommend this company. High pressure sales!! Pricing seemed high although the products appeared to be high quality; estimate appointments are 2 hours (!!) - too long, in my opinion. My sales rep was about "closing the deal" and tried to do everything he could to get the job. I felt very uncomfortable. I wish I could get those (2) hours back. read more

I was looking forward to meeting and seeing the product options for my kitchen cabinet resurfacing. When an employee called to confirm our appointment, the company seemed on top of things. When I disclosed my husband was uninterested in attending the in home visit, I was rebuffed. I explained that I make these decisions, he doesn't care a bit. I have purchased windows for the house, a furnace, a huge concrete job, re roofing the house, egress window installaton and much more... The employee explained that it is a 'policy' and 'it works best, for legal reasons." I have money in the bank for the job. I am in charge of family finances. I am perfectly able to sign contracts. And to pay for them. When I contacted them about my disappointment with the policy they suggested that we "might not be a good fit." I couldn't have said it any better. read more

We have not experienced better either. The project of remodeling our bathroom is finally finished,we hope. We started out in Feb 2018. Our sales gal after having mapped out a 60x40 walk-in shower said the largest standard base onyx Corp made was 60x36,so we agreed to it .Finally after 10 weeks and the installers,who were great,got the walls and the base in we questioned the size.We called Onyx ourselves and came to find out they had a standard 60x42 base and had it for quite a while. This size would have been so much better for down the road as we get older and possibly need help. The sales gal's materials were not up to date and it was to late for us to change-very disappointed. Then the glass was being installed and guess what it's to large for the frame. Now we have to reorder- another 4 weeks. It is the end of June , the project is done everything that also needed to be fixed is done we hope and the bathroom is better than it was. Make sure you do your homework. The installers are great and very customer service oriented, Brandon (the son of the owner who is running it) knows nothing about customer service. We did an oversized shower install and they ordered the wrong size insert. Brandon refused to order a new one and said ours would have to be shorter than planned. (not a huge amount, but not what we ordered) He said we could just repaint the wall so it looked ok. He was not nice, customer focused or helpful. I wouldn't recommend this "family owned, local, long standing" company because of the person that is running it. read more

I am a 30 something homeowner looking for an estimate on a small kitchen remodel... the initial phone call was fine but there were a few questions that bothered me...before scheduling a time to come see our home I was asked who I lived with and what his/her name was. I explained that my husband and I live at the residence. ( But i really didn't understand why that mattered) Well, I get a return phone call a few days later to set up an appointment and I was told that they would not come out to my home unless my husband was present, as he needed to be there to help make a decision. They explained that they give out a lot of information and it would be best to have him there for it. (Not that any of this matters, but I purchased this home myself prior to us getting married, I have an MBA, and I work in the construction field...I feel confident I can make a decision on a contractor without my husband being present (and my husband thinks so too)) It was explained to me that this is their company policy. Overall good work. Communication with front office not the greatest. Only one person can answer your service calls. They also charge a trip fee of $50 for warranty service. Was able to get this fee waived because this fee was not stated in the original contract. Above average pricing for the industry in my view. I thought the overall project was very expensive. Installation is high quality. Materials are solid and attractive. Completion of project took longer than expected but I was pretty satisfied with results. I would suggest doing your homework before deciding on this company. Hard to totally justify their very high pricing structure in my view. I would rehire but would definitely consider multiple offers before deciding to do another project with them. read more
