The older ratings for this Aspen Dental location do not reflect the current business. I called a…read moreyear or two ago to schedule an appointment only to learn that they did not have a dentist, hygienist, or staff at the time. So everyone at this location is relatively new. My experience here was fantastic, far superior to another Aspen Dental location I've been to previously. Upon learning that for the past two years I've had trouble scheduling a cleaning at other dental offices, the hygienist Abby offered to give me a cleaning on the spot (even though the appointment was just for an exam). During the cleaning, the hygienist provided very clear communication by narrating what they were going to do, they checked in with me to ensure I wasn't experiencing discomfort, they answered my questions, and gave me information about how to improve my dental hygiene without shame or embarrassment. I am so thankful for Abby! Unlike the dentist at a different Aspen who claimed several months ago that I needed extensive work on my teeth that was going to cost about $9,000, the dentist at this location said I only needed a few procedures totaling less than $400. I left feeling informed, confident, and clean! Many thanks to the folks at this Aspen Dental location!

I have always liked the service here, and the convenience and ability to go in later. But I had to…read morego in to meet a new hygenist? who didn't even have time to see me. Got a check up, told to come back for a cleaning. I couldn't even get an appointment since last summer due to them not having a hygenist. When I made the cleaning appointment, i was told i. had to PAY IN ADVANCE to secure my spot. What on earth is that? I have been going there for years and not missing appointments, always pay full. In fact, they OFTEN call me to cancel appointments, or move the time. I do not like the idea of paying for a service well ahead of time, especially for a place with such a fluctuating staff. I don't want to look elsewhere, but I am thinking about it solely due to this new policy. UPDATE: One day after I wrote this, i was supposed to have my cleaning that i was forced to pre-pay for, and THEY CANCELLED IT! I am beginning to smell a scam....

So, you guys have heard of that phrase "you don't know a good thing until its gone," right? Well I…read moresortof experienced that this week... You see, usually I plan a visit upstate in the early spring - visit family/friends, get my teeth cleaned with my fav dentist, have my hair cut by my fav long-time stylist, visit Wegmans, etc - but b/c of scheduling conflicts I'm not going to be able to make the trip this month. Soooo seeing as how I was at my 6-month mark I made an appointment with a dentist in NYC. After I left the appointment all I could think about was Clay Dental Care, and how much I missed them! I've been going to CDC since I was a kid and in 20-something years I don't have a single complaint. Why are they so awesome? Here are a few reasons: - The Dr's, the hygienists, the assistants - all of them are seriously the nicest people. They've got hundreds of patients and each and every person in the building remembers my name, and always asks how my Hubs and life in NYC is, so nice! - The place is so clean and up-to-date too. This is a team of people who care about where they work and making patients comfortable. TV & magazines in the comfy waiting room, all of the exam rooms are decorated with items showing off each dr/hygienists personality, there's XM radio playing smooth tunes. - The staff is great about explaining everything they're doing and they take their time - whether it's xrays, getting rid of that tarter buildup or shinning everything up. - There's an assortment of toothpaste flavors available for your cleaning. Don't be ashamed to ask for bubble gum! :-) - Not only do I get a toothbrush when I'm done - but toothpaste and floss and sometimes mouth wash. Once I was given a tooth brushing timer, which I still use occasionally! Did you guys know you're supposed to brush for 2 minutes!? It's true. I really really missed CDC this week... my next cleaning should be in about 6 months and I'm going to start planning my trip upstate now. I'd absolutely travel 250+ miles to get my teeth checked here. For those in central NY looking for a dentist - consider giving Clay Dental Care a call. They are seriously the best!
