Comfortable seating, spaced apart, outlets right by the table. Staff is nice and friendly quiet and clean library. There was a bit of distractions I found at this library not sure cause it's located next to an elementary school. But parent coming in with elementary kids and being a little on the loud distracting side. But over all the library was fine and clean.

    Plenty of work tables.

With all the years I have been coming to the Great Northwest branch (on and off), I have never given the thought to reviewing it. Well, here is my opportunity. It has changed over time, with renovations being done, as has been done to just about all branch libraries. There are now a couple of multi-person meeting rooms available on a first come first serve basis. A while back they put In why I think is one of the greatest innovations to the library system, and that is self-checkout. Much different than the old days of waiting in a line with a bunch of other people. Is practically step up, scan, and you're in your way. There is still plenty of comfortable seating and a good number of tables to work at. The book collection itself is good with a good division between fiction and non-fiction. Their blu-ray and DVD collections are fairly large. The children's book area is very sizable, really taking up a wing of the library. Wish it had been that big when my kids were small. With plenty of room and plenty of resources, this branch is my go-to for anything I might want to find in a library

This place has a lot of resources for any age, print and internet - multiple other media options, multiple summer activities for many age groups. Of course it is funded by tax money (so it's not "technically free") but you pay nothing to visit and use anything they have. The checkout limit is 50 items total (with specific limits on certain things like DVDs.

However, my first 2 times were unsuccessful because they were closed and I had other places to be so we didn't stay. The 2nd time we came for a play day with my daughter but she fell asleep and I didn't want to wake her so I waited for her to wake up and just browsed around and played on the swings for a bit. This time we actually made it on time for play time. Very packed house today but it was a fun experience for my daughter. Especially since she's an only child. I highly recommend! It's FREE!! FYI we were informed today that the library will be closing Jan 26th until May sometime I'm glad we experienced the old version of this beautiful library! Excited to see the remodeled/ renovated version once it's done!

The library itself is pretty small, and for a library, it may feel a little lacking. There's just not a ton of space to get lost in books. For parents with young kids, Landa Library is a great place to go!

The subject matter may be considered sensitive by some; however, understanding history in its entirety is essential to informed dialogue and meaningful progress. Dr. Isaac Amon delivered an exceptional presentation, providing compelling analysis, historical context, and valuable insights. The Central Library staff should be commended for organizing and hosting such a well-executed and impactful event. The lecture introduced historical facts, statistics, and perspectives that were not part of my academic experience, either in school or college. It was an enlightening and thought-provoking experience that reinforced the importance of continuous learning and a deeper understanding of our shared history.

This amazing library is located in the heart of downtown and was built by renowned Mexican architect, Ricardo Legorreta. The building is absolutely stunning and has actually been featured in Hollywood movies. If you love art as much as I do you'll be happy to hear that they have a Chihuly inside the library, as well as other pieces of art by very popular artists. The San Antonio Central Library is so much more than a local library. Within the building, you can find other nonprofits that help support small businesses in our community, as well as numerous events they host almost daily. One of my favorite parts about the SA Central Library is their second-hand bookstore located in the basement. You can find some true gems in there, and all the money raised from sales goes back to the library. If you have children I highly recommend exploring their kids' section. My kid loves to play in that area and the staff there is always amazing! Last but not least, the library has its own parking lot and you can get up to three hours of free parking when visiting. You just have to validate your ticket at one of the kiosks located by the entrance.
