Lots of cozy nooks and crannies -- the kind of place you just want to tuck away in with a good book. I spent about an hour studying here and could've easily stayed longer. It's beautiful inside, warm and inviting, and feels like the perfect spot to slow down for a bit.

Landa Library in San Antonio is certainly one of the nicest libraries I have ever been to aesthetic wise. It was once a private residence decades ago that was turned into a public library and you certainly feel at home coming here if you need to do some studying or just reading books. It's located in a nice area, nearby lots of activities you could do like going to the Zoo or Witte Museum. The yard outside the property with a playground which is also nice and a good place to take kids as well. It's not the biggest library, but it's a beautiful place. If you're not a local here then there isn't a ton of reasons to come here, but it's still a cool place to check out during a quick trip if you're a bookworm.

One of the most unique libraries I've ever been to. It's one of the most perfect places to take your kids anytime of the day. Even if you need to get work done, the library has plenty of things to keep them occupied. I found so much peace coming here and my kids actually ask me every week to bring them here. My new favorite library in San Antonio!

This library is so beautiful! I have been visiting since studying in college, and I continue to enjoy working and taking meetings from here. The inside is breathtaking, as is the architecture. There a plenty of places to sit at desks, as well as books to read! The library can get extrenely busy though, so it may not be the most quiet at times. There outdoor spaces are very green and nice- perfect for studying or working outside. There is also plenty of free parking!

We love the Landa Branch! It's a converted mansion with a huge yard. They have story time and activities like Lego building weekly.

Landa is a perfect library for us. They have a 2-5 year old section which is CLUTCH and not offered a lot. Their study area upstairs is always quiet, comfortably at the right temperature and has a lovely view of the park downstairs. The building itself is historical and beautiful. There are a lot of local business and coffee shops around the coffee in that area. I love Landa, it's in my top 3 of libraries in SATX. I'm going to actually visit all locations before we move from San Antonio.

I stumbled upon this library when looking for a place to study. What a wonderful tranquil study environment. On a level of 0 ( can hear a pin drop) to 10 (rock concert) this location is a 3 from open to about 3pm. After that it looks like there are more children so it gets noisier. When I first arrived, I explored the library to find the right spot and I found a nice empty room. They do have separate conference room as well as designated quiet areas. I will absolutely be back! Pay attentions to hours as they do changes based on the day of the week.

    Set up for board meeting.

I've been a member of the Landa Friends for a few years. My sister has been with them much longer than me. We have book sales a couple of times a year. I have to remember to create the event in Yelp. Ha, ha. There is a book cart in the lobby. Paperbacks, larger paperbacks and some hard cover books are there for $0.50 and $1.00. Just put your money in the locked cash box. On your honor. Really good deals. Some of the books are barely used. Maybe read the one time and then donated. The library itself is a converted home. So beautiful with many rooms, nooks and crannies. The grounds are immaculate and are the site of many a wedding photo. Just this past Saturday a group of photographers were there to take pictures. There is a playground. A really nice library well worth the trip if you do not live in the neighborhood. Go there.

Went for a photo shoot for a Senior! It was hotter than buckets, but the staff and all the patrons were very respectful! It is such a gorgeous San Antonio treasure. Make certain to pay a visit to this local library of you are near the Pearl, the Zoo ñ, etc with your children and want a tranquil playground plus Library!!

Very cute library to visit. Not a lot of space to study and it can fill up quick. In the future I'll go to another public library to study.

The subject matter may be considered sensitive by some; however, understanding history in its entirety is essential to informed dialogue and meaningful progress. Dr. Isaac Amon delivered an exceptional presentation, providing compelling analysis, historical context, and valuable insights. The Central Library staff should be commended for organizing and hosting such a well-executed and impactful event. The lecture introduced historical facts, statistics, and perspectives that were not part of my academic experience, either in school or college. It was an enlightening and thought-provoking experience that reinforced the importance of continuous learning and a deeper understanding of our shared history.

This amazing library is located in the heart of downtown and was built by renowned Mexican architect, Ricardo Legorreta. The building is absolutely stunning and has actually been featured in Hollywood movies. If you love art as much as I do you'll be happy to hear that they have a Chihuly inside the library, as well as other pieces of art by very popular artists. The San Antonio Central Library is so much more than a local library. Within the building, you can find other nonprofits that help support small businesses in our community, as well as numerous events they host almost daily. One of my favorite parts about the SA Central Library is their second-hand bookstore located in the basement. You can find some true gems in there, and all the money raised from sales goes back to the library. If you have children I highly recommend exploring their kids' section. My kid loves to play in that area and the staff there is always amazing! Last but not least, the library has its own parking lot and you can get up to three hours of free parking when visiting. You just have to validate your ticket at one of the kiosks located by the entrance.

(A Love Letter to Cody Branch Library)…read more My favorite neighborhood Library! Bright, calm, and welcoming, it's the kind of place where you'll see a mix of people studying, kids discovering new books, and neighbors popping in to pick up their holds. It feels like a true community space. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and everything runs so smoothly. Libraries are truly one of the best public resources we have, and Cody Branch does it especially well. One of my favorite things is using the mySAPL app to request books, and then getting the notification that they're ready for pickup. When I walk in and see my little stack waiting for me on the hold shelf, it feels like the best kind of VIP treatment. No searching, no stress! Just grab your books and go. If you haven't used the hold system through the app yet, give it a try--total game changer. Thank you Cody Branch and team!

Even better are the seating areas, parking areas, and bathrooms, which are all generous in size and well kept.
