I'm waaaay overdue to post a review of Igo, one of the best neighborhood libraries I've ever been to. I'm a regular patron and this is my go-to spot for voting and other civic duties. Selection is decent in books, magazines, and DVDs. Even better are the seating areas, parking areas, and bathrooms, which are all generous in size and well kept. They just installed solar paneling in the car park area which means there will be covered parking as well. On top of that, they're next to the Bonnie Conner park, perfect for a stroll after some reading time. Finally as of December 2024 you can also get a free upgrade of your boring old library card to one of their new, cooler looking ones! read more

Pretty decent sized library. Check out their website for events going in. Sad they have not brought back story time for toddlers. One side of the library is all kids books and adults on the other side. This place stays busy most of the day. You can search online and have a book from one of the other San Antonio libraries sent there for pick up. Your library card is good for any of the San Antonio libraries. Outside there are a few reading areas and on the other side of the trees in the parking lot there's a park. read more

Everyone really needs to check out their local libraries. We went for baby time and now family time reading and my daughter enjoys these interactive readings. Also we saw they had a display for books for sell! I got a book for $2!! read more

this might be my new favorite library. walking in, it seems small and a little bit stuffy. you can tell they try to make use of as much as they can here, which i appreciate. what won me over, the silent study space. I am a mom of two, going back to college and silence is so hard to come by, even on campus. another plus, it's next to a cute park where my kids can play with their dad while mom does homework. read more

I've never been inside, but they are implementing CDC guidelines successfully. Use the app or call the library to reserve a book. Call when you arrive and wait until they place your book on a table in a bag with your name in it. When you're returning an item simply drop it off in the bin. The APP is currently down right now as they are switching over to a new server, but you can still complete transactions on their website or via the phone. Very helpful staff who are very willing to assist you with your inquiries. read more

Love going to this library, very clean and helpful staff. We were watching MIssion Impossible last week and we finished MI 1 to 4, when I searched for 5 and 6, you have to pay to watch, and then we remember we can get it free at the library so we went ahead and reserved it here at Igo. This location have a lot of seating area, clean bathrooms, it is a well maintained facility. Also the library is close to the Bonnie Conner park, where you can take a stroll after reading some books at the library. read more

Very nice scenery outside, and the staff is friendly. Definitely going back again! My 6 year old loves the children's section!

Closest library to me. Though it is very close to 1604, there's not too much traffic to get in and noise is not an issue with all the trees surrounding it. Scenic area. Good windows so it doesn't feel stuffy. They have a quiet room for studying. Not too much seating, but it works with how many people are normally in there. Usually quiet. Lots of computers. Nice and helpful staff. If you need a breath of fresh air, there's a park a few feet away. I love that they have later hours on Mondays and Tuesdays, it works for a busier school schedule. This library that opened in the last year or two is a great addition to the Nortwest part of San Antonio. I love this library! It's right next to a cute little public park and a lot of new residential areas making it very quiet, clean, and family-oriented. Right next to the restrooms is a big plastic bin for their magazine exchange. You can drop off your old magazines and pick up others dropped off. :) They have tons of activities all the time, I always vote at this location, and the staff is so nice and helpful. I personally think its a good size, especially the children's section. There are computers you can use for free, lots of dvds and cds to choose for as well as a good selection of magazines. I enjoy my time here a lot, hope you do too! I've been to several of the libraries in San Antonio and this is definitely one of my favorites. Right off the 1604 but you wouldn't know it. Its surrounded by trees, scenic, and quiet. The kids area is surrounded by windows, they have kids tables and chairs, reading aloud to your kids is encouraged! Its quiet but with a tolerance for conversations and reading aloud which I really like. They seem to have a rather large kids section. Checking out was super easy and fast. Its clean and a lot of natural lighting. There are benches outside you can sit and read. Overall a pleasant and quiet experience! read more

Cute library right next to a park with a playground. Nice kids section but needs more baby and toddler books. Playground is most appropriate for older kids (not toddlers). Will definitely visit both again! read more

Nice library. I take my 2-year-old to their toddler time on Tuesdays at 10:15 am. They also have a second-time slot at 11:15 am. I will advise you to arrive early. You now have to get an entry pass at the counter and once they run out of space you can't get in. The staff is fantastic with the kids. read more

My first trip to the Igo Library was yesterday (Saturday) for their Library Book Sale. The Igo Library is very clean, well organized and has plenty of parking. I arrived a few minutes before 10am and there was already quite a line (about 20 people) lined up outside. The book sale had a wide assortment of books for sale and included donations as well as old library books. The price ranges from $0.25 to $1.00, which is much cheaper than Half Price books. I'm collecting books for my classroom library so I headed for the children's section first. I was able to get 24 like-new books for $19.50! The staff members were very helpful and even boxed up my items for me. The nice thing about Igo is that they also take debit/credit cards in addition to cash! If you are planning on coming to the book sale my tips are to come early and bring a shopping bag with you to hold your items while you are browsing. read more

Friendly staff and organized library. They have couches you can sit and relax at to browse through books. They also have outside tables and some rocking chairs to enjoy the cool weather when permitted. I would rather go to a library or bookstore than to shop so I'm a fan! read more

Closest library for us. Very clean and well maintained. Not a large selection compared to other SA libraries. However, I usually request books on the online catalog and they are transferred here within a few days, ready for pick up. read more

I like this library a lot, but I'm only gonna give them 4 stars because they recently cut down a bunch of trees in the front. It was so great before, having that little bit of natural forest there. It's horrible now, you can see right thru it. The magic is gone! read more
