When he finally did call, he offered no apology - or even acknowledgment - for his tardiness. During our 11-min call, Sean displayed no curiosity about my stepson or our family. He never asked about my husband (the father), the biological mother, nor much about my son himself. Instead, he fixated on "screen addiction," using it both as a reason my son couldn't be helped (odd, since it's a service he advertises) and as an excuse to promote his book on the subject. While our conversation was brief, Sean still managed to plug his book, his podcast, and his social media. Overall, Sean seems to be more interested in building his "brand" than in actually helping teenagers. Tellingly, Sean was dismissive of traditional therapy - presumably because he has no relevant credentials. He also seemed incensed that I was evaluating therapists / coaches for my son to ensure the right fit. All this taken together with a previous one-star review (and his respective rebuttal), I feel more even more certain about the importance of this step. I expect a similar dismissive rebuttal: that "it wasn't the right match" or "the parents weren't invested." Reframing any negative feedback into a parenting failure, and deflecting from the lack of professionalism and expertise that this line of work demands.

I was ultimately directed to contact Headway on my own, leaving me to navigate the issue without any meaningful assistance from the organization. I was equally disappointed with the quality of the counseling services provided. My sessions with Isabel often lacked structure, guidance, and actionable feedback. Rather than facilitating productive communication, identifying areas for improvement, or helping develop effective co-parenting strategies, many sessions consisted primarily of passive observation. As a result, I found myself questioning the value being provided relative to the substantial fees being charged. For a service that is frequently court-ordered and intended to support families during challenging circumstances, I expected greater transparency, accountability, professionalism, and therapeutic value. Instead, I was left frustrated by the billing practices, lack of follow-through, and overall quality of the services received. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this organization.

When my husband and I were preparing for our first baby to be born, I knew I wanted to hire a doula…read morebecause I wanted to give birth naturally with no epidural or any other pain medications. We did our research and chose three doula services that we were interested in. After having multiple phone and in person meetings with all three, I knew Deanna was the right one for me. Meeting Deanna for the first time is like meeting a friend you haven't seen in a long time. She definitely gives you a sense of comfort. She's also very knowledgable and answered all of my husband's and I's questions we had about my pregnancy and prepared us for what to expect during labor and delivery. When that day finally came (about 2.5 weeks earlier than expected) Deanna and my husband were on it. Both of them worked so hard to make me feel comfortable. Deanna definitely helped my husband be more hands on during my labor which took over 24 hours. As much as I wanted to give birth vaginally, I eventually had to get a c-section after pushing for 6 hours and trying all the possible birthing positions Deanna recommended. I was also prepared going in to the operating room as Deanna also educated us about what would happen if I was to get a c-section. Deanna was by my side the whole time up until I had the c-section. When the nurses where not available Deanna was moving the bed to get me to a comfortable position and also helping me get to the bathroom. So if you're looking for a knowledgable doula with lots of experience and is hands on, I would definitely recommend Deanna.
