I went in for an exam to determine the treatment plan for my work. I was quoted almost $3000.00 after insurance for the work that needed to be completed. I paid all of that up front and was told by the woman handing me the bill that I would actually most likely be refunded a substantial portion of the bill because they over charged me on purpose in case more work was discovered that needed treatment later. I had little expectation that I would actually get money back but I was happy that it was a possibility and even more happy that I felt as though I didn't need to worry about payments. I had been saving up money for this for over a year. I was scheduled for two sessions to complete all the work,. After the first session. A few of my cavities were overfilled and caused pain and discomfort. I explained this during my second session and asked for it to be taken care of, the dentist likely forgot but there were still multiple teeth after the second session that still were in pain and overfilled. A crown that was made was also massively oversized, the other crown had to be delayed because it was so oversized that it couldn't be placed. I came back for another visit to get that crown placed later and to have more of the previous work already done be fixed again. I had to call off work and lose money in order to do this because I thought everything would be done in two visits as I discussed with the dentist. At the end of it all, everything was taken care of, the dentist did not charge me for the work that had to be fixed. I'm not upset about those issues. Nothing ever goes perfectly and that's okay. The problem is that months later into the new year I was sent a bill for over $800 dollars that I owed. When I attempted to explain I was told that I should have paid more for my services than what they billed me and said that I was getting "free" treatment, the reality is that I was coming back to the dentist to fix the errors from the first two visits. That's not a discount, that's hours of my life that I lost and money lost from not being able to be at work to take care of what was supposed to be done the first time. As of writing this, I've been in contact with Elite Dental trying to dispute the bill and understand where the charges are coming from because the only billing information that I'm being given is missing a lot of important information. CDT codes are not present, there are multiple charges that have no explanation, insurance write offs, adjustments, it doesn't explain what charges are not covered, or what charges amount to the remaining balance. I've been sending emails promptly and then do not hear back anything for days at a time. Communication is extremely one sided and when I finally get someone they basically disregard what I am saying and just tell me that I need to pay the entire bill. Finally, what lead me to writing this review, I was still awaiting a reply on the same questions I've been asking for weeks now. They sent me an email saying that my account had been sent to a new "department" and gave me a number with no other information. I called the number and found that they had referred my bill to a collections agency while I'm in still in the process of working through the bill. All of this has been incredibly difficult, they are not communicating effectively and refuse to find common ground or understanding with my perspective on the problem. I paid a very large sum of money upfront with the express understanding that this was the FINAL bill from Elite Dental and was told that I would most likely be refunded a portion of it, only to find out 3-5 months after service that they want me to suddenly pay over $800 out of the blue and they refuse to explain exactly why I owe this and for what specific treatments. Making it impossible for me to communicate with my insurance to ensure that I am getting the proper coverage from them.

I went to get my back tooth extracted (#30) was given pain medication with nothing for infection. After the extraction, the place where my tooth was extracted pained me terribly. Called twice that week was told they'll reach out to the doctor to see if I should come in or be prescribe infection medication. Here it is almost 2 weeks later and no one has reached out to me with a solution. This is the worst dentist office I have ever experience in my whole entire life, so save your money and go somewhere else where you are valued and cared for.

My dentist Andy although from Mississippi is both a New England Patriots fan and a HUGE Red Sox fan who attends games at Fenway!! Now if that wasn't enough to make him awesome he's actually a big fan of Veterans and he's really excellent at being a dentist but even more than that he's a considerate person who explains everything in layman terms with analogies and actually listens to his parents. I say that makes him one of the truly good ones, and my wife has been his patient for some time now and she's a big fan and her dental health has never been better. I got some extensive exams and workups done but unfortunately, it was not completed before moving. Here's the coolest thing, my new cool dentist is the bomb and believe it or not he is also a HUGE new England Patriots fan, what are the odds? :-) Bottom line: This is a pleasant and efficient dental office with a nice and professional staff. Dr Hennessy recommended an outrageous, excessively expensive and unreasonable solution for my dental problems. Two additional unusual things: 1. Dr Hennessy suggested I send a text to his personal phone number ending in "9367" 2. The dentist, Dr Hennessy did all the individual x-rays himself. He had to retake several because he said they were too blurry. My visit lasted approximately 2 hours and I received no treatment. Dealing with Dr Hennessy was a waste of time and money.

Yes, I had to endure several hours of torture since they said I have gum disease from too much tarter. And I could only handle having half my teeth cleaned. Then I suffered the ordeal of having two teeth ground down for two temporary crowns. I don't know if I'm ready to go back to get the other half of the work done. Of course I'm joking about the torture, but anyone who's ever gone to the dentist knows what I'm talking about. Actually, they did everything they could to make me comfortable. It wasn't as bad as enhanced interrogation luckily and I didn't have to tell them where I hide my money. Lol. They were all wearing masks. I wanted a mask too but they wouldn't give me one. The most painful part of the whole ordeal was paying for services at the end. Again, another joke, because I'm a cheap skate and I hate spending money. Their prices seem to be in line with the market and fall in the range of what Google says they cost. Also, after looking at my mouth, they had written quotes presented to me explaining the services and charges. This way I knew exactly what I'd be spending ahead of time. The really nice thing about this place is that it's state of the art and it's very clean. The staff is very friendly and professional. They know it's not easy to sit in that chair and hold your mouth open, so they do what they can to accommodate. Plus I hear that they're opening a new office in Collierville! They have these tvs right in front of you in the chairs. I thought it was nice to draw my attention away from being scared to death, but then it plays their own dental commercials. And then the dentist comes up and I'm like, hey you're the famous guy from the tv commercials! Another thing they used the tv for was to take pictures in my mouth and show them to me on the screen. That was really scary! They have videos explaining each procedure and since I was nervous about the crowns and asking what it's like, they used the tv to show a video of it. Another thing I appreciated was that they talk to me throughout the procedure and tell me what they're doing. Also they called me the next morning to make sure I'm ok. I guess Dental Cares cares! Not a good day for me, and I'm dreading going back to complete the work, but it's the final result that matters and I cannot think of any ways they could improve. Dental Cares will be my place from now on and Dr. Smith will be my doctor.
