Love Sara! I have been following her for the last several years. When she moved into Greater Than Sparrows, I was super excited as the location was also convenient (and not far away from where she was last). Every time you enter, you are greeted by smiles from the Front Desk. Everyone is very kind and has a warm personality, the atmosphere is nice and the interior is beautifully decorated. The only services I have done is cut and color, such as a balayage. This salon and medspa seems to be the one-stop shop for all sorts of needs from hair, tanning, makeup, manicures/pedicures, etc. The massage chairs while you get your hair washed is top notch. Sara is phenomenal. She takes the time to make sure that you are comfortable, listens carefully to what you want, super accommodating and just always does a great job. Even the advice that she gives, she doesn't overstep and try to take anything over without your approval. The entire experience is a breeze with her. I look forward to booking with her again when she gets back from her maternity leave and I would definitely not mind exploring other services. read more

The salon owner got back to me and refunded me my money. She offered extensions but I fear my hair is too brittle and the extensions will further damage my hair. I also am not comfortable going back to the salon at this point. I am relieved I got my money back but the damage will take years to repair. I wear wigs daily to look professional for work. I'm not sure how I'll manage on vacation at the beach or for photos but given the circumstances I'll have to make do. Hopefully the salon learned to be more cautious and perhaps do a strand test on hair they aren't sure of while also not leaving the bleach on too long. read more

I scheduled a $200 keratin treatment. I had been going to the salon for haircuts and colors almost a year already. As soon as I sat down, they tried to get me to switch my keratin treatment to something called "hair botox". I asked what that was and she (the stylist) could NOT explain what it was. She had to walk away and ask the person at the front desk but when she came back she STILL couldn't explain it. I still don't understand why a hair treatment would be called "hair botox" because Botox is an injectable that works by paralyzing muscles, so the name makes zero sense to a client looking for less frizz and sleek, smooth, lasting blow outs. The service they wanted to give me cost more, but having no idea what it actually was, I stuck with the keratin. Over the next 2 hours, my hair (a chin-length bob) was destroyed. The chemical was applied, and sat on my head while my hair was dried and flat ironed... well, my hair MELTED. Literally melted! The stylist started bad mouthing the stylist who had colored my hair previously and blaming her for the horrible, shocking results unfolding. Mind you, I had been going to this salon for MONTHS and they had a complete record of every cut and color I'd had. She had to start cutting, not even a normal haircut, but big, uneven CHUNKS were being cut. The salon owner showed up and just like that my stylist walked away and abandoned me. The owner looked at me, but she was 100% speechless. She started saying "if there's anything we can do..." but there wasn't. My hair was DESTROYED. Melted, chunks cut out all over... never in my wildest nightmares has anything close to this bad been done to my hair. I tried to fight back the tears as every eye in the salon stared at me, mouths literally gaping in shock and horror. It looked moth-eaten... no, I looked like a cancer patient (for real). The worst part is that I was charged the full $200!!!!! It will be over a year before I have 6" of length back. It's been half a year and my UNWANTED pixie has finally grown out 3", still shorter than every MAN in my office. I have not and will not ever go back but I will NEVER get over this experience. This is my new go to place for great skin. I have had the hydra facial and IPL. Both produced fantastic results. Brandy is very sweet and knows what she is doing. Don't be scared by the online prices. Give them a call as they are always running specials. They also have a traveling Xeomin specialist who offers excellent pricing. One problem I have not experienced, (and hope not to) but my daughter has, is their equipment tends to break down, or not function properly occasionally. read more

Business as a whole has a nice vibe. The ladies there are far as hair stylists seem really great. They're all very friendly and talented. I've seen some beautiful hair styles on the clients there. However, I purchased the Groupon for the laser lipo treatments, & thankfully with Groupon I only wasted $300 instead of $1800 because it was the biggest waste of time I've ever invested in. GTS has really good reviews for everything but the laser Lipo treatments so I should have known not to waste my time but I invested a lot of extra time into the whole process to lose 1/2 inch and the lady "treated" the area four of the six sessions I purchased before saying I should look to another area. Spent one more treatment on a new area to see zero results there either. Canceled my last treatment because I didn't want to drive forty minutes to be the same as when I walked in. Basically spent $300 for dietary and exercise advice. Go here for nice hair styles not laser lipo treatments! read more

I saw Kayla for my first ever chemical peel. I mistakenly put the wrong time down in my phone and arrived close to 20 minutes late. She was still able to see me and i was thrilled! She asked me a few questions about my skincare routine and then explained the treatment process. Each step of the process was restated before she applied it; this cut some of the nervousness. Makenzie Freeman is the absolute best stylist. Years ago, I ended up with a MULLET from His or Hers Salon and my hair was just RUINED. Makenzie to the rescue! She was able to perform magic on my mullet so that it was no longer a mullet. Over the years she has done an incredible job with my blonde and her cuts are THE BEST. The treatment I received at this salon was A+++. Sammie has a warm personality and is a true artist with hair. I told her that my super long hair tangles easy and to be super careful and she did just that. It was probably the first time that I didn't leave half my hair on a hairbrush from detangling at a salon. My cut was just what I wanted without loosing much length. She also styled it beautifully at the end, which is above and beyond what any other salons do. I don't go in to a salon very often, because my hair is very healthy and I keep it long, so a cut is only needed about once every 2 years. But when I go back, I will be sure to entrust my hair to Sammie. read more

I happened upon this salon on line by accident, and after reading reviews decided to book MacKenzie for a haircut. I am so glad I did! From what I could see it seemed the other stylists there also do good work. My appointment was at 10 a.m., which is their opening time. I arrived a few minutes early but the receptionist was already there and ready for customers. MacKenzie is sweet and friendly, listens carefully, then does what you ask. I am so glad I found her! I left the salon feeling great and love my new haircut. I will be going back for highlights soon. The prices here are reasonable, and the cut, wash, and style was included in the price. Most unprofessional experience! Booked 2 blowouts for graduation way ahead of time. Told them it was for graduation and time schedules. They said it wasn't problem. My daughter is super nervous about going to salons on day of big occasions and did her own hair for prom. I finally convince her that this will be less stressful and fun, it's a nice salon and they know it's for graduation and the time issue etc. One stylist was late so she took the one that was there and I turns out that he is on"desk duty" on Monday mornings so he kept stopping her hair and going to the front desk to make appointments (other stylists were there and booked walk-ins that morning). Are you kidding me????) I am paying for this guy to do my daughter's hair and he spent the first half answering the phone . I spoke to him twice, finally made a fuss with the owner and someone else finished her hair. so now - thank you salon - she is more stressed than she was when she walked in. Absolutely ridiculous that you are charging full price to your client and then ignoring them to answer the phone. Horrible experience. Was going to get a chemical peel and some other stuff done there but not now. Horrible experience on a very important day. Lost clients for sure! read more

I normally love this salon, I used to see Mackenzie but had to pick someone new this time. I scheduled online for balayage and went in with pictures showing the stylist exactly what I wanted. She discouraged me from getting balayage telling me to get a full highlight instead because it would grow out and look like balayage- I thought this was super inappropriate, but assumed she wasn't confident in that style of coloring and that's why she tried to sway me. I drove 45 minutes, worked around my work schedule and found childcare for this appointment so I wanted to go through with coloring my hair for the first time in 10 years. Basically the stylist did a full highlight, applied a toner, 3.5 hours and $300 later I left with the same hair color I walked in with- maybe the highlights were in new places.. but the same color. I emailed the owner to see if she'd offer to make things right and no response. Definitely wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone looking for anything beyond a simple haircut because I was actually pleased with the skill level there. read more

I booked a blow out appointment for my engagement pictures. It's clearly advertised on their website this is a service they offer. I chose a picture from their website...she blew my hair straight and then curled it with a curling iron. I could have done this myself at home...which is why I booked a blowout. I just got my pictures back and my hair looks greasy (she put at least 4 different products in my hair) and my part isn't even straight. Disappointed. read more

LOVE this salon! When I moved from San Diego I had a heck of a time finding someone who I trusted enough to do my extensions (I have very fine, thin hair that breaks easily). Sammi did a PHENOMENAL job. Are they pricey? Yes. But you get what you pay for when it comes to extensions and Sammi makes them look natural and takes great care not to damage any hair.
