Green City Window and Door made an amazing transformation to my home! The owner John came out himself to find out what I wanted for my new windows. During his inspection he discovered there was so much dryrot in the wood above garage he could push his finger through it - I had no idea until he showed me the photo and we looked at the wood and none of the other window companies I got estimates from even caught that! Once the window and siding project started I was impressed with the quality and efficiency of their work - and they were all friendly and respectful of helping keep my cats and dog in the house! At one point the sider's discovered the Step flashing on the roof above my two back porches was not tall enough to prevent water from leaking under the new siding. Instead of just continuing the work to get the job done and move onto the next house, they called John who explained the problem to me in "Homeowner" language. I was able to get my roofer out to fix the Step Flashing at no extra charge and Green City finished installing the siding, gutters, downspouts, fascia, and soffits. It is this kind of care, attention to detail and respect for the homeowner's house, property and pets that truly place John Jacques and his team at Green City Window and Door at the top of my list of companies I can recommend. Green City Window and Door installed new windows and a new door on our house in December...from start to finish, everyone was very professional, work was done on time and our house looks amazing...the promise of our house being warmer has been kept...it has been toasty warm this winter and I'm looking forward to the house being cooler this summer because of our great windows. Our new door offers a warm welcome to our guests and we have received so many compliments from our neighbors on how beautiful the windows and door are. All in all, I am very satisfied with the work done and will use Green City Window and Door again for our other remodeling projects. I would also like to add that a friend of mine let me know that he had a roofing team that stopped by his house yesterday and told him that they thought he might need a new roof...they told him his roof was in bad repair, had several "soft spots" and he really needed to replace the roof very soon...the bid they gave him to tear off the existing roof and replace was $18,000...my friend signed a contract thinking that his roof was about to cave in. I called Green City, spoke with John and explained the situation to him and asked if there was anyway he could take a look at the roof to see, if in fact, it needed to be replaced right away and was it a fair price. John had someone out there this morning and discovered that there were no soft spots and the roof was in good condition...my friend wants to get a new roof as he is thinking of selling his house so John gave him a bid that was significantly less than $18,000...my friend was delighted with the quick response from John, has cancelled the bid for $18,000 and is scheduling a time for John to come out to give him a new roof. I had two of my eight windows replaced by two different people; one Lowe's, they did OK, and the other by my neighbors friend Brett; it took Brett 8 months just to install one (1) window, and he did a terrible job. I went searching for someone else. That is when I found Green City Window & Door. Their Salesman called me that night, we set up a meeting the next day. Ordered my six new windows. The salesman told me just how long it would take and what it would cost. He showed me the Quality of the windows, which I really liked, plus the windows were from a local manufacture re and not from someone out of State. I like working with smaller companies, they are more personable. Once my windows were in they called me and scheduled for a weekend installation because I worked during the day and didn't have any free time off. The contractors called and told me when they would be there. Once there, they were all respectful of my place; they even put up with my loud Blue and Gold Macaw parrot, Joey. Once they put installed two of the windows I was so excited I left and went out to buy them lunch to feed them. I really like my new windows. They are so nice compared to my old "single pane" windows. My wallet will love it even better. For what it's worth I never write reviews. I don't make the time, and more often than not the review isn't justified one way or another. However, an exception can be made for Green City Window and Door. My wife and I own two homes, one being a rental. In 2010 we have Green City Window and Door replace all the windows on the rental property. We were very happy with the work, and to this day the quality of the windows. They are a mid-level Alside option, and are still functioning great. We recently had them update all windows on our primary residence with the Alside Excalibur. They are a little more exensive, but worth the money to us for our home. We actually changed the style and size of a few windows. They were very helpful and patient through that process. Further, there were a few issues during installation, all of which were proactively resolved. We are very happy with the results and outcome of the installation. Many of our neighbors took note too. Long story short we've used them for two jobs, and been very happy with both. I would definitely use Green City Window and Door again, and recommend them to friends and family. Green City is amazing! I moved into a home that had original windows from when the building was built in the 70s. During the home inspection in my buying process, the upstairs window was identified as having lost its seal. I'm a first time home owner with no experience and Green City was so easy to work with to help me pick the appropriate windows for my space and taste. For instance, John went above and beyond recommending window sills for my upstairs windows when I mentioned my cats like to sit in the window! I love how my windows look now, and even the first night after installation I could already tell what a difference in sound proofing and heat conservation they make! The beautiful trim and painting they arranged to finish up the windows after installation is so perfect and fits exactly with the other styles in my home. I was also super impressed with all the communication and updates from Marcus after I ordered my windows and was waiting for materials. There was some delay (at no fault of Green City) in material delivery, and I think Marcus sounded much more frustrated with it than I was! I have an old craftsman home that had outdated windows and rotten doors. I called several places to compare prices, and not only was Green City the best deal, the person who gave us the quote was very nice and not pushy. We had to delay the start of the project because of funding and he was very understanding. When the timing was right he ordered the windows and got the ball rolling fast! During the quote process he also really helped us find the look we wanted, so that we could keep the charm of the old house while getting more insulated and protected. When the windows arrived, the three workers promptly got to work at the arranged times. I had plenty of warning in order to get the kids out of the house, and they worked quickly and professionally. They cleaned up well after themselves each day, and made sure I was satisfied with their work. The finished project was all we could want. We don't feel drafts or extreme changes in temperature from day to night, and all the windows still have the craftsman grid look. I would highly recommend them for any window/door project. read more

John and his crew were willing to do a fairly small job replacing the windows and siding on one side of our garage and one side of our house. It's the second time we've hired them, which already says a lot about our faith in their work. As former professional builders ourselves, we are pretty particular about what we want when we hire contractors. More often than not, we end up disappointed. We have a small house that was built in 1948 - not particularly special in any way and loaded with imperfections. I wanted them to work a little magic on those imperfections and they stuck with it until I was happy. I really appreciate all the effort that they put into making me happy. It's not something you always get when you hire contractors. I can honestly say that they did a pretty good job to begin with. But what really earned them these five stars was how they went out of their way to make adjustments to details that we didn't think were quite perfect and leave us as satisfied customers. I was a little scared with the thought of hiring a contractor to replace my windows in my 1924 old home in Seattle. I thought the contractor would give an estimate then jack the price up with "unforseen costs". Green City was very exact and professional all the way. I replaced all the windows in my home for the agreed upon estimate and I am very happy with Green City Windows. They use a local window/glass manufacturer out of Seattle with very high grade quality windows. I went with the "excalibur" windows--a little more in price but a very high quality window. Green City Window and Door is an amazing customer focused company. I have a large bay window with 25 individual windows each about 17 inches by 21 inches in wood frames. I needed three of them replaced. I had three companies give me bids and Green City was very competitive. What really sold me on them was how professional yet personal John and the rest of the people there are. The work they did was incredible and when they were finished I could not tell they had taken the frames apart and put them back together in fact I didn't even have to do any painting. Green City Window and Door is absolutely the BEST contractor I have ever worked with! I had the opportunity to work with them twice. First I had three windows replaced and they were great. Their Installation people were: On time, clean, professional, did exceptional work and left my house cleaner than when they came. I called Green City to get two windows looked at. One window was having trouble opening, the other is having condensation build up within the panes. They sent John to come out and take a look. He was flexible with timing and met with me after work to take a look at the windows. He was able to repair one window on the spot (it took him ~15 minutes and he didn't charge me!) and give me a practical outlook for the other window.
