We have had to file a formal complaint against Green Construction with the BBB and Lakeland Chamber of Commerce. In early Fall 2021, we signed a Contract (approximately 10 months ago) for a home remodel. They replaced the sliding glass doors. The new door has built in blinds. The original date for the project to be completed was just prior to Thanksgiving 2021. The doors they installed, the built in blinds are broken. They installed the door, knowing the blinds were broken. As of May 1, 2022, they still have not replaced the door, they have not refunded our money for the door, they have not repaired the blinds inside the door. The foreman "Woody" keeps saying Pella says the parts are on back order. We have told them to find a different door, even Lowes has similar doors that could have been in-stock sooner. They refused to fix/replace the door and they refused to refund our money for the door. They also failed to vent the kitchen microwave outside the house as listed in the contract. We finally got refunded that amount. This project has gone way over the due date. We want the door fixed/replaced within two weeks or a full refund for the door (which is approximately 5,000.00), so we can purchase another one thru another vender. We have also notified the BBB for an investigation. We DO NOT recommend their services to any future clients due to their lack of attention to details and unresponsivness to correct their errors. We needed a re- roof due to a recent hail storm. Green construction was one that bid on our job through our insurance. We did not realize they were out of Tampa. The roofing crew lacked respect for our property. They did not tarp our bushes or screen enclosure. Debris was everywhere and many bushes were smashed. No one on the crew spoke English so you could not talk to them about your concerns. We had several issues come up that the company did take care of all in a timely and satisfactory manner. However, communication with them was poor. They had to fix a gutter they damaged and they did but we were not told when they were coming. We came home one day to find them here. Who in their right mind would ever side with morons who charge $50k cancellation on an implied contract. The insurance company only sees that they did 6k worth of work and they can't even provide proof that they did anything else. Boarding up a few windows doesn't equal to $67k. We had a relatively moderate experience in a recent remodel that was covered by insurance due to fire damage. While overall the company did a good job, communication with the job manager was very challenging. I really cannot speak to whether it was a good value or not but I would rather answer yes than no considering the limited information I have as to comparables. read more
