If I could give 0, I would. Girls lunch there, and all hot food poisoning. . The place was also dark and dreary-looking.

We ordered the fried green tomatoes. I only wish they were sliced just a tad thinner, but they were tasty nonetheless. My friend got the pork and she had enough for 2 meals. I got the grouper and it was a smaller portion but a perfect size and very good as well. The standout as the Reese's cookie. It was big and crispy on the edges and nice and soft everywhere else. We shared this and the price was great at $4. In a world filled with crumbl at $5+, this cookie blew them away. I really enjoyed this meal.

Well worth a visit had the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and we had the chicken and the salmon dinners with asparagus and roasted potatoes. It was very good. The service was outstanding. My drink was never empty and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. I like the old time feeling of being in old Brooksville which this place gives off. It's a place that would return to and if you haven't gone there at least try it one time. However. I would tell you make a reservation, but also get there early because parking is at times hard to find. I lucked out had a parallel parked right next to the front door, first time, my parallel parked in 40 years and I stuck at the first time very proud of myself. Here's some pictures of our dinners.

Established July 7, 1960 -- same location, same World Famous Footlongs, still slinging them out of a kitchen that's clearly been doing this a long, long time. There's even a framed cease-and-desist letter from Subway's lawyers on the wall over the word "Footlong" -- they told 'em no. Fifteen years later, still hanging there, still called a Footlong. We had the Short Reuben Dog and the Long Chicago Dog, plus a side of fried corn and onion rings. April took great care of us -- sweet, and clearly not slowing down with baby #2 on the way. The Chicago Dog alone is worth the trip -- easily twice the size, cheaper, and better than a certain loud-on-social-media hot dog guy's version. Yes, that's a dig, and yes, it's deserved. Fried corn was a fun surprise, onion rings were solid, and honestly -- what's not to love here? One gripe: there's a credit card upcharge that isn't clearly disclosed up front. Worth knowing before you order. Otherwise, this is a bucket-list stop. Wish we lived closer. We'll be back -- someday, somehow.

It was about 7.50 after paying in cash. I waited for a couple minutes, and it my name was called to pick up my order. I ate outside in a small bench. The hotdog was loaded with the toppings like relish, pickles, and peppers. I added mustard and ketchup too. The hotdog was plump, and the toppings were alright. It isn't as good as Portillos, but still decent for the price. It was filling for lunch too. The atmosphere is the same, but the party room in the back is now available in you have an extra air conditioned space to eat. It wasn't that crowded outside, but there were quite a few inside. I guess more people wanted the cooler area as it was a bit hot and humid outside. Parking can sometimes be hard to get in the front, so there is a back area too. There is a small stage for concerts now, but I haven't seen any yet. The mechanical horse still works, but the dino one was out of order, and the dolphin one looks to be gone. Staff is pretty quick and friendly. I am glad I ate here again on Sunday as the food was good and filling. No complaints for 7.50 on a footlong Nathan Chicago dog. Will continue to visit occasionally when I am in Brooksville. Overall: B
