Margarita was perfect , daily special (9 dollars each), I think the hamburger even though I ordered well done, you can see a little bit of pink but no bloody which's ok with me, flavor was really good oyster good flavor even They were a little bit smaller than expected, we also ordered the steamed shrimp which we found if to be a little bit too spicy (too much old bay seasoning to be specific) price was in the 120 dollar range after tipping 20%. I've seen several friends stop by and rave and of course being a local I've passed by a few dozen times. Even got a koozie at a fishing tournament a time or two. Hubby and I decided to go for a joy ride and we were of course impressed. Ordered a pound of steamed shrimp with a side of their Cajun melted butter and the blue crab dip. Best chargrilled oysters I've had yet. Fresh gulf oysters were above average, but chargrilled were the star of the show. Also got a half pound of the steamed shrimp, coleslaw, wings, and sweet tea. Service was efficient and folks working there were friendly and helpful. Realized halfway through lunch that BVL is part of the Cracker Kitchen collective but they did a good job at differentiating the menu & merch from Cook Shack and Cracker Kitchen. BVL is about 10 miles northwest of Brooksville at small village Stafford. Tuesday to Thursday has happy hour from 2 to 5 pm for raw oyster and charbroiled oysters. Their oysters are affordable due to demographic earnings capabilities. The bar is order on the bar with your name and brings to the table. It comes with spicy cocktails sauce and salty relish. The oysters are different size but the average size is not bad. I also their Busch Light beer. It is affordable for the new Tampa residents. Overall is good. I fell into this place just driving by. It was happy hour and I took full advantage of that. 2 for 1 oysters and specials on wings too. And the draft beer was only $2. There is no table service. You order at the bar and they bring it out to you. Going back to the crowded bar for refills is not the best experience but the food is delicious and the price is right. Our crew was in Brooksville yesterday morning to play at The Quarry disc golf course and worked up a good lunch appetite. Found this place on Yelp and thought charbroiled oysters sounded like a good way to do lunch. I was not disappointed at all. Had the Cajun seasoned style, and while a bit salty, glad it was accompanied by wedges of lemon to wash the extra salt away. I did also have the Cajun boiled peanuts as an appetizer as there was a good crowd and the oysters were taking a bit to arrive. Great combo with a craft beer for good measure. Signage said the place has been around since the mid-1800s, but I've yet to check into that. Overall, on a pleasant Florida spring day, this was an excellent place to go for lunch. read more

Oysters have absolutely no taste and shells inside. Definitely using a machine and not hand shucking. The wings we ordered were on special and we ordered buffalo- they came out plain. The ranch, blue cheese, and celery were 50 cents each. I understand this as things are expensive and this prevents waste. The crackers were stale and they was only give you 6 packs per tray of oysters (1 per oyster). There is absolutely no service at this restaurant and you order up front. Refill- have to visit the bar.
