Also, asked my personal ethnicity and made comments based on stereotypes. And that was the first meeting. On the second meeting and tour, there was miscommunication on my part and SHE thought I wanted to register my child, when I told her that I would get back to her, she changed from being pleasant to rude. Very Jykel and Hyde. She cornered me and my partner and I was looking at him for help as her tone & body language was angry, she was in my personal space. She told me that she called another person that spots were full in her daycare as she thought I was going to register my son then and there and take the last available spot in the daycare. I found her to be very unprofessional, rude and she talked over me. I didn't even argue back but listened and was shocked that this was happening to me as she was very unprofessional and had a blaming attitude towards me. She kept referring that I was lying. I don't know if you even felt talked downed too and made to feel like garbage but that was the case here. Earlier, my partner and I were debating to bring our son here due to the colourful environment and her being pleasant at first despite bringing religion in the conversation but BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you want to bring your child to a very nurturing environment, please don't bring your children here. The environment was deceiving as she was pleasant but mood changed towards my partner and myself as we were not going to register our son. I never thought that I will meet someone who talked over me, seemed very authoritative and had dictator style of approachng things. If you want someone nurturing, this place is very deceitful. Even a employee brought her tea like a slave, I feel sorry for the employees there. If I was treated like that as a client I don't know how she runs the place behind CLOSED DOORS. There has to be some law against people who are in daycare business who treat other people (potential clients), like my partner & I was treated. NOT A NURTURING ENVIRONMENT AT ALL. RUN!!!!!!!!

Hi, former graduate here! I thought that I should add my two cents to this yelp page…read more MVA was an amazing place to learn and connect. I attended from grade 2 - 12 and enjoyed every minute of it. The academic integrity of this school is above any other that I know of, and the teachers are incredibly passionate about their jobs. I wasn't a role model student, I needed a little bit more help than some, but the teachers would always put in the extra time to help me and to make sure that I understood the material. My colleagues that left MVA for another high school have often told me that the switch wasn't worth it because they were receiving a lower grade of education in trade of a bigger school with my more kids. If it weren't for the extra care and attention I received while I was attending school, I would likely not be studying for my B.Sc Psyc at UVic today. MVA helped build a solid foundation for my education, and as a result have opened many doors for me that may not have been available otherwise. Though I am bias in my opinion, obviously, it is only because I did go to the school for over a decade; I experienced first hand the quality and care that all the teachers (including the administration, as they often switch between teaching and managing) give to their students. If I could go back in time and choose differently, I wouldn't. I love this school, and if I have children in the future, MVA is my first choice. 5/5 - Would attend again

As an ESL student, I often needed extra help from the teachers due to my English level at the time, the teachers always stayed after school to assist me to go over the materials I needed help with. Because the class size was relatively small compared to public high schools, the teachers were able to ensure each one of their students was getting the best education they deserved. As an international student who came to Canada alone, I needed help not only with school but also with things in life in Calgary, i.e. finding a homestay family to stay with, extending my study permit and having someone there for me to talk to when I needed. I couldn't thank Mrs. P and Mrs S enough for all they've done for me throughout my journey here. They've gone above and beyond for what their responsibilities were as my high school principals. They took care of me like I was one of their children. My parents to this day still talk about them and thank them for taking such a good care of me. As cheesy as it may sound, MVA to me was not only my high school, but also my home. The help I received from MVA did not stop after I graduated from the school. After I graduated from MVA, I was accepted to University of Calgary. I was able to come back to school and asked the teachers to help me to go over my papers when I needed help. I graduated from the university 4 years later, and have been working for an oil and gas company since. Without the education and the help I received from MVA, I wouldn't be where I am today. Yelp only allows me to give 5 stars, I give MVA 1,000,000 stars!!
