I am more so rating a hairstylist. Michelle Kelley definitely disappointed me. I was communicating through my sister to Michelle about getting my hair done excuse my sister is friends with her daughter. She asked for my available times and I told my sister i was available on a sunday. My sister proceeded to ask and received a text from Michelle saying "Lydia (my sister) expects me to talk to her sister on Sunday. omg." Michelle had accidentally sent the wrong text to my sister that was meant for someone else. I found this extremely rude and unprofessional. Love love love my hair, thank you Tina! Decided to try Green Door Salon to do some major renovation work on my hair, and I'm so happy I did. I cut my hair to donate it. Tina was my stylist. She cut my hair to be donated, colored, and styled my hair. I was there for 3 hours and felt pampered the entire time. It was like a true salon day. Tina took the time to ensure the style was to my liking but also dared to add her own flair. I loved this, as I like to trust my stylist to know what would look best on their customers (that and I really have no clue what looks nice). I had a great time throughout the whole experience. Tina offered me water and made sure I was comfortable while we waited for my color to set. I have gotten so many compliments on my new do and it is only the first day! I like dramatic results and Tina delivered! Green Door Salon also offers mani and pedis as well as massages. This place is a joke! I made my appointment only bc they claimed the used Oplax while bleaching. They lied... She used a bonder? And after accused me of using something on my hair prior to coming in. Bc she ruined my hair. I asked for blonder hair with red lowlights got brown ones and lost 4-5" of my hair bc she FRIED IT!! So now my hair is short and not even close to what I wanted. Her name is Erin. I would avoid her at all cost unless you want to lose your hair. She tells you what you want to hear just to get you in the appointment. The whole time she said she was using Oplax and red color. After she said no....and she was afraid the red would bleed so she used brown??? Liar liar liar!!!! I went in asking to add reds, burgundy, and a little bit of blonde to me hair. I left with very dark roots and copper highlights that were mainly situated in the front. It's not a bad look, it's just not what I asked for and for $150 I was expecting more. Upon first leaving, I had very brassy bangs that were entirely copper that left me looking like Cruella de ville. My stylist, Heather, had forgotten that I had wanted to add bangs and had given me a high concentration on what was going to be my bangs. Heather scheduled me to come in the next day after I made a phone call and kindly fixed them. I'm sure that she also would have tried to fix my other color as well if I had said something. I had been going to Crystal's Styling Salon for about 3 years before I tried Green Door. Kim Yates is my stylist, and also my boyfriend's​ mother. Every time I go in, she does fantastic work on my hair. Whether it's a trim, ​color treatment, or a styling​ appointment for an event, she never ceases to amaze me. Her work is so fantastic that both my own mother and grandmother go to her. If you intend to go to Green Door and can get scheduled with Kim, you should consider yourself lucky because she rarely has openings due to the high demand for her wonderful work. 10/10 would recommend Green Door, and 11/10 would recommend Kim! read more

It's rare that I give any place 5 stars because no place is perfect. However, I can't find fault. Do not let the parking deter you from trying this lovely salon. Decor is fun, staff is friendly. I was recommended to the Green Door by more than one person. I have for the most part been a stylist shopper. Used to go to Kenneth's, Penzone, even JCP. I am now closer to home, paying less, and always happy. They now have a separate (yet attached) nail spa and a massage therapist. $45 for a massage is a deal. She was a delight to talk to and in all my years and I will say boldly my 50 years I've never left a salon liking the way she styled my hair and so very impressed with the cut to the shape of my face. I sit here waiting 25 minutes after my appointment time trying to decide if I'm going to return another time with a different stylist. The first appointment I made a stylist squeezed me in, thankfully - however after cutting 8 inches off- never even asked me if I was happy and I had to ask for a mirror to see the back of my head. I thought I'd try her again since she was nice enough to squeeze me in- so far the second time isn't going so well either. One of Downtown Delaware, Ohio's best new businesses is the Green Door Salon at 4 North Sandusky Street Delaware, Ohio. They occupy the former location for Captain Betty's Vintage Clothing, and they are already making a stellar and positive impact on our community. Just yesterday morning after I dropped off my wife at Keiko's Bead Box (20 South Sandusky Street) I went looking for a place to get a hair cut and beard trim. After checking out most of our downtown barber shops I came back to find my wife. She suggested the Green Door as they were at our Main Street Delaware Board of Director meeting the previous Wednesday evening. Upon entering I was met by the owners who immediately found a stylist "Emily" (who was there on her day off) who took care of everything She transformed me from a "Scruffy Santa" to a more professional look. I had someone else try to dye my extremely long and thick hair blonde and it turned bright orange. I called and spoke to someone at green door and they advised me to come in for a consultation. They set me up with Emily and she was fabulous!! I was there for 3 hours and had lots of fun and laughs, there was a point where 3 girls were working on my hair at once, talk about service!! I had her put purple in along with blonde and orange correction and I love it. I definitely will be back and am very pleased. read more

I have been to alot of salons and have to say that Green Door has been the best experience I've had. I have thick curly hair and it seems that everywhere I go and no matter what I ask for, it always looks the same. However, I loved the cut I got from Kristi and can't wait to go back. The decor is fabulous-very modern and stylish. All the stylists are friendly and it made for a fun atmosphere. Some other places I have been have been very stuffy and awkward. Getting your hair or nails done should be an enjoyable experience and I can definitely say it was. Their hours are convenient and location is great. Ill be a lifetime customer for sure, (and I even live in Westerville!) There are probably 50 places closer to me and more convenient, but I would prefer to be here. Check it out! read more

had the worse experience ever I went in to have a hair cut and dye and left with a hotmess . After two color applications and half of my hair chopped off I am so disappointed. I am still discovering mistakes a week later. I have strands of hair that are multi colors and a big chunk of hair missing innthe back. NEVER AGAIN OVER PRICED. Went to the salon for the first time and was not impressed with the skill set for the price paid. When I made the appointment I wanted to do 3 different highlight colors and the woman said they would only do 2 at a time. So, I asked for light blonde and red highlights and they didn't want to do the red highlights so they used another color that basically matched my hair color and a medium blonde (I asked for light blonde). Also, no one asked me what size highlights I wanted. (i would've preferred chunkier highlights) The ends of my hair ended up darker than before the coloring. When I got home I realized only part of my bangs had been trimmed so that I had to trim the missed pieces myself. And I paid $122 (includes the tip I left). Also, when I was in the salon 2 of the stylists were discussing other clients and money owed for color borrowed from each other which I thought was a bit unprofessional. I will keep searching for a nearby salon that provides quality professional service. read more
