I requested estimates from 9 different landscaping companies, providing them with a measured drawing and plant list for exactly what I wanted. Of the 9, I actually met with 7, and only 4 followed up with an actual estimate. Salvador's estimate was like his work: detailed and exacting. It was a really great framework for my project. My scope was to change the hardscape, sprinklers and flowerbeds in the front yard, replacing the lawn entirely on our parkway. I had recently had a couple of large trees removed by an outfit that turned out to be pretty sketchy, so I was looking for a contractor who seemed legit. Simultaneously, I needed to fix a poorly designed & installed sprinkler system in the backyard, doing that work myself. Salvador included an estimate for the back yard, he was one of only two contractors who actually checked the operation of systems I already had. When he realized I was going to do the backyard myself, he started texting me useful tips on how to fix my system. I had to wait a few weeks for his crew to start on our property, but it was worth it. The flagstone patio and walkway installed by Salvador's hardscape guy, Carlos, is a work of art. They had to talk me into using cement over DG, but I'm glad they did. Seriously, I have total strangers stop in their cars to compliment it. The sprinkler system is fantastic, much more robust, water saving and plant specific than I could have done on my own--really nice work that makes it easy to cater to the differing plant groups and trees as they mature. Salvador's crew built a little hill for me, installed my plant choices, ran lighting wiring for future use (can't afford it now, but maybe later). We had over 1000 square feet of garden to efficiently irrigate and we called Green Earth. Salvador walked through the property with us and it was instantly apparent he knew his stuff. I recently purchased a house and was therefore on a limited budget. The house had exposed pvc pipes, ugly garlic plants, leaking sprinkler valves, and misdirected sprinkler heads that sprayed onto the house. I made an appointment with Salvador to take a look, and he dropped by as scheduled. He had a sad personal event occur that day, and to my surprise, he honored our appointment. (I wouldn't have minded at all if he had cancelled.) Under the circumstances, I really appreciated that he dropped by. Salvador Erazo is very professional and is very honest. We have worked with several shady characters who call themselves contractors but who were incompetent and uncooperative.-Or they would cut corners to save money and to finish the job. When I met Salvador he said that I could trust him and that he wants to make his clients happy. I decided to go with Salvador because I believed in him. I had to wait 6 months before he could start on my yard because he is very busy. Salvador also is a calm person and takes everything in stride. If there is a problem he would say, "Don't worry we"ll fix it." He was always willing to work with us no matter what came up. He would also say, "No problem, I want you to be happy." Salvador and his crew removed the turf in the front yard and parkway and installed drip irrigation and drought tolerant plants. He referred us to a landscape designer, Jacky Surber, from Urbafloria, who designed the front yard. Salvador and Jacky worked very well together to get our project done. His crew installed flagstone pavers, ground cover and plants in the side yard. New lighting in the front and side yard was also put in by Salvador. One of our sprinkler valves gave out on the weekend and started spraying water. I got it shut off quickly but needed someone to come out and take a look, so I called these guys today based on Yelp reviews. Salvador answered the phone right away, and said he could come take a look after his other jobs, probably around 6. He texted me later to tell me he was on his way, and then showed up right at 6! He took a look, grabbed a replacement valve from his truck, and we were again good to go. I can't overstate how much I appreciate his willingness to come out that same day, the fact that he kept me updated on his arrival, and the fact that he showed up on time with everything he needed to make the repair. He told me that he's pretty booked up with large landscaping jobs at the moment, but he still made time to make a quick (and inexpensive) repair for someone he didn't even know. We can't recommend Sal and his company highly enough! We had a giant tree in our front courtyard, and the roots were lifting up the concrete, messing with out sewer pipes, and making the entrance to our house cracked and ugly. We figured since we were going to have to cut the roots, we might as well brighten up the courtyard. We got estimates from several people. Sal was the last one we met, and the minute I met him, I knew he was the one. His love of nature and what he does was apparent, and he really truly listened to what we wanted. He was beyond patient with us, as we have no design skills whatsoever and are horrible with making decisions. He walked us through the process and touched base with us every morning before the work began. When we told him we wanted pet friendly, artificial grass, he brought several samples for us to choose from. Again, he walked us through everything to make sure we were over 100% happy. Our only suggestions to anyone working with him is to make as many decisions ahead of time as you can. Find out before they start exactly what things you will need to decide on, i.e. stain color of the new wooden fence, the exact flowers you want to plant, do you want pebbles in between the flagstones in the new path, if so, exactly which kind, etc... These kind of things might be obvious to some people, but for folks like us, not so much. The process was delayed, because of our indecisions. Yet, Sal and his team were so patient with us. He always wanted to make sure we got exactly what we wanted, even sending someone over after the work had finished when we wanted to change something. If we ever have any other landscaping work to do, we will not hesitate for a second to call him. He and his crew: * did not remove the invasive plants, trees, and vine I asked him to remove * removed mature plants and a 17-year old tree that I did not want removed * did not trim the trees in the best way (and left a branch dragging across my garage roof!) * bunched mulch on top of the roses' knots (a sure way to kill them) * removed the pebbles from my front paths, which I certainly did not want * took short cuts and cut corners I will say that he was very responsive and nice and that he has great English language skills (important for me, as my Spanish is really rusty).
