This office is a great option if you are not wanting to bill insurance. Practitioner knowledge and results from my assessment continue to be positive. While I continue to have decent results from the assessment and recommendation of Dr Valenzuela, it was the office experience related to billing that garnered this not so fab review. I was a cash patient recommended to her office by another practitioner. I needed the superbill with the Dx codes on it to submit to my insurance company for reimbursement as this office doesn't work directly with insurance. I have asked for this code on the receipt from my last visit three times now since mid December and received no reply. At one point, I was told by Dr Emily that if I book my appts, the DX code isn't on the superbill, but if she books it, it is. Why is their a "book online" option on their website if she wants to book the appts? Furthermore, I paid her over $400 and am only asking for a Dx code for the last visit. It takes less than 5 minutes to add this to the superbill! Her last reply to me is and I quote. "We are a cash base business, because what we do in our clinic is generally not covered by insurance. So sorry we couldn't be of more help. The best thing I can do in the future is recommend getting an HSA insurance plan. You put money into an account that you can use for services such as mine or your chiropractor and then your insurance premiums are lower. Good luck" The HSA is a great suggestion but not attainable for me at this time. I did end up getting partial reimbursement for the initial visit from my insurance, and I know others who have these services covered by their insurance, they just have to bill and need the Dx code! Not a big ask when you are charging $225 for the initial visit and $90 for follow ups! Sheesh! I have since found another practitioner who does what this office does and does bill insurance and is super easy to work with. As sad as it is for me to give this review, the lack of response from Dr Emily speaks for itself.

I also knew that if I was to become pregnant, my risk of miscarriage was much higher. Therefore both my husband and I started to see Emily regularly about 8 months prior to when we wanted to start trying. She took me through the CellCore supplement program where I detoxed from heavy metals, parasites, viruses (all big triggers for autoimmune disease) and more, and additionally worked on my thryoid and adrenals with acupuncture. Within a few months I started to feel huge changes, my skin cleared up, my hair stopped falling out, my brain fog had dissipated and I felt so good and really prepared to try for a baby. The first time we "tried" and weren't even really trying we got pregnant. I honestly was in shock and beyond excited. Things like cell phones, antennas, routers, Bluetooth devices. For the most part I am okay, if I am in an area with not such EMF or when I am shielded from it. In looking to ease the effects of EMF, I was looking for a Schuman resonance generator, and that search suggested biofield tuning forks. I am like what? I have never heard of that before, so I watched so many videos with Eileen, found certified practitioners in my area and ended up with an appointment with Kathryn. This is something so different from anything I done. The theory is that your body has a biofield, that extends 6 feet from your body. The outer edge has to do with your birth and from there to the most recent years - the closest to your body. The tuning forks are activated and then the practitioner moves towards your body clearing stuck emotions. Pretty interesting. You need to read up on it. The appointment was for 90 minutes. 30 minutes a chat and 60 minutes of the actual tuning. As she walked towards my body finding emotions and events in my past, she was clearing them out. She also found some deficiencies or challenges in some of my organs. She also suggested I need a cleanse (same supplements as any Functional Medicine practitioner would). Kathryn was really kind, warm and positive. I got 2 insights that I did not have before. 1) We all need a body cleanse/detox at least once a year. Pollution, metals, chemicals, accumulate in our body and your body can take so much until it cannot heal it self and you get sick. It makes so much sense, never suggested to me before. 2) How do you cope with so many "polluting" events/energy now a days? You just trust your body. Your body is meant to heal itself, trust your body. In other words, do not worry or have anxiety. Your body can heal. Please note that you still need to be doing the best to help your body. Eat clean food and water, exercise, walk, move, and keep your body in tune (get it?) After the session, I actually got sick that night. I cannot say if it was from the turning as my body was detoxing or from the EMFs in her office. Some childhood events came back to mind as I woke up with a burning skin on my left shoulder, something I never felt before - I am sure this part came from the session. I got the books from the Biofield author as I am going deep in this subject. I would love to learn more about this and work with Kathryn along the way.
