There are two cabins on each side but no one was home. It's at the end of a dead-end road so it's nice and quiet. A deer and a fox walked past the cabin. I know I'll be staying there again. The renter confirmed that they do the cleaning themselves and it's evident. Pillow cases had stains on them, fridge and freezer had crumbs and hair in them. There should be a professional cleaner going in and sanitizing after every guest. Several things were broken (and honestly, dangerous). The door locks are also not in good shape. There is no deadbolt on the front or back door. The front door lock was literally being held together by BAND AIDS! Yes BANDAIDS. Ironically enough they had a sign next to the front door warning about bears in the area LOL. The patio fairy lights were not working. There's a floodlight that is on a minute timer so we kept having to move around if we wanted any lighting in the front porch or in the backyard where the hot tub is. If you get into the hot tub after dark, good luck, bring your own lights unless you want complete darkness. We specifically rented this cabin for the hot tub but it did not work. We followed the instructions posted. The "heating" light was on. We waited 45 minutes and the temperature didn't move a single degree. When we raised these concerns to Sandy and Bob, they were sarcastic and rude. Even after seeing the pictures with the proof. They claimed that all of our issues were because the home was "historic". Historic does NOT mean dirty and broken and unsafe. Imagine going to a historic museum and seeing things held together with band aids?! So just know that if you book and have any issues, they will not give a care in the world!

Our picnic table was right next to our neighbor site's picnic table; you can share a meal with your stranger neighbor if you wish. The stall doors in the bathroom are comically short; they were cut to about knee height when sitting on the toilet so that your junk is at risk of exposure while you're sitting on the toilet. The campground is also RIGHT off the highway so you go to sleep to loud traffic noise and wake up to it, too. It also backs right up to a residential area, so you can look at the back of folks' houses and hear their dogs bark through night. There were roosters to wake you up in the morning, too (ngl I kinda liked that part). My husband and I are avid hikers and campers, so we've seen a lot of campgrounds. This is my least favorite, right after one of the KAOs in Virginia. During our stay, I playfully dubbed this place "the trailer park of campgrounds," and before you come after me, I grew up in a trailer park (so I would know!). If you need a convenient place to stay, it will do. It's a place to sleep. But if you're wanting privacy, space, and quiet (you know, the things people go tent camping for), then you'll want to go elsewhere.

We rode in a six-seater UTV and had some of the best views I've ever seen, including incredible sights of Pikes Peak. Being out there really puts things into perspective. It was sad to see parts of the forest still recovering from a human-caused fire that happened years ago, but it also made the experience more meaningful to witness the resilience of nature firsthand. I had an amazing time--truly one of those experiences you don't forget. I would 100% do this again. Next time, though, I'd probably book it in the summer because it was pretty cold and my feet were frozen . Totally worth it, though! Located right outside of Manitou Springs, Colorado, the cabin was just what we needed. It is located near restaurants, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, The Incline, Etc. But you still feel as if you are out in the woods. The cabin has a full kitchen, combined dining and living room area. 3 bedrooms (2 of the bedrooms only had single beds in them) and a nice backyard area with a picnic table and fire pit. It was lovely to sit out there and watch the beautiful Colorado sunset (easy to see that God is a Bronco's fan...lots of orange and blue. Let's just hope God can help them get their s*#t together this year...lol). My only ding, the cabin was built in the early 1900's so theres no central air conditioning. Small room air conditioners in 2 rooms. The cabin was warm, but certainly not unbearable. We would gladly stay at this lovely cabin again.
