How am I supposed to do that as a 66 year old woman - I cannot pull the unit out to unplug it and plug it back in?!?!?! Extremely frustrating!!! Heard from Haylee at P and F on Tuesday. She said that the extended warranty would not have covered what she believed to be a worn igniter switch. We scheduled an appointment to replace that part On Friday, 10/17. Technician arrived early and completed repair in a timely manner. He was very knowledgeable and answered our questions regarding the igniter switch and its replacement schedule. Appreciate the punctuality and professionalism of the P and F staff - still cannot comprehend that using an oven for its intended purpose - baking/roasting - wears out the very parts that should support those uses!!! My last gas range/oven lasted for 22 years - not 14 months!!! They didn't build it - I get that, but what a warped world we live in when appliances planned obsolesence kicks in at 14 months!!! The unit has needed one part or another every single year.. Aside from and in spite of annual upkeep, he has cost me additional money every single year. Now I have learned that the unit was vented improperly and had a significant effect on the fresh air circulation. Which in turn has cause soot build up on the unit. More money. I have tried numerous times to get in touch with John over the past year via email or voicemail. Unsuccessful in both areas. It is both sad and frustrating to put your trust in someone who claims to be a professional. Find someone else.

I called at 5pm in the evening, expecting to get a call back later that week. He called me at 6:30pm, and went to see the job within 2 days. The quote was very fair, and significantly below the one other person I had been able to get to look at the job. A week and a half later, we had a new furnace and new hot water heater, 2 days ahead of schedule. John communicated with me daily, let me know of anything unexpected, and was on time and on budget. Managing repairs from afar is always a challenge, but John made it easy with great communication, including pictures. He even checked in with me 2 weeks later to make sure everything was working correctly. I wouldn't hesitate to call John again. Truly a professional.

We put up with it once but not twice: * Carpet was left filthy. Dog hair and grime left on the carpet. Lots of it. * We pay the minimum "3 room" rate ($125). Normally they make up for this by also cleaning our couch and easy chair - usually takes the guy 5 extra minutes. * Cleaning guy refused to do the couch, even though he was in and ready to leave after cleaning the one room in 15 minutes. He said, "I have other places to clean and I'm running behind" * When we showed him the dirt we were able to scoop off the carpet, he said "if you're not happy, just take it up with my manager about making it right" and took off. * We called the manager, mentioned the still-dirty carpet and the couch not getting done. He said, if you want the carpet cleaned again it's $125. * We said, we just had it cleaned today, and it's not clean. Will you make it right? He answered, if you're not happy with us, call another cleaner, and hung up. I guess, sadly, avoid these guys, they have lost their integrity.

They were professional, helpful and responded to any questions I had promptly, plus they're simply enjoyable to work with and talk to. Since the event was a wedding, Nancy and Jeff suggested white or tan portable toilets so that the color would go better with the overall look of the wedding. I hadn't realized that was an option, but I was very happy with the result and so grateful that they thought to mention it! I like being able to wash my hands with soap and water so we got the hand-washing sink, which is run by a foot pedal. The sink has 3 hand-washing sinks in it and comes loaded with soap and paper towels; it works great and I was so happy that we didn't have to figure out logistics like running water to it continuously! My fiancée and I didn't know how many portable toilets we were going to need for the 150 guests and 9 hours of festivities; thankfully Jeff knew exactly how many to recommend and he was right on target! We planned for Jeff to drop off the portable toilets and sink on Friday morning (the wedding was Saturday afternoon); Jeff arrived exactly when he said he would and got everything set up for us. It was awesome to have these in place on Friday since we had family and friends helping us set up and doing the ceremony rehearsal on-site that day. Jeff picked them up on Monday (so we were able to use them on Sunday, when we were cleaning up after the wedding too). Working with Houghton Sanitary was one of the smoothest, easiest parts of wedding planning and we wouldn't go with anyone else for the next time we needed to rent portable toilets and sinks!
