I finally reached out to Cota & Cota, seeing that they offered plumbing services. They said they typically only provided those services to gas customers (we were buying from Bob's), but I told them we were desperate, so they agreed to help. They showed up within 24 hours every time I called (which was at least five times over one summer) to get patch work done. Eventually, we decided on doing a full pipe replacement. They completed that work in 48 hours, and they did so despite a low electrical current running through the pipes thanks to dome DIY wiring the previous owners did and decided not to tell us about. We still need a new filtration system to reduce the acidity of our well water, but we now have functional pipes (mostly plastic). As far as I'm concerned, this company saved our home, and we are forever grateful.

You have to be on their case about removal, which proved to be a disaster (a day late; in a very urban neighborhood, this means parking permits that it was too late to extend, causing more expense from parking fines) -- be extremely clear about everything in their contract, as they will add charges at any opportunity, and there is no recourse for disputed charges. Cleaning out a basement with a personal dumpster is never going to fun, but trying to deal with this incompetent business made a trying task 10xs more difficult -- requiring many phone hours without resolution. Their smallest dumpster is a steep 700, and the price for additional hassles was 250. Nearly a thousand dollars for something I feel confident did not have to be so incredibly difficult. This holiday, I am thankful that I never have to deal with them again.
