We have had our system for 10 years. We love our solar. We wanted to make sure everything was still functioning and that we were maximizing our productivity. Green Muscle installed my solar and Powerwall on December 31st. They sold it as a single day install because my system supposedly wasn't complex. What actually happened was weeks of touch and go work by several different techs before the system did what I was told it would do when I signed the contract. The crew showed up on time that first day. Joseph, the lead, showed up an hour late. At the end of the shift he made a point of complaining about staying late, which was him making up the hour he'd missed, and they wouldn't stay the two hours it would have taken to actually finish. The job got left unfinished and my Powerwall got left sitting outside uncovered. They had to send a tech back out on a separate trip just to put the cover on it, and this was during a stretch when we were getting scattered showers. Before the install I told Andre, my project manager, that I didn't want panels anywhere roof vents would put shade on them. They installed two right next to a taller vent anyway, so depending on where the sun was, one or the other sat in shade for part of the day. If you're looking at a string inverter system, this matters much more than it sounds like it should. Panels on a string are wired in series, so the entire string produces at the level of its weakest panel. A single shaded panel doesn't just cost you that panel's output, it drags down every panel on the string for as long as the shade is there. That's the whole reason I brought it up before they started. They ended up having to come back out and relocate both. The backup is the part I'd want anyone considering this company to read. I never asked for anything less than whole home backup, not one time, and I signed on the assurance that my whole house would run on solar. What was actually written into the contract was partial, essentials only backup. When I raised it, nobody at the company could trace back a single piece of communication showing how that decision got made or who made it. Then after the install it came out that the solar couldn't see any load that wasn't on the backup panel, which meant most of my house was never going to run on solar the way it had been described to me. Their answer to that was an energy monitor. I spent weeks troubleshooting it before we established that it could only see half of my EV charger's draw, so it was never going to solve anything. Their next proposal was to move the charger onto the backup panel and bill me for the whole home backup that should have been scoped correctly in the first place. They had also missed my HVAC controller. So when the power went out, my air conditioning went out with it and roughly 90% of my house sat dark in the middle of the day at peak solar production. In Arizona. That is the single scenario this system exists to prevent. I also ended up running the entire interconnection process with my utility, ED3, mostly on my own. Coordinating with the power company is squarely a project manager's job, and honestly it was one of the specific reasons I wanted a company that assigns a dedicated PM to every install. Andre was AWOL for that whole process. I was the one tracking where things stood, following up, and keeping it moving. Beyond that, Andre kept telling me things were normal when they clearly were not, and nothing got resolved unless I pushed for it myself. At one point he forwarded me a reply asking for a photo I had already provided in that same email chain. When it escalated, Brett, one of the owners, asked me why I had agreed to a partial backup, which put his own company's scoping error back on me, and then told me he'd lose money covering the whole home backup because of how far out I live. Most of those trips he was counting were rework his own team created. I chose Green Muscle in part because every job gets a dedicated project manager. That turned out to be the weakest part of the entire experience. The system works now, months later, and only because I wouldn't let it go. read more

I contacted Green muscle solar to detach and reset my solar panels as part of getting my roof replaced. I had a quote from another company at a slightly lower price and asked if they would be willing to match it. They promptly agreed and quickly coordinated the job. The project manager Paula communicated with me every step of the way and her crew arrived as scheduled. They performed the job quickly and left everything organized and off to the side while the roof was replaced. Once the roof was replaced there was a slight delay in getting the panels reinstalled, but Paula let me know right away of the delay and her crew arrived as promised to reattach the panels. They quickly reinstalled the panels and left the sight very clean (as if they had not been there at all). I truly appreciate the professionalism, communication and courtesy shown by Green Muscle Solar. We all hate to shell out a few thousand dollars for these types of projects, but it makes it less painful when you deal with a company who goes above and beyond to get the job done. read more

After checking out multiple solar installers I meet with Green Muscle Solar and Brandon came to my house and explained the install process and the breakdown of the cost and answered every question I had thoroughly and detailed. He broke down the cost of the system and how the rebates would work and made sure I got the best deal possible! Just realized I forgot to leave a review after our Nov 2025 solar/battery system install by Green Muscle Solar. It was great working directly with a project manager instead of a salesperson. Jim came up with a system design that has far exceeded what I initially had in mind. My primary goal was to fully cover APSs demand charges / peak hours. After about 4 months of the system being online, we have not seen a single cent of peak/demand charges and our net bills have been a credit. I have an old (10-18 years) solar system that uses the inverter box system. Recently one of my 2 inverters died. Green Muscle Solar was much faster (and I suspect much cheaper) than another company I called. The other company required a $260 site visit first before even ordering the new inverter or giving me a price, despite the fact that I was already paying them to monitor my system. With Green Muscle, I only needed to send them photos of my system. The price to replace both inverters was very reasonable so I had them both replaced and I am thrilled that I can see the actual solar generation via a very user-friendly app. The warranty is 12.5 years. These guys really know what they're doing and were an absolute pleasure to work with. We needed our existing solar panels removed and then replaced to facilitate a re-roofing project. We obtained a quick quote from them which was better the quote we had received from the company that had originally installed our panels. They also went way above and beyond by recommending and designing a new layout for our solar panels that would maximize power generation. We had to have our roof replaced and contacted the manufacturer of the solar panels (First Solar) and was advised I needed to use one of their certified installers to maintain the warranty. Luckily I found Green Muscle on their website. Brent responded quickly with a quote and a promise they would work with the roofer schedule so we were without solar for a minimal time. Roof repair and replacement is a pain in the best of circumstances. It's worse when you have to remove and re-install your roof mounted solar panels. Fortunately, Green Muscle Solar performed very well and professionally in this task. Unlike some other solar contractors, Brent was responsive and provided good information to make this project as easy as it can be and coordinated with our roofing contractor (Armored Roofing.) It's not cheap to remove and install 48 panels, but their pricing is more than competitive. They replaced the mounting system with a much better one - the original installer cut into the roof tiles, creating holes for the water to go straight onto the underlayment (our roofer said we were lucky that we didn't get any leaks.) I'm now much more confident in our roof mounted solar system and I would not hesitate to engage Green Muscle Solar for any future projects. read more

Green Muscle Solar is a small business operation, owned by two individuals, Brent and Jim. However, due to their reputation for the quality of work and overall excellence, their business is growing rapidly. Selecting a solar company for my residential project was not an easy undertaking for me. It took me several weeks to finalize my selection down to Green Muscle Solar. I had heard horror stories from friends and family members about the service they received from their solar company and I wanted to avoid that. In addition to getting quotes from several other solar companies through EnergySage, I also separately obtained quotes from some of the big solar players in the industry. Just wanted to compare pricing. I am here to tell you the big guys wanted as much as $5000 - $7000 more to provide the same installation/equipment. Therefore, it became a no-brainer to go with one of the companies EnergySage provided me with. The quotes from them were very much alike, maybe a difference of a few hundred dollars each, but not $5K - $7K. Once I had settled on them, going back and forth with Green Muscle Solar went on for about a week. They were quick to answer my questions and provide me with solutions. Unlike the big companies, they do not use high-priced, salespeople. Therefore, there was no pressure from them to get me to commit and sign a contract right away. The solar system installation process on the roof of my house took about 6 hours and the electrical work about 8 hours. Both completed the same day. The installation crew was very professional in getting their work done and cleaning debris resulting from their work. The Electrician was like the Michaelangelo of electrical work. He was very meticulous as he went about, installing the conduit and electrical boxes, taking his time, and making sure everything was leveled correctly. As for Brent and Jim, those guys are the real deal. Whenever I approached them with a problem they were quick to answer and make corrections where needed. You will not get the level of service from the big solar companies you get from those guys. I highly recommend NOT! using this company. Brent and Jim are unprofessional and dishonest. When they were caught substituting/switching products that were provided in the plans and specifications, without any notification or approval, we pointed this out to them and asked for work to stop. We questioned them about this with the plans and specs they provided to us, which supports our assertions, and the relationship turned adversarial. Jim & Brent got caught and refuse to accept responsibility for their bad faith business tactics. They tried to blame the switch of specified products on supply chain issues. I pointed out that I contacted CED GreenTech, a national electrical supply company and that there were over 7000 standoff bases in California in two locations and the composition shingle flashings were available too. Then the excuse changed to "We meant our local supplier Wesco". Additionally, they disabled an existing exterior lighting circuit inoperable and refuse to fix. They continue their attempts to gaslight us stating we told their employee to cut and disable that electrical circuit and they won't fix it because its not in their contract. We have made multiple attempts to resolve the issues that we pointed out to them and had no success with our final attempt on October 27th, 2022. We have filed a complaint with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and will post the results once decided. We are extremely unhappy and will use remedies identified in the Solar Purchase Agreement signed 5 1/2 months ago. This should have been a red flag when we surpassed the estimated 6-7-week timeline.
