There's a certain bakery that everyone talks about in Mexico City - you know the one I'm talking about. But Mexico City is full of great bakeries, and Green Rhino should be on your list with those other well known bakeries. It opens everyday at 8:30 am, so I arrived at 8:30 am on the dot on a Saturday morning. A few moments later, I was holding a cappuccino and waiting on my gorgeous pastries to be packed up to go. Both of my pastries were beautiful and classic, obviously made with perfect pastry technique. But they also had flavors that celebrated Mexican ingredients - my two pastries included passionfruit and guava, respectively. They weren't just beautiful, they were delicious. I took my pastries and coffee to go, because I was sharing with my brother who's not a later riser. But Green Rhino is gorgeous inside. Right when you enter, you see the beautiful counter, filled with delicious treats. Then you can see right into their bakery - see the dough being kneaded, the pastries being baked, glazed, cooling on racks. And then there's a seating area with plenty of tables and chairs. So I had to talk mine to go, but you can enjoy their pastries and coffees in their dining area, watching their employees bake. The service was also very fast and friendly. Right in the heart of Roma Norte, this bakery should definitely be on your list to visit if you want to ooh and ahh and drool and scarf down some gorgeous pastries. read more
