stopped by here for an afternoon pick me up while passing through just as they were closing (literally walking out the door). as a barista myself, i would've just turned a late customer away, but they were kind enough to come back in and make some lattes for me! their house roasted beans and hand crafted drinks really hit the spot in a way a coffee from a rest stop never could. will definitely be coming back if we ever find ourselves in green river again !!! read more

The food was not so great. I ordered an egg burrito with bacon and avocado. It was mostly hash brown potatoes, no bacon (and possibly some avocado dip) and did not taste good. The strawberry garnish was dried. The help behind the counter could use some customer service training. The place seemed that it could use some attention. read more

Was passing through on my fiance's and my gigantic road trip from LA to Omaha/Chicago and back. Needed breakfast after staying overnight in Grand Junction, and apparently the Burger King on the main strip had closed. The place had no frills to the eye, but was cute (though was in need of some dusting and vacumming). In a corner there was a CD player and several CDs and records. The lady running the joint could have been nicer, as it seemed she was frustrated in dealing with non-locals. As I told my fiance, I would turn that place around if I were given the chance. As for the prices, Green River Coffee Company was a bit more than I expected in little ol' Green River. $4.95 will buy you 2 eggs plus 2 ingredients in a sandwich or burrito. Pastries and other breakfast items were also available. This is definitely a place for the locals, and I would still recommend stopping in if Green River is your only choice. It usually is, as west on I-70 after Green River there are no services for 100 miles. read more

Last weekend I came to this place twice, I just love that they have Rimini coffee, one of my SLC local favorites! I've been here a total of three times, all times I've ordered only an Americano and all were delicious. They have a great looking menu for breakfast and lunch, lots of seating, and many things to look at. I would expect the service in a small town coffee shop of this type to be a bit friendlier, but everyone is different and at least the coffee is good! It's a cute, unique restaurant. You order at the counter then grab a chair. I had the green eggs and ham, which was delicious! And the lattes? Get one! They are amazing...especially if you add whip cream! The whip cream is legit, almost ice cream! A friend had hashbrowns and they are very "eh" -- just grated potatoes that never got to the crispy stage. The atmosphere of Green River Coffee is so fun. There are old vinyl records, quirky bathrooms, a red velvet couch and so much more...stop by for the appearance and a latte if you're not hungry enough for breakfast, it'll be worth it! read more

I LOVE this place! First, they have GREAT coffee.. Iced, hot, espresso, cappucino - whatever you need :-) Plus several kinds of loose tea that they'll brew, for you, hot or iced. And they have a large selection of smoothies. They also serve awesome breakfast and lunch. They don't have a huge selection, but everything is fresh and delicious. The place is decorated with all sorts of interesting, quirky items - fun to just wander around. You can sit inside at a table, or in a rocker, on the couch, or outside. There's also lots of reading material to browse. They have a small gift shop with some lovely genuine hand-loomed Indian rugs and jewelry, plus several great mudheads (mudmen?) - hand carved and decorated figures from traditional Indian ceremonies - Hopi, I think. And local rocks and petrified wood. I first discovered this place years ago when I was on a dinosaur dig, and it became our go-to place. It's a unique, locally owed business - just the kind of spot I look for when I travel. Really glad to see it's still here! read more

WOW- after reading the other reviews I guess my experience was not unique. Just earlier this week, while on a road trip and passing through- My husband and I stopped in around 10am for some coffee and food. There was a customer in front of us with a son and the lady- I assume owner- behind the counter was just abrupt and her attitude did not match the cute ambiance of the place- which I immediately thought was strange. When it was my time to order I asked for food and she explained due to economics they don't have a kitchen staff over the winter months- I get it. But when my husband tried to order 2 shots of espresso, she said "you can have A shot of espresso." Okkkkk, can we get 2 - 1 shots of espresso??? When we got our coffee we sat on the sofas and she basically said don't get comfortable I'm closing as soon as I take out the trash. Ummmm I think I know why economics are so bad...the special of the day was "get the heck out of here". I left feeling super happy I would never be back even if I did find myself in Green River, Utah. My advice is to get some help at the counter so that you have repeat customers. read more

I stopped by this place as a last meal before heading into the bush for a 4 night backpacking trip. We wanted something hearty and to get us going for the day, and in Green River this is about the only non-chain non-standard spot. The interior is pretty mixed, you have an eating area and happy go lucky chachkis everywhere. There is a large chalkboard with your options, and they sound amazing. I got the breakfast burrito, and it was hot, full of all the goodies I wanted, and easy to eat on the road. The coffee was pretty tasty too, I got a mocha. My good friend ordered a bagel and creamcheese. Now to be fair, we live in NYC. But, this was super dissapointing. A plain (Lenders?) bagel was somewhat toasted and the cream cheese was on the side in a little plastic cup. So unnecessary! We were ordering to go, they could have saved the world some time and trash by spreading it on themselves, the CC might have warmed up a bit too which wouldn't have hurt. A fairly pedestrian/boring breakfast for my buddy. He liked his coffee too though. In the end your options are limited in Green River, but, this is worth a shot. I wouldn't say the lady that runs this place is rude. She's just not real friendly or talkative. She seems like she's got better things to do. It's weird because most people running little joints like this in off-the-beaten-path places usually give their customers a warmer reception.
