Review based on the lonnnnng lengthy manipulative Sales pitch that kept me on the phone a ridiculous amount of time TWICE today. I couldn't even figure out what she was asking me to agree to and when I asked, I'd get this long convoluted answer that wasn't really an answer. I repeatedly said I'm not agreeing to any contract without anyone seeing my lawn and its particular problems. (she said it's not a contract). In the end I only agreed for them to send me the quotes and information via mail. And that no one would contact me today (IDK why anyone would've contacted me AGAIN anyway?) Then 30 min later or so, I amazingly get a call from them listing all the work I allegedly agreed to. Wow, just wow. No thanks Green T. You couldn't pay me to use you. And BTW the prices that were spit out in the first convo were about double than others quoted. I didn't even need all this chemical treatments. I just wanted to know if they put down sod and if so, an estimate. I wouldn't have called in the first place had I seen their poor reviews on Yelp. I'm now worried I'm on their list for phone calls and mail. :( read more

I am writing this review as a previous co-owner of a professional carpet cleaning company. Therefore, I have a keen insight into the expectations of a professional carpet cleaning - and I communicated this when I called to make my appointment, inquiring about pre-treatment, chemicals, etc. Based on what Green-T claims, the service they provided should have delivered much better results. So, I rate the cleaning as mediocre at best. I have no children, no pets, and get my carpets cleaned regularly to keep the high traffic areas looking new. One in particular, a good pre-treatment could have returned the carpet to an almost new look, it did not (before/after pictures included, taken morning before I left for work and evening when I returned, after cleaning). For the high cost - which I am willing to pay, if pre-treatment, cleaning, and deodorizer are included - it is not worth it for the quality of service. From past companies I've paid $40-50 less for a MUCH better quality service, where my high traffic areas look like new. I was considering using them for landscape needs next Spring, so I am happy I was able to experience their service for a $200 bill, rather than a couple thousand $. I forgot - on my receipt they wrote "bleach spot." I walked my entire house trying to find said, unknown to me, spot - it does not exist. What kind of nonsense is this? read more

I took the day off work last Thurs and waited for the 2 hour window these idiots had told me they were going to stop by and look/assess my lawn for an estimate. Yep that's right they are so arrogant and I guess their business is soooooo good that they didn't bother giving us a quote nor did they call to reschedule-just basically blew off a prospective new customer that was going to sign up for annual lawn service lol. Can only imagine if we hired this unprofessional establishment how bad their service would be. Probably bill their customers and don't do the work. From the start we felt we made the right decision by using Green T for our replacement of windows. Wayne the salesman was fast, prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. The windows were ordered and came in faster than expected. Called on a Tuesday to schedule a time to install and came out the next day. Install team was top notch, great, hard working very personable, great quality workman ship and very knowledgeable too. Would we hire Green T again. Contacted them to realign the electronic eye on my garage door opener. And also replace the remotes that I lost 17 years ago! Service rep realized that the rollers were worn and the movement of the door caused the door to stop. Replaced rollers and had new remotes on hand. Less than 30 minutes later done! I contacted Green T services because they did a GREAT job in cleaning my dwelling, full vent cleanings, sadly, I wasn't there when it was done. I contacted them once again to do another dwelling, only to clean the dryer vent. They offered other services which I was unaware of. Having a low price to clean carpets, I decided be easier to have them clean than doing it myself. They are pleasant, professional and courteous while making the appointment. The tech that came out, Daniel, was also professional, courteous, and when asked to wear a mask, he did right away. He cleaned the carpets so well, they look as if brand new. He cleaned the dryer vents, perfectly, A LOT better than I could. Checked for pressures and I could hear all the debris running through the hoses. He was done in no time at all, where it would have taken me a half a day if not longer. I will continue to use their services. They are GREAT. Thank you Green T Services. read more

I was very disappointed with the Duct Cleaning service I received from this company. When the vents were taken off the walls and the floors there was no care for using a utility knife to cut the edges so the paint wouldn't chip. I had to repaint and touchup 85% of all the vents throughout the house. They also didn't put back the window wells properly after the job was completed. If they did things like this I would be OK if they told me.....not just walk away. It would have made a difference. However they did take the time to try and upsell me $100 furnace filters.....which I did not purchase. This service was over $500 and would not recommend it not only for the problems listed above but now that it's several weeks later it clearly didn't make that much of a difference. read more

Moving to the suburbs = Needing to hire a lawn service. So my hubs and I moved up from Chicago to Morton Grove. We bought a lovely home with a not-so-lovely yard. Apparently the previous owners had a lot of problems with weeds and sprayed the backyard with a "kill it all" rather than a broad leaf weed killer or weed and feed. So here I am with a half-dead backyard absolutely overrun with weeds. My dad, who can only be described as a lawn care enthusiast, recommended I try Green T. His words were, "TruGreen f-ed up my lawn. I like these Green T people a lot." Sold. I called them up and they gave me a VERY reasonable estimate for the rest of the season (we moved in mid-May, so they weren't able to do a full season of treatment) and talked to me about options for the dead grass in the backyard. I opted to wait until fall and have them aerate and seed because the conditions will be better for the seeds. I liked that they talked to me about my options for dealing with the dead grass. Over the course of the past three months, I see a HUGE improvement in my grass. It's really green and lush in the front yard and the backyard is seeing major progress. My next door neighbor even asked me what I was doing to my lawn because it was looking so much better. I know it really does take a few years to make a complete turnaround and I'm looking forward to an amazing yard next year. read more

There is price and then there is cost....just be aware! Please read the follow up at the end. I used Green T for my garage door maintenance after hearing their ad on the radio. They were reasonably priced but they did a lot of up selling. I kind of forgot about that but just recently I needed to have a spring replaced and the price was outrageous. When I questioned the price they offered a special coupon which brought it down some. I wasn't home for the actual service call my wife was and she calls me telling me that the service man said we need cables since they were the next to go. It immediately reminded me of the last time they serviced my garage door with the add on selling. The extra add on this time was $70.00 for two cables (The price for those cables at Home Depot is $6 ea. x 2 per door). Replacing the springs meant they had to loosen the cables anyway so the labor was already covered. I felt I had to go ahead and replace them since I wasn't there myself and I think he knew that. Who knows what he could have done to the existing cables had I declined since I wasn't there to personally see the work being done. It's sad that you begin to think that way but it's because of the way they operate. Green T seems good at hosing customers. They do a fine job and are prompt in getting out to do the work but look out! I'm not sure I'll be using them in the future, not sure why I did this time other than not wanting to mess around by calling others, that's my bad for being lazy. Follow Up Within an hour after posting this review I received a phone call from the General Manage at Green T. He informed me he had read the review and he wanted to discuss the events that lead to the above review. We had a discussion and I explained how I felt about the labor part and he understood my feelings and we discussed how all this might have been avoided and more economical had the cables been brought up as a possible needed replacement when a spring breaks. He mentioned that he also talked to the manager who arranged my service and the the actual service man. The thing that impressed me was that he took the time to call and sounded sincerely concerned about making things right. He offered to waive the $70.00 but I said that isn't what I want since I did get something out of it. My issue was not the price of the cables but the the cost of the associated labor and we made a compromise there. The call from the General Manager is what has turned me around and I will use them in the future. read more

It's OK. I mean we had the service for a couple years now. $45 bucks a treatment. Dandelions are gone. Crabgrass not so much. Not sure if they really know how to treat a yard long term or just get you short term results. Called to cancel and might as well have talk to a wall. Remember customer service is important. Instead of addressing an issue on why I would call to cancel you just get real short on the phone and more or less say "f-it" You do realize your not the only yard treatment in town. Typically I just call my grandma and ask her to use her carpet cleaner, but after the third or fourth time lugging that monster up the stairs, I decided that enough was enough. I was referred to Green Tee by my parents, and I'll be sure to thank them, because they did an AWESOME job! My beige carpet looks brand new, which is quite the feat considering how much crap has been spilled on it (word to the wise avoid having carpet in your dining room at all cost). I can only rate this company on the quote I received and not there service. WOW was it a bad one! I have apox 8,000 sq-ft of lawn, so I emailed them looking for a quote on a lawn weed & feed program. Chad from Green T called the next day telling my wife, he is not sure where we came up with 8,000 sq-ft of lawn as he measured our lawn at 13,000 sq-ft. hhhmmmm funny, we had four other quotes all come in 8,000 sq-ft so how could Chad from Green T insist that my lawn is 13,000 sq-ft? That's a question he couldn't answer either. Despite a 5,000 sq-ft difference and telling them no thanks were going with another company, Green T continues to call and try to sell me there service. Typical sales pitch were the best, we never raise our prices (why would they when there over charging from the start) and so on. read more

This is my first year with green T and they made it a lot better with my lawn. Thire fast and friendly staff helped make my lawn look better than it has ever been. I have used weed and feed of all kinds and still not look as good. The price was cheaper than doing it myself. I called after a few weeds popped up for a spray and they were out with in two days to take care of my call. I would recommend to anyone over the other guys out there. We had our front door replaced by Green T. Overall I am very satisfied by the look. There are a couple of issues: 1. The door itself is about 1/2 inch taller than the previous door, which means it can no longer swing open fully. They did come out to look and see if there was something they could do, but unfortunately, there was nothing. Since I did not specifically state the door needed to swing open fully (as the old one did when they did measurements), I feel this is partly my fault. I do wish they would have paid closer attention to details. 2. The wood grain on the threshhold is has completely rubbed off in a 1 inch section. I contacted them today in regards to this and will update upon resolution. So far, any issues have been resolved quickly, so I'm hoping the same occurs here. UPDATED: Unfortunately, nothing could be done with the first issue...I will not be able to open the door fully. They did replace the threshold and I'm completely satisfied with the result. Overrall, I'm happy with the final result. As I said before I wish I could open my door fully, but I feel this is partly my fault since I did not specifically state this during the initial discussions. read more

Used them for a couple years. They did a fine job at first, applying a very effective weed killer to rid my yard of dandelions. Then I had a similar experience as in IMN's review. No trace of fertilizer but a bill left at my door. Called them up and asked what type of fertilizer was supposed to be used at this application (since their trucks carry both liquid and granular). Was told "granular". When I told the rep there was no trace of granular fertilizer, he said "our tech's have discretion as to what type, liquid or granular, to use". Apparently, they also have discretion over whether to apply anything or not. read more

I had Green T Services for lawn care for MANY years and then all of a sudden TruGreen came and did an application (I wasn't home when they came). After investigating I found out Green T is NO LONGER providing lawn, tree and shrub, flea and tick, or mosquito defense services. They're concentrating on home services such as windows, siding & remodeling under the Green T name. BUYER BEWARE! After 5 monthly service calls I canceled the service for the rest of the year. I then was called by Green T to try to earn my business back, Green T asked to one of my 3 services for free. FYI, they are not 100% pet safe. They still use chemicals which can effect your animals. The only thing that is pet safe is what they rinse the chemical with, which is citric acid. The chemicals that they use to clean and treat the carpet can effect animals. I am not bad mouthing the company just hoping that people will reconsider their choice for when they see "pet safe" on someone's add. **They also missed a spot and I can't ask them to come back because my pet got very very sick after they cleaned my carpet*** In total I am out $272.00 for the carpet cleaning (they also didn't let me know that there was a coupon for first time cleanings) and $180.00 for a vet visit. **************UPDATE: So Green T came and cleaned the spot that they missed today 10/30/14. That guy that came was the best. He cleaned the spot without chemicals which made my cat super happy. It pretty much came out but I understand that without some sort of chemical it won't be like the carpet around it. I paid for services for the summer up front and received my first treatment for weed control and fertilization. I advised the seller that a certain area on the side of my home gets a lot of weeds and he said the crew would attend to that specifically. About six weeks now and they not only disregarded that entire area I mentioned, but they forgot to seed an area of my property in its entirety also. The yard they did seed still has some weeds and crab grass growing but I can't entirely say it's their fault, as weather plays a roll in all of this. read more

I started using Green T Lawn care for 2013. I have tried other companies in the past and didn't think it was worth using a company when I can do it myself. When I spoke to the Rep he assured me all their work is guaranteed. And If I ever had issues to call them so they can do a service call. When the first couple applications were done my lawn was super dark green. I also had dandelions in yard. When they sprayed it took a few days but they were gone. in the summer I had a tree taken down and had them do a seeding for me. The tech went over specifics on how to prep for new growth. Although he seemed young he knew what he was talking about. I looked up on the internet and found the advice he gave me was dead on. My grass was growing in two weeks and was actually a really thick and green. When I did have more weeds pop up they came out and treated them at no costs. The people on the phone are always pleasant.
