Foxglove Retreat is a cozy space with a wonderful view. The area is quiet and surrounded by wineries and a popular brewery. What we enjoyed most was the view and sitting around the fire pit on the deck. I really like the attention to details like the soap and shampoo provided like you would get at a resort. Everything we needed to cook with was there. Also the personalized Foxglove Retreat items like brochures, chapstick and napkins are very nice touches. Baker is a great host and very informative in to what is all available locally. We did not want for anything. I will definitely stay here again.

First time we have been able to go away for our anniversary-ever. The cabin is beautiful, secluded and wonderfully stocked and clean. This is our 6th time renting from this company so we knew what to expect. However, this is the first time we had a problem. The hot tub did not work. It would not heat. Gary, from maintenance was wonderful and came and tried to fix it but it needed parts he could not get over a weekend. We were extremely disappointed because this was a big reason we came here and paid extra was to have a hot tub. Ok, things break. Biggest issue for me though was the lack of communication. First, when Steph, the owner did contact me it was through email, which I did not check because I am on vacation and they have my number. Then when she did actually call-the day after we reported the issue, she suggested we could use the cold hot tub. Also, the problem was electrical so, no not going to sit in a cold hot tub full of water with an electrical problem. She proceeded to then tell us that she would contact us later that day about a discount. That was yesterday morning, it is now 11 pm the next day and we are leaving tomorrow. I called her this morning, had to leave a voicemail, requested a call or even a text rather than an email to get an update on repairs and to discuss that discount. No call, no text. Zero communication. I cannot begin to express how utterly disappointed I am not only because I did not get to soak in a hot tub for 3 days like I planned, but on top of that the absolute lack of communication and complete disregard for us. She did not even ever say she was sorry this happened. Not once. Very bitterly disappointed. I still gave three stars because thanks to Ashley, the cabin is wonderfully clean and because Gary really made an effort to correct the problem, coming out on his weekend three times. We were very grateful for his efforts.

There also was a nice screen porch with patio furniture. Where we constantly sat to enjoy our coffee. This is a dog friendly environment. We only have one dog and we paid the additional fee of $30.00. It's not a bad fee at all. The back deck patio is spacious and that is where you will find the hot tub as well. We really enjoyed ourselves. We played games and watched Netflix while indoors. There is no cable but the phone and internet service worked out great throughout our whole stay. This can be for a total of nine people. We stayed a total of three nights. FYI while using the gas grill on the porch. Please make sure the kitchen door remains shut. The smoke detector went off and scared my poor dog. He was shaking because the lady's voice was loud and we couldn't get it to shut off. It finally did but that was a bit much. Yes l want to be safe but it was the smoke from the grill. Besides that we had a great time and definitely plan on returning next year. Berkeley Springs is a beautiful area with the Cacapon State park a short distance away. This also had an extra bonus a basement with the washer and dryer and tv. Daybed and my son said it was quite comfortable down there. Can't wait to return!

Even though it feels very remote, the grocery store is only 2 miles away. A fireplace on each level and updated appliances make it very inviting. There was more then enough wood stockpiled for us. Its pricey but can easily accommodate multiple families to make the cost reasonable. There is a ping pong table in the basement and my only suggestion would be to add a pinball machine and/or arcade style game. We went to nearby Hawn's Overlook of Raystown lake. Absolutely beautiful. We hope to make Bear's Paw Lodge a pre-christmas tradition. Though I can see this place growing in popularity.

It sits at the foot of many acres of private hiking trails where you will see deer and other wildlife. The two-room cabin can comfortably sleep 4 and includes a fully appointed kitchen. There were lots of goodies in the fridge, a bottle of wine, lovely blueberry cookies, and we felt immediately at home. And it's quite a reasonable price for what you get. My wife and I stayed 5 nights so the multi-night discount made it very worthwhile. The only thing that would have improved the experience (for me, since I'm an internet guy) would be wireless connectivity. There was a phone but only local calls permitted there. We will definitely be back!

It featured three beds, a master bedroom with a private deck, a large main deck, a spiral staircase, a dining room table, mini fridge, hot plate, two futons, kitchen utensils, a small TV with DVD player and coffee making equipment. There are lots of places to lounge both inside and outside the tree. Outside the treehouse there is a fire pit which we used for s'mores and potatoes. There is a place to purchase firewood right on Ella's property. The property has a .75 mile trail through the woods with numerous animal discoveries along it. My son and I enjoyed trying to find them all and predict what would come next. The property also had many fairy gardens around it. There is also a fort building area giving families many options to do outside. Ella's is an awesome, upscale nature experience in the Deep Creek area. We will definitely return during our next visit to Deep Creek.

There are also large living and dining rooms. You can walk on paths on the 175 acres and enjoy the 2 Japanese oak baths on the lower level. I couldn't have found a nicer place to share memories and spend time with those close to me and my ex. We sang, cried, enjoyed the baths and shared meals and memories.
