UPDATE! Green Valley Golf Club is def one of my favorite golf courses in the Denver Metro Area! ++ The greens are always fabulously maintained. Recently the BF and I spent some time on both the driving range and the par 3. Everything was lush and well manicured. Plus yardages are well marked too! ++ There's a restaurant in the club house (because you know I need my Bloody Mary fix after a couple hours at the range) and a wonderfully stocked pro-shop. ++ Staff is always super helpful and friendly. Not only are they ridiculously knowledgeable, but they also come by and fill your ball buckets/bags while you're at the range. ++ Pricing is on point. For a mere $20 per person you get access to the par 3 and driving range for the WHOLE DAY. Yeah, you read that right. ++ They often have events that might restrict activities available to the public. Recently they set up a kids driving range with various inflatables. Fun for those involved! Green Valley Golf Club will continue to be one of my go-to courses out east! **Note: Keep in mind that you need to wear a collard shirt and no jeans (regardless of how nice) allowed! This course is so under rated. Great environment for a course with the protected first creek wetlands. Lots of fescue grass and water. The carts are very modern with gps tracking and built in scorekeeping. One of my favorite courses I've played in CO. read more

I only used the practice facilty because I have hours to kill before flying out of Denver airport. I'm glad I did because its a great facility! You hit off the turf, three practice bunkers, huge putting and chipping areas. Nice clubhouse next door for a beer afterward in A/C. Can't ask for anything more. read more

Big driving range, good putting green, and chipping area. Sometimes it's hard to hear your name called so keep an eye on the clock since the starter house is 100 yards away. Some enjoyable holes and risk reward shots. There is usually one hole on a golf course that just doesn't make sense to me. GVR number 16 is probably one of the worst though. There are a handful of trees directly in front of the green. Makes no sense. Cut it down and have 1 big one there, would be more fun and understandable. This hole is probably tied for my number 1 dummest hole in Colorado. Go short, long, right. There are 6 trees in the way. Tip: Don't fly the greens here, quite a few greens are guarded by oob grass. Great course, Perry Dye lay out, home of Colorado State Open and numerous other events. Course is relatively flat with ample fairways, receptive large greens. Difficult par 3's, a variety of par 4's and fun par 5's including No. 18 that measures 608 yards. Super friendly, helpfull staff throughout the course from Pro Shop to Starter to on course Marshalls. A great golf experience at a more than reasonable price. No matter where you are, it is worth the drive. Head Pro Matt Bryant is there to answer questions and assist, super guy to talk to. Oh, also a great practice area. No negatives at this track. Also a wonderful restaurant, try the Pesto Chicken Sandwich, it is great. read more

Colorado is known for it's beautiful mountains and its awesome breweries, and it's sunny 300 days out of the year...hence the reasons my friends and I decided to play a round of golf [my first i might add!] right down the road from home. Here's the breakdown: 1. The course itself is nice, well groomed and easy to get from A to B. We chose to not rent a golf cart, but walk the nice course :) 2. The service is friendly, full of information and very helpful. I especially liked the man's smile behind the desk the pro shop. 3. It's decently cheap to play 9 holes, at $10 a person! Very rude staff member. Let me preface by saying that thecourse is wonderful. Beautiful greens, great condition. Awesome practice facility. If that's what you want absolutely go for it. Just don't go here to practice. And if you want the total package, I would recommend Murphy Creek. I went there to get a little chipping and puttting in (maybe hit a small bucket) since I was dropping my mother off at the airport, I noticed they have a cool new little practice area. I walked over to check it out seeing that they had signs saying it was reserved. Cool, I figured I would see if any of it was open to the public. Just then an assistant stepped out of the shop and yelled: "Sir you want to check in with the golf shop first?" A little odd for a public practice facility... But whatever, I walk inside assuming I may have to buy a bucket before I can hit some pitches. Fine. I walk up to the counter, the guy seems friendly enough and then leads with: "Just gonna walk on without paying or...?" -- F*** that. I'm happy to pay, I wasn't even walking towards the course. I was admiring the practice facility. At least tell me you're joking pal... No, he was just casually accusing me of trying to play free golf. I ended leaving cause I had a t-shirt on and they only allow polos, which is actually fine just good to note for the future. But I'm glad I didn't spend money here. Golf is expensive and I love it, but I'm not gonna spend $92 to play somewhere I don't feel welcome. If you are reading this, I understand you may have had a bad day. But don't treat customers like garbage. read more

This is an A+ course. No matter your skill level GVR has something to offer. The staff is by far the BEST and most FRIENDLY in town. They always treat my friends, my girlfriend, and myself with the upmost respect. We have been members here for nearly a year and we are planning on signing up again. Why you ask...5 tee locations make it always fun and different. Fairways are always on point. Greens are the best in Denver, hands down!! The practice area is amazing, range, putting area, and even a dope a$$ chipping area. The academy is top notch and the real deal! Don't mess with the rest, only buy membership from the best, GVR! Started storming shortly into 18. Finally gave up after 8 holes with ~3 hrs of daylight left. Had dinner and drinks in the restaurant trying to wait out the storm. We were told the course was too wet and they took our carts sitting at the restaurant (which still had our stuff in them). They gave my party a raincheck for 1 hole. I live within a mile of this golf course and wanted to just use the driving range. It's a good idea to call or check their website ahead of time because there is a dress code. At first, I thought it was pretentious, but it actually looks like a more serious sport when you look around and everyone is in uniform, just as NBA players wear jerseys. The rates were $11 for 45 minutes, $16 for 90, and $21 for par 3+driving range all day. Balls are already in baskets and they fill them as needed. As a newbie, 90 minutes was a workout. It's not a covered range so plan on wearing sun protection. I plan to come back to try their par 3 course. read more

We're in the Denver area once a year and decided to play Green Valley Ranch last year because it was close to the airport. After the 5th hole, the sky opened up and we had to end our round but the pro shop was nice enough to give us rain checks. Heading to Denver this year and was planning to play GVR again and noticed that the rain checks expired on 12/31/18. Called the pro shop to explain our situation but the staff said the manager is a "stickler for rules" and wouldn't be able to accommodate. We would've like to make GVR a part of our annual stop but won't be coming back again! read more

to pay over 100 dollars to play a course that's in worse shape than courses that are 70-80 is already tough. beyond that, having marshals ask "how many tee shots are you supposed to take?" when someone takes a second tee shot because the first one went in the water is quite frustrating. we were waiting on every single tee box for the group in front of us, which is totally ok, but don't harass me and talk to me like I don't know what I'm doing. Will be paying lots less to play nicer courses with better customer service in the future read more

Really enjoyed this course on a recent buddy golf trip to Denver. Staff was excellent and they were able to accommodate us at the last minute when we added another golfer to our group. The holes are pretty straight forward without many surprises and everything was in very nice condition. Great patio to sit and have a beer while watching players finish their rounds. read more

I've played in the past and the course was always in great shape. I played today for the first time this season and it is in an embarrassing state of disrepair. Every single hole has massive dirt/mud patches either right in the fairway, a few paces off the fairway, or right off the green. They should be ashamed to be charging $100+ a round on weekends. Save your money and play one of the Denver or Aurora city courses, far cheaper and in much better condition. read more

I played here twice in April with some classmates, and walked both times. I don't like to spend a ton on golfing which is why we went during the week. Since it was the 'off season', we were able to play for $32 one round and $22 another. Definitely look for deals online before booking because I know this course is usually around $50+ during the summer. The range is nice, and is included with the greens fees, so get there early to practice a bit! The practice greens are great as well, with a couple of chipping greens and a large putting green. Don't forget to wear a collared shirt as part of the dress code, even if you are just going to hit some range balls. I would suggest buying a course layout book for the round, with yardage markers from points in the fairway as well as a layout of the green. Knowing the green before hitting your approach shot here is very important for setting yourself up to putt. Not a super long course, I found myself hitting a 5 wood off the tee a lot to keep it straight and usually only had 130-170 left into the green. The greens are not super difficult, but are very large with big slopes in certain areas, which is why knowing the layout and pin location is helpful. Sometimes it is much better to go over the green and have a pitch from the upper tier, rather than have a 40 foot putt from the lower tier. Overall the staff is friendly and helpful, and the course is in great shape, so get out there and hit 'em long and straight! read more

Booked GVR on a last second deal from golfnow.com , price was $57 including cart w/gps and unlimited range balls. For Downtown Denverites, this course is out there all the way by the airport, but easily accessible of the highway. Friendly staff checked us in and surprisingly the course was not busy, they told us no one was infront of us or behind us so we could go whenever we wanted. The course itself is really well kept, the fairways were accommodating, however if you verged of the fairway your ball was lost in tall grass/straw. The layout made you think, lay-up? or drive? and how will the sand trap come into play. Speaking of sand this is the ONLY course I have played in CO which had real sand, not that hard stuff. Greens were pretty large, so getting on was pretty easy, but not a gimme for 2-puts. Par 3s are long, Par 4's can be had and I dont know about that 600+ yard Par 5 on 18, that gobbled up 2 balls!! Overall great golf course. I'd give it a 5 if the cart-girl didnt stop serving at 3, and the food at the clubhouse were better read more

I love my little snobby golf course. It has the best best practice facility, for $12 it's all you can hit golf balls at the range. Once may find better deals on golfnow.com, but it's normally about $60 with cart to play here. This is were the you can see Elway play during the Colorado Open. The greens are in great shape, don't have to worry about putting in a rice patty field. But heads up, no jeans allowed for my fellow redneck friends who like to go casual. You're better off picking up some Subway down the street, rather than the bar food they have there. read more

Had a lesson here via my most awesome complimentary Sassy Golf membership - Thank you Yelp! The course is beautiful. Simply Beautiful. The golf academy is fantastic. The setup is weatherproof. The view of the course is still awesome (from the teaching nooks). They have cameras/ editing booths setup to show each student how to change their stance, improve their swing and basically what they look like when they are playing. It's a great tool (very hi-tech). They have 18 holes, and a 3 par course, and lots of practice space outdoors. It's basically a beginners dream course. Love! read more

This is a great course. The layout is well constructed and it felt like there was a lot of variety in the holes, unlike other courses where the par 4s can all start to run together. A couple very challenging holes, a few that are ripe for the taking and some in between, depending on how accurate you are off the tee. I will say, it probably needs to be played a few times so that you know where the garden spots are, it's not always obvious from the tee box and what you think are great tee shots can turn out to be less than ideal. One thing I really like is that it's a pretty darn good walking course. The walk to the first tee is a hike, as is the transition between 1 & 2. But after that, each tee was very accessible from the previous green. I also like that in some spots they have laid out wood chip trails to ease the walking experience, rather than forcing you to walk on the cart path or through deep grass. Very nice experience. Also felt that it is a great bargain for a top notch course with all the amenities and complimentary range balls. This very well could be my home course here in Denver. read more

This course is pretty sweet. You can have fun on the field or get in get practice at their sweet multi-faceted practice area: short game, range, putting green. The practice area isn't some small add on, it's huge with space for everyone. I didn't have much time to spend here... i had a plane to catch but next time, i will definitely explore the practice area. There are a couple of holes where the course designer wants you to tee off one way but after having course knowledge, you will know how to play it more effectively. The greens didn't hold for me so it's better to hit before the green and let it roll forward unless it's a back tee. They have a 3 hole challenge: 16, 17 and 18. If you par all 3, you get a free drink at the clubhouse. The clubhouse has an cabin feel to it but still fully serviceable. People at the pro shop were gr8. I would def come back and play the course. I want another shot at this course. read more

I scheduled a tee time for 10:20 for two, we called at 6:00 that morning to change the tee time to 7:00 to add a third and the clubhouse was very accommodating. We drove nearly an hour from our house to the course and upon arrival discovered there were no carts available as they were all reserved months in advance to the members. There was no mention on the website or the app of there not being carts available, even though the cart guy said it's out there, only the risk of them being limited due to single riders because of Covid (completely understandable as all courses have this warning now, but a 7:00 tee time anywhere else would guarantee a cart). There was also no mention from the clubhouse when we called in at 6:00. If you have carts reserved months in advance then have the decency to inform people of this prior to them reserving a tee time. We would not have reserved a tee time with you in the first place. read more

Green Valley is between Denver and DIA, but it's worth the trip. Very reasonable green fees with cart ($75 for a Saturday morning), and while the area is new, the course is mature and it feels like it has been there much longer. There are some great vistas (the entire front range - realize you are 20 miles northeast of downtown!). The course was in reasonable shape for the time of year. The only negative was the cart - it had a GPS screen but it did not work. Decent access to I-70 and E-470 (toll road). read more

The golf course is absolutely fantastic and the grounds crew are working their tails off to keep it beautiful. Just a warning since they are undergoing a renovation of the clubhouse they have a snack shack. The snack shack is absolutely horrible. Avoid it at any cost & bring your own food. Snack shack looks dirty and when I opened up the breakfast burrito it was powdered eggs and some foreign matter they called sausage. It was absolutely disgusting. They took it back and returned my $6.00. read more

This is a very good Denver golf course. To Dano, who claims this is a "goat track", I suggest you look at the news and see what type of weather Colorado has been getting. Dry, no rain, no humidity, hot. Not ideal conditions for keeping a golf course in good shape. Compare that to SC where you're from and your little brain should begin to understand why a course would be in better shape in that climate. The course is in worse shape than in prior years, yes. As a resident of Colorado and knowing our dry and hot summer, I can fully understand why that's the case, however. To Derek, how was the staff rude? Did you request to leave early before your time and they had no space so they said no? Did you want to get a "deal" and they refused? Did they not find your golf club so you think they stole it? Please elaborate in your review. Just saying they are "rude" does no one any good. I have had a few instances of bad customer service from some staff, but the staff as a whole is accomodating as can be reasonably expected and kind to those who don't come in expecting the world. Come to think of great staff, I wonder what happened to Tony, he was always the best guy there. I haven't seen him at all this year, hopefully he went on to something bigger and better. In response to "ghetto" and "thug golf course" comments, you should take your racist attitude back to the 1950's. You just say that because there are black people there and Green Valley Ranch is in an area with a higher percentage of blacks than other parts of Denver. You want your uppity white boy golf? It can be a bit steep to play during the ideal times, but online specials and promotions they run make it all very worth it. Getting an early twilight time cuts the price in half usually if you don't mind golfing after 4pm. This is one of the few daily fee golf courses I can think of that offer free range balls with the green fees. The practice area is considerably nicer than other courses and the par 3 course for a $10 day pass is a steal compared to Harvard Gulch or other local par 3 courses. The course conditions are usually amazing (except when there's no rain to be had and the high temps are above 90 and even above 100 for a couple months). Yes, you have to wear a collared shirt and no denim is allow on the golf course anywhere, even to practice, but I guess that just adds to the "ghetto" and "thug" of this place, right Derek? read more

Love this course but every time I play I can't even finish 18, the pace is horrible and maybe half the players will let you play through!! Unfortunately, my solid color t-shirt was not appropriate, and they requested that I get a collared shirt, just to use their driving range. Came to putt for 20 minutes before a work appointment. Took 2 steps on the grounds and a club pro on the practice green smoking a cigar smirked at me and the two guys he was teaching laughed. Followed by another staff member sprinting out to stop me from hitting any putts. He kindly asked me to leave..... Because I was wearing jeans on a PRACTICE GREEN on a PUBLIC course...... played golf all my life and carry a +3 handicap and have never felt uncomfortable on any course anywhere but this was the first time.
