I needed some repairs in my front yard so I called this company for an honest quote. I got an extremely expensive quote which at the time with inflation and just everything going up in Price I figured it was honest. I almost pulled the trigger on this work, but I said to myself let me just get some other quotes from other companies and see what they charge. I went to five different companies and got five extremely different quotes from the one I got from Green vine. The quotes I received were thousands of dollars off from Green vines quote. We are talking over $6k difference. I am realistic. I didn't expect the quotes to be exactly the same but five companies quoted me a few hundred bucks and green wine was quoting me thousands of dollars . Greenvine quoted me for work that absolutely did not need to be done and tried to take advantage of me. I respect the game I understand people gotta eat, but man this was just highway attempted robbery. This company is not honest, untrustworthy, and just plain shady. Ivan and his crew were very responsive to my questions, which I know can be a bit annoying at times. After 2 days I was concerned about how things looked, but I should have trusted his crew, because by day 3 my concerns were alleviated. Serves me right for worrying about something before the job was finished! Green Vine installed a simple, yet pretty, redwood fence in our side yard. Too busy to be bothered, apparently... must be nice to have too much business. Ivan met me at my property and we went over my needs... I either needed an existing irrigation system repaired, or a bigger job of removing the lawn and converting to low water plants and a drip system. We met on a Thursday, he promised the two quotes sometime the next week. Well, I did hear from him on Friday a week later, so some kudos there, but the quote provided was only for scenario A, fixing the irrigation, and he included $5,340 worth of re-sodding my 8' x 20' lawn, which he specifically told me I would NOT need to do if we got the water flowing again. When I called to ask him about that and the second half of the quote, he seemed to have no idea what I was talking about and asked me to put my requests in a new email... When I expressed my frustration with having to go over again what we had talked about in person, he replied "Well, we have over 100 quotes to do, I don't know how long it will take" No thanks, I'll give my business to someone who actually cares. read more

Sad to give this review as Ivan and his crew are nice people. However the artificial grass I spent A LOT of money matted down in half the area within the first year of install. FABULOUS!!! From planning through completion of the project, Ivan and his team were wonderful! They went above & beyond with excellent prep and attention to detail with the concrete patio, tiles in the front entry, pavers in the driveway, irrigation system, and plantings. They thought out drainage and replaced an old gate when needed, always discussing each need with us beforehand and accommodated all the "extras" that we asked for. The team was always cheerful & respectful while doing their work and never used bad language. Ivan had all of the heavy equipment needed for different situations and was able to complete the job in a timely fashion. We hired Greenvine to do regular maintenance on our front and back yard. After 3 months, they showed up twice, despite us trying to get in touch with them multiple times to come maintain the house. The final straw was they scheduled a time, we confirmed the night before AND the morning of AND in the afternoon... but they still just never showed up. Javier claimed that they got busy on another job earlier in the day -- there was not even an apology whatsoever and the next availability was 8 days out. Unacceptable. Very unreliable. Only hire if you want to waste your time. The work itself was also mediocre. Our lawn has spotches and was not properly watered or maintained. Lastly, we had to chase them 3 times for the billing so we could pay what we owed! Turns out they kept sending invoices to the previous owners of the house, despite giving them our contact info multiple times. What a headache. read more

He promised a bid in a couple days. A week came and went. I text him to followup and see if he had a chance to work on our bid. No response. Over the next couple weeks, I reached out via phone and email. Never had a response. Would have loved to have used him. I guess he decided our job was not worth it. They built a gorgeous fence and gate, installed turf, created a beautiful wall of custom concrete and steel planters, installed lighting and irrigation and also built a beautiful bluestone patio and pergola - from which we are going to hang swings for our children. They showed up when they said they would, they worked nonstop (I put out snacks bc I was worried they weren't taking lunch breaks!) and the result is A+. What differentiates Green Vine is the people - how skilled they are and their incredible attitude. I hired this company in November, and needed 2 x a mo. care. I am in and out of town for several weeks at a time. Initial clean up ($690) was good. They quoted me a $240 price/mo. and I signed a contract. It was later upped $90 to allow for spring mowing, which the owner quoted. I had to leave down March 1 for a long while. The invoice came in the mail every month for $330. Guests at the house said the grass was getting really tall, weeds all over the roadbase, etc. I doubt they came once from March 1 to June 1. I paid $330 each month on time. That's $1,000 and the yard looked absolutely horrible when I returned. I texted the owner (Ivan) and crew manager (Gerardo) repeatedly. The crew mgr said he has a sick child and "everybody wants something." They came early June and did a minimum when I said I was holding off June $ until I could see the whole yard. The crew manager never checked in on the property all year. Called me by the wrong name. The owner never responded once, sent him numerous pics of very tall weeds (3-4 feet). Now I am hustling around for a last minute weedwacker for about 20 hours work this week, plus clean up from winter. I am not used to getting absolutely stiffed by a contractor; especially when the bills get paid. Don't know who these guys think they are. read more

Ivan and his crew did two jobs for us.The first job was general outdoor cleanup and weedwacking and they did a satisfactory job. The second job was resetting pavers in our backyard and installing a new driveway surface. The pavers and driveway both disintegrated within two weeks due to poor design and installation. What's worse is that Ivan never responded to our phone call or email request to come over, look at the problems, and talk about a solution. We are very, very disappointed in his design skills and customer service. I am only giving one star since that is the minimum. read more

We had let our yard go due to the drought and other issues so we knew it was time to redo everything. We were so happy with Ivan and Green Vine from the time we first met him. We were very unsure of what we wanted and after giving some guidelines, we turned it over to Ivan and just trusted him to make it look awesome. He checked in with us about each decision and let us know what the pricing would be. His final price was the exact amount of the total estimates. It ended up being a pretty big job as they removed six trees and a whole lot of bad plants and old planter boxes and replaced it with all new drought resistant stuff, including a drip system. Yesterday it was completed and my wife and I are so happy with the results. It changed our house from being an eyesore to being the best in the neighborhood!
