Nice efficient office. Excellent surgeon. Both of my teens had their wisdom teeth removed by Dr…read moreStempien. He explained everything well and they both survived.

This used to be the best practice in the Boston suburbs. Their reputation was tops. Something has…read moresince happened. At the beginning of the summer I went in there for a consultation concerning lower wisdom teeth removal. I discussed with Dr Stempien that I had been taking a drug "Fosamax +D" for a few months but stopped taking it. In rare cases this drug has caused what is known as "dead jaw syndrome" The Dr. who prescribed the drug already gave me the "go ahead" to have my teeth extracted. He said the chance of problems was very very small. Dr. Stempien said he would get back to me as when he believed would be a safe waiting period after going off the drug. I waited one month and no reply. I called the office and left a detailed message with the person answering the phones as to the situation. I was assured a call back. I let it go another month and no call back. I called them again and left the same message with a person answering the phone. I was assured a call back. They never called me back. I let it go another month. I called them yet again. I discussed the problem with the person answering the phone and she absolutely assured me a call back. They never called me back. So as it stands they took my money for the consultation but refuse to call me back.....so I just gave up. Since they "accepted me as a patient" when I paid them for the consultation I am wondering if this is "Medical Abandonment"?

I found this guy to be anything but 'warm and friendly". I don't need a dentist to be my best…read morefriend, but he was somewhat condescending and not especially compassionate. Carol and Tracy were lovely. I only went once, but he doesn't to seem to care if he gets new patients. Per my Next Door app, they won't be coming from my way.

I never felt that my emotional trauma was taken seriously, and after reviewing my account history,…read moreit is obvious my dental PTSD was indeed ignored and never taken seriously. Things came to a head when I wrote an email to the office manager saying I had an unsettling and chaotic appointment, detailing what transpired. The response I received was shocking and infantilizing. There were many ways she could have responded or even apologized, but instead, my complaint was blamed on my PERSONAL CHALLENGES, yes, she wrote PERSONAL CHALLENGES! She ignored most of what I wrote, like how I was still upset that the last person who took X-rays left me with cuts and sores in my mouth for weeks, how I should not have paid for the X-rays- ZERO acknowledgement of this issue. I waited a few weeks to look at my records because I was still upset from our email exchange but now after reading the notes in my records, I am sick to my stomach. Exact notes including the soooooo and sooo from the person who cleaned my teeth. 6/16/20 -pt soooooo anxious about me cleaning her teeth today, she is sooo afraid of #8 falling out. Not noted, #8 (new tooth) fell out TWO TIMES. Yes, I was a hot mess (still am) with anxiety because of the tooth falling out TWO TIMES. 6/17/21- Patient's anxiety is very irrational due to having had an accident when she was 6 years old. WRONG and inaccurate - I was in the SIXTH grade (not 6 years old), I fell and knocked my teeth out while ice skating. It was during this time that my childhood dentist, Dr. Lucia of Lynn, MA, abused me while under sedation and was eventually arrested for insurance fraud. His shoddy and negligent work led to years of ongoing dental issues, which will continue for the rest of my life. I shared this information. I shared again and again that ANYONE in my mouth causes me anxiety. Even my last note is wrong. 2/29/25- patient NO SHOW. Not noted: 11/12/24 - I left this appointment in tears. I did not make or confirm my next appointment. I was devastated that I had a cracked crown and angry that the dentist did not discuss my gums after having had gum surgery in August. I may not have had a voice when I was in the SIXTH grade, but I have a voice now.

My family were patients at Wellesley Dental for a year, and we consistently received excellent…read moreclinical care. Dr. Ali, Dr. Beheshti, and the hygienist team are professional, attentive, and skilled. Although the clinical care was excellent, a long billing dispute began in July 2024 when my insurer identified a processing error that billed my services as out-of-network rather than in-network. For seven months, Wellesley Dental repeatedly reported they were waiting for insurance paperwork to process my refund. My insurer sent seven letters and one fax to Wellesley Dental; I made six calls, sent seven emails, mailed a detailed four page letter, and participated in one three way call to resolve the issue. Despite our efforts, my refund was never processed. In February 2025, I escalated the matter to the state attorney general and local media. NBC 10 decided to investigate my dispute and contacted 42 North Dental (the parent company), and a refund check for $373.50 was issued on 2/27/2025. A few days after receiving the refund, a call with the regional manager provided a full apology and an explanation: mailed insurance correspondence went to an unstaffed payments PO box; staff failed to take ownership; and operational challenges across multiple locations caused systemic failures. The regional manager said the case was escalated and would be used for staff training. The story aired on NBC 10 Boston on March 19, 2025; search "NBC 10 Charged out-of-network rates for an in-network provider." Although I received my refund, this was a stressful and avoidable ordeal.

Very friendly and gentle care. Very family feel from the whole team. They dealt with an issue I was having in a well-thought approach that worked great for me. They took care of our youngest who has nerves about the dentist with incredible care and new approaches to make him feel at ease through his first time with a small cavity. He didn't even he was having a "procedure". Front desk team is so accommodating and friendly. They helped me figure out my new insurance with no pressure to pay before I sorted it out. Just an incredible experience. Oh, and appts are always pretty smooth and efficient! So glad I found them. I feel like we are in great hands.
