I almost don't want to write this review so I can keep this place to myself... but that would be wrong, lol. Greenbrier Campground is fantastic in so many ways and absolutely deserves to be enjoyed by everyone. We rented the deluxe cabin that sleeps 4, which has a wraparound porch overlooking the river, plus a fire pit and grill. There are chairs everywhere--two on the side porch, two with a table on the front porch for morning coffee with a view, and five Adirondacks around the fire pit. The cabin itself is newly built and really sturdy, more like a tiny home. Inside you'll find a couch, a dining table with bench seating, and a kitchen with a 2-stool peninsula. The kitchen is fully stocked: plates, cups, bowls, silverware, pots and pans, can opener, toaster--you name it. A skinny staircase leads up to the loft, which is about 36" at the highest point before the beams. It has an outlet, light switch, windows on each side, and two firm twin foam mattresses. Surprisingly comfy--and super fun for kids. Our 3-year-old loved it. The bathroom was spotless with great storage between the counter and medicine cabinet, and the shower was a good size. The master bedroom has a Fire TV, tons of shelving, and plenty of outlets. As for the amenities: you get river access, a game room, and a playground. It's also very dog-friendly, with poop stations and a dog run, which we appreciated. What really stands out? * Service: The staff are incredible and make you feel right at home. * Upkeep: They genuinely care about their property. Everything inside and out is immaculate, and they enforce the 5mph and noise rules so everyone stays safe and comfortable. * Pricing: Super fair--especially if you have dogs! Downsides (and I really had to reach): * Bed: I'm pretty sure the master bed is a full, not a queen. I brought flat sheets, but it definitely felt smaller than a queen. * Shower curtain: It's adorable, but it tends to cling to you while you're showering. * Pocket doors: You need to slide the door all the way and hold it while locking until it catches. They're just a little loud, especially with a toddler sleeping in the loft since sound travels. I've honestly never stayed anywhere so clean and welcoming. Next time we'll probably book the deluxe cabin that sleeps 6, and we can't wait to come back. They anticipate everything you might need and truly care about you having an enjoyable stay. I can't recommend Greenbrier Campground enough! read more

We picked out this campground months before we went on vacation. It was perfect for us. Level spots backed up to a beautiful river. If you still have small children at home it looks great for kids. Trash area, restrooms, and camp spots were all clean and well maintained. Easy check in and nice people. It was a short trip into Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but also the right distance away. We will be back here again and will stay at Greenbrier. read more

We selected our two campsites side by side so that our two families could be together. (We ended up having to select the highest priced campsites in order to get two together.) When we got there, they had given our sites away, and had us on opposite ends of the campground! They stated that we did not pay the extra money to secure our campsite. Who does that? We paid almost $150 a night per site to get two sites together! How would giving our sites away have even come up! This is extortion! This campground is extremely noisy. The field in front of us had a blow up bouncy house slide! Talk about ruining the camping ambiance! The bathrooms are nice. read more

Campsite 27. Premium river campsite. We really enjoyed this campground, it was in the shallower side of the river, and was beautiful. Very close to the swimming hole but not obtrusive. The swimming hole is a cold mountain stream. There is an area for tubing. Playground is very nice. Water pressure is good, electric is 50 amp and solid. WiFi is very good, we were able to run a fire stick without problems. Cell coverage is sketchy, but who cares. We absolutely plan on returning to this campground. They have tubes and firewood available at the camp store. Check in was easy. Setup was easy, our site was close to level, our Anderson levelers had us level in 2 minutes. Hosts made sure that 10 pm was quiet time. The only noise was from the people at the resort across the river. Lots of activities from Smoky Mountain Ministries. They aren't obtrusive if you are not religious. read more

Campground is lovely. Grounds are well kept. Always love when we can be this close to a National Park and have full hookups, WIFI and cable. You have to drive through Gatlinburg, which can get very crowded, to access the main entrance to Great Smokies. But conveniently located to everything. I would have given this place 5 stars but the wood we purchased from the camp store was wet pine and didn't burn. Also laundry room does not have a change machine. If you need quarters, camp store is not open early or late so plan ahead. Also plan to sit in the laundry room because dryers only run for 8 minutes. If you put more money in hoping to get double the time so you don't have to sit there you will lose it. Very inconvenient to run back and forth every 8 minutes. read more

Immaculate!!! Beautiful place. Quiet and friendly. Love the sounds of the stream and the walking trail. I actually saw someone going around and wiping off picnic tables and Trimming trees. There are several restaurants close that are great too! We will be back for sure. read more

I can think of only MINOR reasons to give this location a rating less than 5 stars for an RV location. GREAT folks to deal with, a nice store for things you forgot, check in was quick and efficient, site was clean (ok, a half dozen cigarette butts, hardly noticeable). The beach site was sweet! Wonderful play area for the children. VERY level campsite, lessens the time to set up! For some reason the water didn't come on so I called to see if they had accidentally turned it off. Maintenance was onsite pronto - the problem was with the trailer, I guess, but the gentleman acted as if it were his pleasure to come out! Highly recommend. read more

We loved greenbrier picnic area! One thing to pay attention to the road is narrow and gravel. So drive slow and be careful passing cars. Other than that the river and views are beautiful and we watched tones of butterflies. Also wear shoes you can get wet and muddy and bring bug spray. read more

What a cool place! We really enjoyed ourself and the creek was amazing. Great place to just let the kids roam. Nice covered pavilion with grills and an outdoor sink. Nice community fire pit. When we where there they had blow up bouncy houses and that was amazing! That would be a cool addition if they kept that during the summer. The kids loved it. They have some Rvs to rent along with neat tents and a cabin in the creek. The watering hole has a neat rock to jump off of. read more

We had looked forward to our stay at the Greenbrier Campground but unfortunately it was not to be. My wife's grandfather passed away the week of our planned trip to Gatlinburg, TN. We had to travel to West Virigina for his memorial and funeral, he was quite a man having served in WWII. In our urgency to reschedule she (wife) agreed upon this coming Thursday and Friday as the replacement dates for last Thursday and Friday. Monday night we realized this overlapped with one of our six children's scheduled field trip to Patriots Point in Charleston, SC with his schoolmates. We had not thought of his trip while rescheduling our camping trip since we in our urgency had to make plans and travel with a family of 8 to WV for the funeral. Once we did think of his trip, we could not ruin his preplanned trip a week after his grandfather's funeral, so she again called to reschedule the dates of our trip. Looking through past reviews I see Greenbrier rescheduled one person TWICE before refusing to reschedule again. I understand policy (NUMBER OF CHANGES IS NOT MENTIONED IN POLICY WE RECEIVED BY EMAIL) but I also understand customer service and people. We had not asked for a refund, and we had not asked for dates to be moved months away, we simply ask to be rescheduled when we had already paid in full over a month before our arrival date. Also, I understand the hesitation may be that last Thursday and Friday ended up being bad weather days in Gatlinburg and this Thursday and Friday do not look to be great either with rain forecast but this was never a part of our decision making as we have camped in all weather, in fact I checked the weather only after the refusal of the campground to change the dates, to somehow try to wrap my mind around their train of thought in refusing to move the dates. If links are needed for proof of this great war heroes passing, we have news article of his life and an obit of his passing, we would have much rather have been camping and then visiting our buddy around Father's Day than having to spend our week mourning his loss. This company should really be ashamed of themselves. And by the way before you reply with company policy, nowhere in the policy does it state that dates can only be changed once. Yes, I have read the cancellation policy, and it does state a 7-day window for changes under the cancellation section, but we only wanted to reschedule. We definitely know we did not have a seven-day window the first time since it was a death and we had no forewarning, we do appreciate the rescheduling but since we moved it out only seven days from our previous date, we did not have that amount of time to work with on the second attempt. So, we are essentially being punished for only scheduling seven days out from the first reservation. Again, this policy never states the ONE change limit as was mentioned to my wife and another review on google. Greenbrier will never have to worry about our business so enjoy the little that you stole, this review was never about the money but the principle. Regardless of their appeal they only look at the individual as numbers today and not real people. So, beware of the rules/policy they may add to them as needed to suit them, never to help the customer. Working in a customer service field I know it should always be about the customer. I will say for their sake the lady my wife spoke to last week was understanding and told her that she could call back and change date as needed since my wife was calling while crying after hearing about the passing, but the rude man today did not honor what she was told last week. He could not point to where the policy stated one change either. This lack of understanding really hurt us, I like leaving good reviews not this type. read more

This was our family's first RV trip, and first visit to the Smokey Mountains. We are so impressed with Greenbrier, and are talking about returning next year. My 8 year old son was constantly exploring the woods and creek behind our site, looking for crawdads and skinks. My 12 year old was happy to have fast and reliable WIFI when we were relaxing at our site at night. I was thrilled to have spacious and clean bathrooms and washer/dryer. We all enjoyed the swimming area, too! The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Truly a remarkable experience here. Bring your bicycles--when exiting the campground turn left on Pittman Center road, take that to Hills Creek Road and turn left, go through Emerts Cove covered bridge, then follow that road until you come back to East Parkway. We had the best time staying at Greenbrier last week. We went tent camping and stayed on the island. Our site was amazing, right in the river! The staff was friendly and the camp store had everything needed, and more. The camp hosts were great. They rode on a golf cart and offered rides to campers who were out at the island anytime they came through. They warned us about storms and even offered to allow us to move our site into the main campground, which we declined. But, they made it clear that we could contact them if anything was needed. The facilities were very nice, possibly recently updated, and were well kept. There was a game room with a TV that had many channels and games were free. We were away from our site for most of our stay, hiking and doing other activities, but had we been around our campsite more, there would have been so much to do to occupy ourselves. I highly recommend this campground, and will definitely be returning the next time we are in the area. read more

They even have people who will walk your dog while you are out playing. The property is clean and maintained and the staff is friendly. It may not be the cheapest but it is worth every penny. This campground is awesome! At check in we found out the reservation was accidentally made for a week earlier but they still set us up and didn't charge us again. We are only camping out one night so we decided to just camp out in the back of our suv. When they found that out, they gave us an RV spot for no extra so we would be close to our camp fire and the electric hookups that are included in tents and RV's! They were so nice and helpful! WORST customer service. Family was sick and had to cancel our trip 6 days prior. I was told I would get a refund of my deposit when I called to cancel. When my refund did not show up they said I would not get a refund or a credit for a future stay. The lady that I spoke with was very rude and argumentative. I asked to speak to a a manger and was told she would call me. I called for 3 days and still never heard from the manager. The rude employee called me on day 3 and said the manager would not be calling me. My recommendation is go to Little Arrow! Beautiful campground in the mountains and they have amazing staff! UPDATE: A very pleasant man who is the owner called me and gave me credit for a future stay. read more

Didn't let you walk around late. Even going to the bathroom, they would make sure you were not doing anything. They would circle certain peoples areas if they were outside. Our first time camping in the mountains, and we could not have found a prettier campground than Greenbrier. We saw several online and even drove by others and none had the charm we found here. The first night we slept with an open window and heard the Little Pigeon River lull us to sleep. The campground is very pet friendly and our dog wagged her tail with many other dogs. Unfortunately the pricing changes have made this out of reach for a lot of campers. Sure, if you can go in the dead of winter when it's snowing and Dollywood is closed and you can find an affordable night. But when there are thousands of campgrounds in the country for a fraction of the price, find another. Oh my goodness this place is an oasis! We called this morning & got a last min RV site on the water...it is so beautiful and relaxing. The grounds are immaculate with bocce ball, basketball, a nice playground, Gaga, horseshoes, volleyball and a tiny but adorable game room next to the laundry room. I was able to do laundry while my son played games. The best thing about these campgrounds are the private and clean bath houses! We have an RV, but our shower is tight, so of course I was excited to shower here. Each unit has it's own toilet, shower & sink with granite. They are light & airy with plenty of room for your supplies. This is a must stay for RV camping! read more

We loved this campground - great location with creeks on both sides. We reserved almost a year ago so got one of the largest sites so that really made a difference. The swimming hole was fun and sitting outside the camper by the creek was so relaxing. Gravel sites, full hookups including WiFi (which worked well) and good restrooms. Our Verizon data service was strong enough to use to stream Roku. We'd love to return. read more

Probably one of my two favorite campgrounds I've stayed at (out of a lot). We stayed six nights on a riverfront spot. Kids loved it! The property is off of the main road so you don't get any traffic noise at all. We drove by all the other campgrounds in the area and they all were right on the main road and not half the character that Greenbrier had. Wouldn't consider staying anywhere else if we come back to the smokies. New owners have really spruced the place up too... Full hookups and cable at every site, wifi works too.
