Not much room here. Kids are sitting on the road to roast hot dogs. Not child friendly.

First off, this isn't the typical campground you think of in your mind's eye. It is right on the main drag in Pigeon Forge, so you don't get the "outdoor feel" that you might be expecting being so close to the national park. Additionally, as with most other businesses in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area, maximum profit is the driving force, which is fine in a capitalist society, but just realize that there is a cost to it. In this case, space is very limited. We went with a cabin, which could be called quaint by some and tight by others. The fire ring is literally right on the road, so you have to contend with passing cars as you sit by the fire. No joke ~ your folding chairs will sit on the road. This is not child friendly. You need to keep an eye on your kids at all times. None of this mattered a whole lot to us, as we were planning on sleeping here and spending the whole day in the park. For this purpose, I think it is a fine option. The restroom and shower facilities are perhaps the nicest and cleanest I've ever seen at a campground, and I've been to a lot of campgrounds. They are absolutely phenomenal. If you want to "sleep" here only, I highly recommend. If you want to "camp" here, I think you'll be disappointed.

SKIP THE KOA. Stay here instead... Pigeon Forge has a trolley system ($0.50 per trip or $2.50 unlimited day pass) that has a stop by the office. Park the RV and see the town without fighting traffic. Pool is beautiful and they have a splash park for little ones. Trees everywhere so the spots are shaded. We got a back in spot but they are wide so it was easy to park. Staff is courteous and efficient. I was checked in and out of the office in about 60 seconds. $5 discount per person to Dixie Stampede was a nice bonus!

We had our family and all of our friends come for our wedding. Everyone stayed here except 3 families that stayed in a hotel and they regretted it. We either brought 5th wheels, class a's or pull behind campers. Some of the family stayed in the camping cabins and we rented out the entire row of furnished cabins. The wifi was suburb and we are all streaming freaks, we in campers had full hookups working properly and had a fair amount of space. The camping cabins have a microwave, mini fridge a little air conditioner and I'm not sure about heater. Everyone said the walk to the bathrooms was nice and they felt safe in the park. The furnished cabins were very nice and honestly we reserved one for ourselves but my mom wanted it so we stayed in our rv. The only thing I would possibly change is put a back porch on so you could just enjoy the grass. But seriously it has a cute front porch and swing. We were treated so nice and we loved Maryann so much! Everyone really went out of their way to help us! We all decided to come back next year to just enjoy each other. This place is a good distance from everything.

My view of my camper neighbor as he watched TV outdoors.

Very small and narrow sites, rude front desk staff, little to no kid outdoor play areas. Only good thing was the location, that's about it.

Well, I did my research and this is definitely the campground where this happened. To be clear,…read morethis is the park located at 2479 Riverbend Loop, Unit 1, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863, just off of Henderson Chapel Road. This is the location with the central fishing pond that has the small island in the middle, the decorative 'old-timey' outhouse, and the little cabin where you sign in and they sell merchandise. I was here with my family around Winter 2019-2020. I was on my evening walk and saw a campground worker driving a golf cart up the steep hill. There was a family and their kids watching him drive recklessly. As he went around the bend and came back down, he hit a slope and the whole golf cart flipped over. The cart was headed straight for me; I could have stepped aside and let it crash, but I decided to be a nice person and save the cart from hitting people below. I stopped the cart and parked it. As I walked towards the worker to check if he was ok and see if I could help, his pants fell down, and the nearby family started pointing and laughing at him. The worker was a white male, about 6ft tall, heavyset with a scruffy beard. Later that night, while I was out taking pictures of the fireworks, he and a friend--a tall, skinny white male with long black hair about 6ft 2in--drove their golf carts past me at alarming speeds, flipped me off, and called me the N-word. I was only a freshman in high school at the time and was in a daze at what I had seen. I haven't had a lot of incidents like this so you can imagine my reaction. I called the office to report this, and the woman I spoke to was dismissive and tried to claim they don't have an island in their pond or that I have the wrong park. She even tried to claim I described a 'young man' when I never did--I specifically described a 6ft, heavyset man with a beard at the time that I was tell her this which is funny because he was a young man and thus proving my point that she knows exactly who he is. I know exactly where I was because of the specific layout of the island and the office cabin at this address. If these men are still employed here, they should be terminated. No guest, especially a teenager, should be subjected to racial slurs and harassment by staff.

This is a big operation. Lot's of staff, well organized and run, and it offers plenty of amenities. Nestled in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, this resort blends the rugged charm of camping with the laid-back spirit of Margaritaville. We stopped by with a group of 100 RVers for a multi-day rally. This place is big enough to accommodate large groups. RVers will find premium sites designed for comfort and convenience. Spacious pads, full hookups, and stunning mountain views set the tone. And whether you're here for a short weekend or an extended stay, you'll appreciate the outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and modern bathhouses thoughtfully scattered throughout the grounds. But the offerings don't stop at great RV amenities. The resort is bursting with ways to fill your days. Families can splash away at the water park, complete with a lazy river and two-story slide. Meanwhile, the hot tub and private cabanas call to those craving downtime. Hungry? The on-site Fins Bar & Chill serves island-inspired meals you can enjoy with a cocktail by the pool. Or, grab something casual at the coffee shop when you're in a hurry to hit the hiking trails. Speaking of adventures, you're in the ideal spot to explore Pigeon Forge. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is just minutes away, offering countless trails, streams, and scenic overlooks. Or, stick closer to home with a visit to Dollywood or The Island, both just a short trip from the resort. What makes this place truly special, though, is the atmosphere. It's lively yet peaceful, a mix of energy and calm that feels just right. Whether you're traveling solo, with family, or towing along your four-legged friend (yes, it's pet-friendly), Camp Margaritaville caters to all kinds of explorers. For RVers looking for more than just a stopover, this resort is a destination in its own right. We didn't get any pix -- we were too busy socializing. There is even a trolly stop to get into town from the front entrance. The weekend we were there, it was packed. Even so, the site was easy enough to back into. Tons of campers had their TVs out to watch the game and grilling, but there was little noise and noting disturbed us inside our rig. Kids enjoyed the pool and having fun while many families rented the facilities golf carts to get around the camp. The Bad: The campground is way more packed and has smaller sites than what the photos indicate. You will find it to be congested, especially on the weekends. Also, some sites to not have a dumping capability, you will need to dump at a common site when leaving. All and all, we will certainly be coming back.

Plenty of water pressure. On to the negative- I've not seen any one of authority come through and enforce rules. No security. We're dog owners and our pups stay on a leash and remain quiet. If you don't mind dogs barking everywhere then this is your place. The gravel sites need to be cleaned up. I think I have found our fire ring over in the weeds. A lot of trash all over our site. The pool area was nice, but this is too big of a campground for one pool area. Very crowded and plenty of adults at the pool using vulgar language around our kiddos. There could also be more benches in the play area for us parents who actually supervise our children. In conclusion, we like our spot. It is very trashy. Buts of garbage everywhere. The fire-pit ring is thrown off in the weeds. A lot could be done to make this place nicer. Straighten up the gravel sites. Spray down the weeds growing though the gravel. Fill in the mud holes from people's driving though the grass. This will be our one and only trip to this campground. Updated** Another example- Our last day, there were some adults at the pool. The conversation told us, these people aren't even staying here. They live up the interstate and come just to swim all day. If we had some kind of staff to check on things, this place would be much nicer and better for the paying campers. A positive is there are a lot of children and it's nice to hear them outdoors and playing.
